Nothing against Jalen but it was a stupid pick and a waste.  They could have drafted someone that can play and contribute while getting a backup QB in free agency.

It's really mindboggling how much of the past 3 or 4 drafts we've wasted on the first 3 rounds.

Even if you wanted another young QB to develop because you dont think Wentz can stay healthy, why Hurts?  Unless you're gonna run Oklahoma and Lincoln Riley's offense, what's the point?

Rodgers also has less injured weapons and Oline. Also a play caller who isn't an idiot

you know what I love about the original comment well he shouldn’t be our quarterback if that’s the case. So last year at the end of the year he was playing at a high level without having to look over his shoulder. Meanwhile this year they revert back to doing what they did before knowing he struggled with that. So if you trade him let’s just say the colts and he goes onto play at a high level again and doesn’t have to look over his shoulder yeah we definitely don’t want that guy as our quarterback.

So let me get this straight if he goes somewhere else not looking over his shoulder and gets back to the level of play he was at at the end of last year but we don’t want him because he couldn’t deal with the fact the Eagles were dumb enough to put them back in the same position they saw him struggle with when foles was here? That seems like that would end disastrously with people. This is the very reason les Bowen in that press conference rip them in the question he asked

It's a compliment to be called "delusional" by delusional people.

Come on... you seem to want to put ALL the blame on Wentz.    Doug hasn't figured out how to use Reagor, Ward, Fulgham, Sanders... Doug keeps trotting Ward out there as the PR.  Howie has failed to put a quality roster together.  The draft history speaks for itself, the free agents he's signed have largely failed.  So, while you continue to point at Wentz as the primary issue, you fail to even acknowledge that those other 2 are at least as much to blame.

But, hey, we'll get to watch another game where Doug refuses to run the ball even 10 times.  Last game... 9 carries for Sanders, Scott and Clement combined.  just disgusting.  And the game was never out of reach until the 4th quarter where they had to abandon the running game... but he does... far far too frequently... pretty much on a weekly basis.

Apparently Wentz isn't as "safe" as some of you assume...(at least in reference to getting benched)....

Didn't we hear the same thing last week?

Hurts getting more first team reps. Lurie gave the order to pull Wentz if he struggles, and Hurts got what? 2 plays?

If this is true, Wentz should not be our QB moving forward.

If someone behind him on the depth chart bothers him then he isnt a franchise QB.  No mental toughness.  Hopefully it's not true.

Yeah, GB did the same thing with drafting Love this year and Rodgers is playing like an MVP.

Even when Wentz was playing great in 2017 he was nowhere near Rodgers.  Never has been and never will be.

If the Eagles are out of the playoffs, I actually root for GB.  My dad was a Packers fan so i dont mind cheering for them.

I love when people try to get into the brains of these players.   Unless Carson has actually told someone, then it's just wild speculation.

Yup. That's why I said "if".

I respect you as one of the better posters of this blog, IP so please don't take my posts "personally".

I've hinted at it before but one of the reasons I may "seem" to take the side of the coaches/FO is because 90% of the posts in this blog blame them vs holding Wentz more accountable.

I have repeatedly said, 'Everyone shares the blame" when your team is 3-7-1.  There is little doubt there.  And I will also gladly eat my words if  this offense shows signs of improvement between now and the end of the season.  Everyone, including myself, wants to see Wentz succeed.

What backup QB?  Winston, Dalton, or far worse?

Decent backup QBs are rare in the NFL, and cost a lot of money.

I don’t know how glennon got that ball to shenault but that was a ridiculous TD. Should’ve been picked off twice

As far as Hurts affecting Wentz, you think Grappallo affected Brady?

If you're gonna be a NFL QB, you can't play afraid.

I don't take it personally.  The issue is this:

Quote

In what Universe does demolishing an entire team (including the coaching staff and GM) make sense because you refuse to admit that the QB you drafted 5 years ago is not the "chosen one"?  How is that remotely fair to the team, the fans and Wentz himself?

Who decided to draft Wentz 5 years ago?  Howie, Doug, et al.  So, if he was the wrong pick that was their decision.  coaches and GMs rise and fall with the QBs they invest in.   Wentz is the one most likely to survive this season, because of his contract (given to him by Howie).  Doug and Howie had their chance to build and they did.   They all share the blame.  But, there's no salary cap for GMs or HCs, so the Ealges can actually change that aspect easily, compared to Wentz.

So, that's why I am discussing this with you.  You focus on Wentz to the exclusion of the other major players in this debacle.  You can play it off as the bloggers aren't focusing enough on Wentz.  But, the highlighted comment you made make it sound as if you see Doug and Howie as victims of Wentz' struggles, when they are the architects of it.  They built the system that he's in, the roster he's forced to play with and he was the one that they chose to invest in... both in the draft and in his contract.

If he’s that soft who wants him anyway

anyone that's desperate for a qb.

We’re #1!!!

Watching the Saints with Hill... they don't need to bring Brees back to beat the Eagles.

And Hill, unlike Daniel Jones, won't trip and fall on his 80 yard run.

Derek carr continuing his great play against the jets. Imagine the jets beat the raiders and then the jags manage beat the Vikings and that’s how the jags lose the no. 1 pick

There is about what 3 teams desperate for a QB and two are getting Lawrence and Fields

I don’t think it necessarily knocked his confidence, but I bet it affected his comfort level and trust in the building.

Everything about that pick was stupid and poorly thought out.
