They always have kids too lol. If I would want to find a serious relationship now at my age, I’ve already accepted that I’ll have to be cool with being a step parent lmao

Yeah that’s a conclusion I’ve come up with too. Almost always have kids. And a lot of the stories where they had a kid with somebody who immediately when they found out they were pregnant just completely fell off the face of the planet and didn’t talk to them ever again. I’ve met so many women that have that story.

Interesting conspiracy theory brought up by Bo wulf on the BWF podcast today. Made the point that maybe doug doesn’t wanna be here anymore (multiple rumors one before the season started he’s at the end of his rope and then doug wouldn’t mind being fired)and what you’re seeing from doug is basically for lack of better words that wulf actually used giving the bird to howie and the front office before he’s on his way out because he’s sick and tired of their crap

It’s pretty clear he has no plan. One of the questions today was "why did Jalen Hurts only play 2 snaps” and he goes into this long winded explanation about game flow  that made no sense. And you can ask a similar question about multiple players. Why does it take until late in the game to target Fulgham? Why don’t you call more roll outs for Carson? Why not go more up tempo?

I don’t even know if it’s a conspiracy theory at this point. You can tell during his PC’s he’s not the same guy and has checked out. They have all these new guys in his ear that hasn’t changed a thing about the offense. He gives answers one day that completely change a day or two later. There is a big, glaring disconnect going on here.

In fairness Doug pederson has never been a good press conference coach. And his first ever press conference with the Philadelphia media he went on to talk about why it took the Chiefs so long to score a touchdown drive down double digits because they wanted to keep Tom Brady off the field which made absolutely no sense.

that said everything you said is spot on. He and his coaching staff for much fo the last 3 seasons have had no clue how to implement his personnel into the offense and scheme to their strengths. Like rigor may be good or may not be good but every time I watch him it’s clearly obvious they have no clue how to implement him into the offense. That’s been a problem for basically three months every single season over the last 3 years until they get to December and they have a lightbulb moment.

I can buy that. We all know Howie hired DP because he’s a mild mannered guy who’s going to be a "team player”. With that being said, he’s a guy Howie can control unlike Chip Kelly. I have a feeling Howie is whispering in Lurie’s ear to fire DP to take some of the spotlight off of himself. That gives him another year to help Lurie find another coach. Howie can then play another year of "fantasy football” with our draft picks.

Agreed. Just don’t know whose out there that isn’t a lateral move already. Hamilton was good with Luck and is currently doing good with Herbert as his QB coach. You could possibly lure him away as an OC.

I'd like to blow this thing up.  I'm watching Kingsbury, a fired college coach, design and create an offense for Kyler Murray.  Kingsbury wasn't seemingly qualified for the job, but he was the right fit for them at the time, because they were an absolute disaster.  I want Joe Brady from the Panthers.  I watch all of their games, and all he does is maximize the speed and talent they have on offense (without McCaffery).  He gets his best players in space, he understands Bridgewater's limitations, and all they do is confuse defenses.  I didn't watch Brady at all at LSU until the playoffs.  I think he did pretty well there too.

Agreed. In 2011 at the start of the season I posted out tate that I thought there was a power struggle going on between Andy Reid and Roseman.  This feels is eerily similar to that situation where they finish the year with a bunch of fools gold wins and they thought it would propel them the next year and it really didn’t and they came back worse with a ton of injuries.  In this case I don’t think Doug is having a power struggle in terms of wanting overall autonomy on selecting players in the draft and signing free agents. I think he is dejected from the poor moves howie Roseman has made and things being forced upon him to the point where he feels insulted.

I’ve been saying that about Carolina all year. I love watching their all 22. They are super creative and the ingenuity they come up with on offense is amazing. And they’ve done it without their best offensive weapon for 70% of the year. Let’s remember Carolina  traded one of its olineman before the season even started. Their oline is not that good. Yet they move the pocket and get creative to give Teddy Bridgewater more time and get him on the outside on the perimeter so that he can have more success. I don’t think Teddy Bridgewater is a great quarterback. He is a solid quarterback and they have him playing very well week to week because they are doing things to play to his strengths.

