Eagles offense garbage all year. They received the opening kick off vs Seattle.   Seattle d offsides on 1st down.   1st and 5 for dp and wentz.   3 straight incompletions.  Punt.  That sequence is still irking me

i just cant take it

You guys posting about Jefferson and Claypool have to ask yourselves what would their stats look like if they were playing here.

They'd likely get separation and be able to help Wentz out when the line collapses

Shareef Miller didn't make any references to 2017.

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought your statement was in reference to what Shareef Miller said. Maybe it wasn't.

No it was in reference to what Will Parks said.

This is the old soul in me but if I’m a GM during the draft I’m docking a point or two from each prospect who sat out this season. Makes me slightly question their desire to play football and be a good teammate. For most of them it’s probably nothing though.

This team has 3 wins in December and we are all glued to our TVs every Sunday still. Lurie doesn’t have to fire anyone or do anything he doesn’t want to do. He literally has us by the balls.

I can be talked into different configurations for our 2021 front office and coaching staff, but none of them include Howie. At the very least, he needs to go. And with how dysfunctional everything appears to be, I’m good with a complete overhaul.

That said, I’m glad to see some folks have come around on Schwartz. People act like he’s terrible at his job, and he’s nowhere close to bad. Frustrating, sure, but overall he’s a good DC.

I agree.  I'm one that was done with Schwartz.  But the way the NFL is today it's hard to hold teams in check.  I'm just worried that his replacement will be worse.

schwartz and his bend dont break defense seems to put us in a losing position on field position, the sticks defense allows 3rd and longs to become either first downs or 4th and shorts which just give up chunks of field position rather than attack on long downs. If he has as much control as everyone seems to think his choices in players and how they are used is abysmal and no matter who comes in hopefully is either not given the power of picking players or doesnt suck as much as shwartz does.

Perhaps this season but next season if Howie is still here...

That just speaks to the fanbase’s loyalty.

I live in Baltimore. Two months ago Lamar Jackson and the Ravens walked on water. Now since it’s clear he and the offense are easy to defend, the mood is just like yeah OK whatever...

He’s not going to make any coaching or front office changes during the season; who would/could be brought in?  The season will play out and he will make those decisions after the last Eagles game of the season in January

I feel that was always going to happen with Lamar. Once teams figured him out that offense was always going to stall. He isn't a good enough passer.

Fans always get caught up when a fast, mobile QB comes along and he's fun to watch.  But you still have to be able to throw if you want to be a QB.

We know he sucks, is a cancer, and I was beating the drum for him to be released last season.  He should have been cut as soon as he was cleared.  Nice contract Howie.  I can forgive resigning him after the Super Bowl.  Sure... let's play it back and try it again.  BUT... he then compounded the issue by kicking more of his money into the future (as he does so often), and forced us to keep him this year because cutting him last year would have been too expensive.  But, had he been a post-June 1 cut last year, we'd be better off now.

Its like if you were part of the super bowl team you get special treatment even of you’re worthless and hurting the team.

winning orgs/teams dont operate like that.   When winning teams/orgs win the super bowl they forget it quickly and focus on more improvement and acquiring more talent.

ok im rambling but my point is howie is the eagles problem and howies ceiling was 2017.  He is content and thinks whatever he touches turns to gold because of 2017.    HE IS WRONG.  he needs to go and ill take a shot on a football guy as our next gm for a change

Unless the camera is straight down the line, you can't be sure.   Neither one looks like a bogus call to me.

Then your eyes are gone oldtimer. That’s perfect evidence of bogus.

It's why the Pat's have been so successful the last 20 years.  They get rid of guys 1 year earlier rather than 1 year too late.....or in the Eagles case 2 or 3 years too late.

That's because they have one person calling the shots, not 3 or 4 (or more, who the F knows with this team?). Robert Kraft is smart enough to stay out of the way, and do they even have a GM?

Just looking at their draft history for the late season runs ruin your draft slot crowd, since Brady was drafted in 2000, here are the Pats first round picks.

2001 - 1-6 - Richard Seymour

2002 - 1-21 - Daniel Graham

2003 - 1-13 - Ty Warren

2004 - 1-21 - Vince Wolfork

2005 - 1-32 - Logan Mankins

2006 - 1-21 - Laurence Maroney

2007 - 1-24 - Brandon Meriweather

2008 - 1-10 - Jerod Mayo

2010 - 1-27 - Devin McCourty

2011 - 1-17 - Nate Solder

2012 - 1-21 - Chandler Jones

2014 - 1-29 - Dominique Easley

2015 - 1-32 - Malcolm Brown

2018 - 1-23 - Sony Michel - 1-31 - Isian Wynn

2019 - 1-32 - N'Keal Harry

So in 20 years, they have picked in the top 20 3 times, 5 times did not even make a first round selection, and one of those years didn't even have a second round pick.

In more than half their drafts they picked 24 or later or did not even make a first round pick.

It is not where you pick, its what you do with the picks.

Not me homie.  Not anymore. 30 plus years of this and im finally tuned out

wake me when wholesale changes are made

I'm in a conflicted state of whether I should laugh or cry.

If Howie comes back, I'm pretty sure I'll find something else to do with my Sundays.   My wife loves Autumn... and hopefully by then we can open up.  I'll just make her super happy and we can enjoy 'autumnal' events each Sunday when the weather holds.

Indeed he is.

Agreed. Mahomes is athletic and mobile but he throws first. Wilson is quick and agile but he uses that to throw the ball. Rodgers makes guys miss but throws the ball.

It's critical that we don't win any more games this year.  The 4th overall pick next year is well within our grasp, along with a clear mandate for necessary, wholesale changes.  We cannot blow this with harmful late season wins.  3-12-1 is the objective now.

I no longer see the possibility of the team showing up and establishing any kind of competent form, as it has late in the season in each of the prior two years. Too much has been lost.  It's now become a bona-fide bottom 5 NFL team or worse.  I see three consecutive decisive losses on the immediate horizon... but those last two games make me nervous.  They should be losses, but they are both games that we could very well end up winning.  Damn this division being so universally bad.  Late season wins can be devastating.  Ask the Redskins and Giants about Chase Young.

Not really.  Been watching other teams that are more fun to watch, particularly if you play fantasy.  And if the Sixers get Harden somehow, then Lurie is going to lose more share if he puts a bad product on the field.

You speak as though the players or coaches want to lose games through the remainder of the season -- they don't.  The more games they lose, the more jobs get lost.

As a fan, just let the season play out and don't get so worked up about it, because you really have absolutely no control over it.
