I was very anti-Duce Staley as OC

But I wouldnt mind seeing Duce in a Mike Tomlin arrangement where he has an OC and DC and his role is to just manage the roster and oversee things

This set up seems to work for some of the leagues most successful franchises.

Tomlin, billichick, Carrol, to name a few.

Didn't Reid give up play calling or just GMing?

Anything you read in this thread has just about everything to do with the status of the Eagles vs who they are playing.

I mean are we as good as the Saints?

What a bummer for Campbell. Still think he would have been a good fit for us.

I really don't know at this point, tbh.  There's something seriously going on with Wentz and I'm not convinced it's entirely "systemic".  How do you explain his success in this system from 2017-2019?

Healthy OL and Outside Vet WRs who were where they were suppose to be at all times regardless of skill.  Those two things are big factors in the success of the team.

You should be able to answer that question over most posters in this thread.  This team has so many issues this year that most fans are focusing on this team's apparent "collapse" vs paying attention to most other teams around the league.  So I doubt you'll get a ton of "insight" about other teams around the league in this thread....not much more than what you would get from watching Sports Center, tbh.

I will start with run pass ratio

2020 - 35:65 ( 25:75 the last 3 weeks )

2019 - 41:59

2018 - 38:62

2017 - 44:56

Secondly, lack of getting him out of the pocket, 6 designed roll outs in the last 141 called passes.  Here is a quote from an October 31 2019 article

Wentz’s success out of the pocket goes beyond completions. His passer rating of 119.8 when scrambling is third in the league, trailing only Mahomes (136.4) and Wilson (125.9). The league average is 65.1.

I'm checking every hour for a firing. lol We are one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league. Maybe the most.

Not sure, but we sure as ish are worse than ours.

His drop off started in 2018(which points more to how much Defilip and Reich meant to us) but because the Eagles were in a bad division we hid it well.

Like I said before, 50+ drop backs against the teams on our schedule with a struggling QB is unacceptable. Doug's gotta go

That still doesn't explain a nearly 30 point drop in QB rating.  There was a tweet about QB's with that sort of drop in QB rating and I'm pretty sure just about every one ended up retiring soon after.

No cause you can’t stop the run like last year but you will for sure be in NFC Championship at least

Big Ben highest rating is 103.3 in a season his lowest is 75.4

Peyton Manning highest rating is 121.1 and his lowest is 84.1 (not counting rookie year or last year)

Brett Farve highest rating is 107.2 is lowest rating is 70.9

Philip Rivers highest rating is 105.5 his lowest rating is 82.4

Carson Wentz highest rating is 102.2 and his lowest is 73.4

All those guys didn't retire after there down season.

Nick Foles QB rating has dropped 34.6 points from his 27-2 season to last year in Jacksonville, and 38.2 points from 27-2 season to this year in Chicago.  He experienced a similar drop 2013 to 2014 in Philly.

4 point less drop off from 2017 playoffs to last year and this year.  Why has Nick Foles not retired, how do you explain his drop off ??

Not trying to have a Wentz / Foles debate, just using someone relevant with the same type of drop in QB rating.

In 2016 Matt Ryan had a rating of 117.1

In 2017 Matt Ryan had a rating of 91.4  a difference of 25.7

In 2018 Matt Ryan had a rating of 108.1 lucky for the Falcons they didn't get rid of him after the 25.7 dip in ratings.   There are examples all over the league of big dips in QBs ratings.

Currently Lamar Jackson rating is down 20 points from the previous season.  I think the Ravens will probably look to get rid of him

Carson Wentz is on pace for 67 sacks and has a shot of breaking the record for most sacked in a single season which is 76.

”why has his passer rating dropped???”

Here is a great stat showing the Eagles have no clue what they are doing offensively.

Eagles rank #1 in the NFL in yards per carry

Eagles rank 29th in the NFL in carries.

They are tied with 4 other teams in yards per carry, but have 66, 85 and 97 less carries than those 3 teams.

He’s going to have to retire.

Brady had a 21 point drop in QB rating from 2007 - 2009 ( missed 2008 on IR ).  They should have gotten rid of him, they didn't need to win 3 more Super Bowls.

I mean there are examples all over the history of the NFL with some of the best QBs of all-time.  They all didn't get benched and they worked through the issues.  If the issues are still there next year and we see a pattern of multiple seasons in a row like this then I will be worried but to get rid of a player with Wentz talent because of one down season in a crazy year with all the trouble around him is idiotic and if other franchises did that they would have missed out on a number of Super Bowl rings.

Wentz isn’t Brady or Peyton, Wentz is a scrub

He sure is playing like a scrub this year.

Exaclty, Joe Montana QB ratings

1986 - 80.7

1987 - 102.1 ( led the league )

1988 - 87.9

1989 - 112.4 ( led the league )

Good thing they didn't get rid of him after 1988, would have sucked not to win those two Super Bowls

Such a scrub, first Eagles QB to throw for 4000 yards in a season, most TD passes in a season, in 13 games.

This is not to say that Fulgham is the greatest thing ever or anything, but they had something that was working, Alshon came back and immediately... and I do mean immediately... it got broken again.

This paints a clear picture. I also, feel like it took about 5 weeks for our coaching staff to erase everything he knew and "coach him up" eagles style.