Also they are doing things they play to the strength of their wide receivers that they have. Curtis Samuel in my opinion Has been a underwhelming player  up until this year. I know what the analytics said but he had been underwhelming. You know how creative they are to get the ball in his hands. They must’ve been watching Kyle Shanahan because they use him very similarly to how the 49ers use Brandon aiyuk and deebo Samuel. Heck even Mike Davis has played very well for Carolina because they utilize what he does best.

This offense there’s no creativity, there’s no pre-snap motion for the most part, and they don’t understand the personnel that they have and what they do well.  When you watch Carolina and then you go watch the Eagles (which both teams aren’t very good overall) but at least Carolina they are maximizing the guys they have and getting creative on offense. It is like night and day watching our offense and theirs

I am beyond ready for a change. That’s why I want nothing to do with Bieniemy or Kafka or Riddick or whoever is out there that has ties to the 99-2012 Eagles.

its the never got spanked everyone gets a trophy generation.

I got spanked growing up, but I don't spank my kids and I never will. Every parent has their own way and I don't judge others for doing whatever they feel is best for their kids and their own situation. But I do find it strange that some would assume the only way to raise a child properly (regardless of environment or circumstance) is with the threat of violence or actual physical punishment to enforce obedience.

As for the participation trophy stuff, I can't really comment as I'm not sure what it's referring to. I didn't get a trophy growing up unless we actually won something, and my daughter's leagues do hand out medals every season, but I don't see that being much different than the boy scout badges of previous generations.

He's the guy. I wanted him as an OC after last season and Tepper opened up his checkbook to get him. Worked two years under Sean Payton and did wonders with Burrow last season at LSU. But he is a millennial, so I don't know how some in here will take it 😊

I really hope and pray that this is all just hearsay.......but....

If this is the case, he needs to be fired immediately.  I'm sorry he has some beef with the front office or ownership, but if he's this big of a narcissist, get him out of here.  At this point, he's destroying Carson's career, setting him up to be killed on every play, and he's hurting the potential livelihood of every player and coach on that team.

I forgot to include him in my post.  Exactly right.  The way they use him in the backfield, in motion, and even running the ball up the gut at the PERFECT times blows my mind.  The Eagles should be scheming up similar plays for Reagor.  Instead they attempt to get Greg Ward in space (and they fail miserably at that).  Carolina's defense is young, so they make mistakes, but they are getting better every game.  Good thing none of us wanted that Chinn guy.  Oh wait.....

I don’t think he’s actively trying to sabotage anything, I feel likes he’s just a guy that’s getting visibly frustrated by being constantly undermined and publicly neutered by a GM over stepping his boundaries. He’s also overwhelming himself trying to keep control over everything he possibly can in this environment.

Everyone wants to give Reich all the praise but reality is Doug still called all the plays in 2017. He out coached Belichick on the biggest stage of them all. He’s having a bad year but I think something else is going on behind the scenes. If they decided to keep someone it should be Doug over Howie. Or just blow it all up.

Thank you. I had to type school reports on a type writer for some years, I’ll be damned to be lumped in with those tick tockers

Same. Although I remember us getting a pimpass typewriter where it would show you the last word or two on an 8-character LCD and then wouldn't actually print the text to paper until the line feed. My dad had to buy so many ribbons for it, I wore all them sheets out.

You know what was cool to see you this weekend from the Chiefs they had Patrick Mahomes multiple times in pre-snap motion and then coming back to take the snap in motion to run plays. I had never seen that from the quarterback position multiple times in a game.

I've never coached football, so I'm happy to hear from anyone that has, but this is what I don't get.  If Doug could just step back, look himself in the mirror, and realize that he should be just be developing the coaches and managing the culture of that football team (which he's been great at), I think he'd be great.  What is the big deal about the play calling??  I know it has to be an ego thing, but at this point, how can he not know that he sucks at it this year?  And most of the last 2 years?

I know he was good with Frank Reich, but wasn't Reich the architect?  I honestly don't even know what that means, but to me it sounds like Doug trusted Reich and always coached in a vacuum in specific situations no matter what.
