Which is pretty shocking to me. How this team can be favorite after last weekend I have no idea.

I’m going Pulp Fiction for my #1, IB probably two.

I always felt Reservoir Dogs was overrated but it’s been a long time. Maybe I need to watch it again.

KB, IB, PF, JB, DP, OUATIH, DU, H8, and RD are how I rank his films.

Kill Bill will always be the best Tarantino I've ever watched because I like samurai swords, hot chicks and great soundtracks.

@In2football, Eagles 27 Rams 24

well I'm hoping for a win just for the doom and groomers to get back in the closet for another week.

Aaron Rodgers is the all-time leader in passer rating and TD/INT ratio. Why would anyone want to change Aaron Rodgers?

Ertz is probably top 5-7 all time as a route running tight end.  He's not fast.  But his ability to get open is unreal.

I wish he was a better blocker, and I really wish he didn't fall down every time he catches a pass to protect himself, but we have a better version of him that showcased himself last weekend.  Physical, aggressive, athletic.........I'm ready to move on!

Yeah he is a great tight end.  I'm not taking anything away from Ertz, I just think Goedert is a superior athlete.  Not sure why it won't embed but below is Ertz's career long, 60 yard catch and run from ughhh Sam Bradford.  Below that are DG's highlights from week 1.  His 2nd catch and the catch after the TD are plays Ertz would just go down on.  The way he moves is just smoother.

Ertz 60 yard catch and run.

Did you expect lots of positivity after blowing a 17-0 lead to the team with no name and a bad QB.

The best players are always tweaking things to stay on top. The term "if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” is the worst phrase ever.

A good coach would accentuate what Wentz does best and minimize what he does worst.   He worse at a straight drop every single time, scanning and throwing to a spot so, of course, Doug does that most of the time.  Bad coach.  Meanwhile, all verifiable data shows he is the best in the league outside if the pocket, scanning while moving, and throwing dimes- the famous Sanders TD last season being  the best example.   This is not to say he is moved every pass, but he needs to move, his mind processes information much better that way and his mechanics follow.

I find it odd that with Foles Doug would call RPO, but with Wentz, an excellent RPO QB, zero, zilch RPO.

A good coach’s job is to make sure their players evolve and get better.

A qb who can’t scan the field from the pocket and needs to rely on broken plays on the move is also called a below average bust who shouldn’t be part of the future plans.  I’m glad Doug doesn’t want that to be all Wentz does.

I could think of a lot of things to change about Aaron Rodgers, whom I would label as one of the most overrated elite QBs of this generation (but he is elite).

Week 1 DG

It’s clear as day seeing who is the better athlete. Whoever doesn’t see it is crazy. Gotta pay Goedert regardless of what happens with Ertz.

It is stunning how often in sports, coaches do not play to their players' strengths.  Why is BB the greatest coach of all time?  Well, one reason is he adjusts his game to his player.  Doug  did too w Nick.  I mean, LOOK at last week with Cam.  Sheesh.

Wentz SHOULD BE moving as much as possible.

Good point re BB.  He signed vets with specific skills and he put in plays that use that skills.  In the draft, he picks the players that fit his scheme.  Reason NE has winning seasons year after years despite drafting way down every year.

I have a really different opinion on this.

I actually say this as someone who is on the pro-Wentz side of the aisle (because I believe he can still be coached into these things).  Don't let the Mahomes anomaly in KC fool you; a QB whose "strengths" require broken plays outside of the pocket should not be your QB.

Cam is a scrap heap addition Belichick signed 2 months before the season.  OF COURSE he's playing to his strengths.  And first chance he gets, he's going to kick him to the curb and find his new Brady.

Likewise, Foles was a temporary backup.  OF COURSE you play to his strengths.

Wentz is a franchise QB.  You want to mold him into the prototype.  And when you realize he can't be a precise pocket passer and needs to be rolled out to be effective, you find a new franchise QB.  We aren't at that point.  So Doug is trying to coach him into being a better QB.

When/if we reach that point, well, play Hurts.

Yup.  It seems the Eagles really don't do this on either side of the ball.  It's really frustrating.  You wonder if coaches have big egos to show that their system works.  Their system is superior to everyone else rather than adapting to the players you have any letting them do what they do best.  BB with Cam is such a prime example.  They did stuff with Cam they wouldn't have dreamed with TB.  But Cam has a different skillset and BB called plays that fit what he does best.

DP on the other hand sounds dumbfounded by the suggestion of rolling Wentz out.

You’re the only person I know  (even though I really don’t know you) that would call an elite player overrated but still claim he’s elite. It’s actually somewhat admirable.

That being said, the first guy I’d think is his former teammate, Favre. As an Eagle fan, who would I rather face in the playoffs? Favre, no doubt.

Please.  Take your ancient offense and go home.  The RPO was good for Foles but not Wentz who can actually threaten the edge?

I’m still not done with Clement. Is he 2017 Clement? No. But I think he’s still capable of being productive. Hopefully him and Scott share the RB 2 role. I can’t imagine Sanders is 100% and will see 30 touches today.

I want to see Clement play behind an OL that's playing average to determine who he is moving forward. If Clement shows no burst, you can cut him and bring up one of Warren/Killins/Holyfield. Clement is not a vested veteran, so we can cut him with zero cap penalty.

Ancient offense?  A scrambling QB relying on his legs and playing recess football is the ancient offense.

I actually wish the Eagles would use more of an ancient offense for Wentz. He’d thrive in an offense that ran out of the Power I

I think elite players can be overrated. Brett Favre and Emmitt Smith are great examples.
