What backup QB?  Winston, Dalton, or far worse?

Decent backup QBs are rare in the NFL, and cost a lot of money.

What about Sudfeld?  He's been here for many years and probably no better or worse than any other backup QB.

If their plan for a backup QB was a rookie, project, gadget type QB then they're idiots.  It was a waste of a 2nd rounder.

Ruggs just fumbled and the Jets might win this.

I’m just rooting for the clock to keep ticking so I don’t miss the beginning of the Eagles game.

If they draft a WR in the first 2 rounds i'll be pissed. We've had enough of that in the last few years.

So you are good with Jjaw and Reagor for the future of the team? They picked two huge reaches. The position group is still one of the worst in the NFL. I feel fans are really overthinking that position due to how bad we have been at drafting. I'm even doing it.

Jamar Chase is built like a mack truck and probably one of the best vertical threats to come out of the draft in a long time. Great release, physical, great hands. If he is the bpa you take him.

There isn't that many great lineman in the top of the draft. Maybe Parsons with another defensive coordinator. Trade back and get Smith?

Chase seems like the no brainer pick for one of the worst offenses in the last 2 to 3 years. Whoever the qb going forward will have zero excuses. Build the trenches after.

Justin Jefferson running by defenses even though he is a slow slot receiver.

Hey relax......Reagor is about to break out and explode.  The Eagles WR coach told us this so it must be true 🤔....any day now.

Hope they don’t miss the extra point then

Spoiler alert......you're only going to miss a few 3 and outs.

Add Donovan Peoples-Jones to rookie WR making plays.  This isn't saying the Eagles should have taken him just showing yet ANOTHER rookie WR making big plays.  It's unreal that all over the league rookies are able to contribute.

And a traded 4th round pick as well.  Just great.  Thanks, Howie.

We are 2nd to last in drafting since 2015. Jets are the worst.

That may be our entire offensive output today.

No Jeffery, no Jackson, and no JJAW next season creates 3 empty spots at WR.  Not sure where people think a passing game is going to come from without drafting at the position.

There is no money for FA

This exactly. Chase as your WR foundation with Reagor and Fulgham sounds like a good starting point. And very affordable.

FulgHAM!

Darren Waller trying to beat the Jets himself. 12 catches for 185 yards and 2 tds

Yeah I'm all in for getting Chase.  I dont like that he's been sitting out for the year but at the same time its 1 year that his body isnt taking punishment.

Well look at the bright side. If we have to drink a shot every time the Eagles run the ball we won't have a hangover in the morning.

And either Watkins and/or Hightower emerges as well.  Would be nice.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Besides WR, and maybe DE (although there doesn’t seem to be anyone great besides Rousseau) the only other justifiable pick for this team in the top 6 is CB. Outside of Sewell it makes no sense to go OL. For better or worse, Brooks and Johnson are here next year because of their contracts. LT between Dillard and Mailata should be ok. Seumalo is set. Kelce is the only question and your not drafting a C that high. Chase should be the pick.

No but i'm good with Reagor and Fulgham.

Just how many bites do you want to take out of that apple while ignoring everything else?

I don't take it personally.  The issue is this:

Who decided to draft Wentz 5 years ago?  Howie, Doug, et al.  So, if he was the wrong pick that was their decision.  coaches and GMs rise and fall with the QBs they invest in.   Wentz is the one most likely to survive this season, because of his contract (given to him by Howie).  Doug and Howie had their chance to build and they did.   They all share the blame.  But, there's no salary cap for GMs or HCs, so the Ealges can actually change that aspect easily, compared to Wentz.

So, that's why I am discussing this with you.  You focus on Wentz to the exclusion of the other major players in this debacle.  You can play it off as the bloggers aren't focusing enough on Wentz.  But, the highlighted comment you made make it sound as if you see Doug and Howie as victims of Wentz' struggles, when they are the architects of it.  They built the system that he's in, the roster he's forced to play with and he was the one that they chose to invest in... both in the draft and in his contract.

Ah, after re-reading my post I see how it could come across that way.  That post was in response to the initial poster stating that there, "There was no chance that Lurie would ever trade Wentz".  Which alludes to him believing that Lurie blames the coaching staff and/or Roseman over Wentz..

So that entire post was a "hypothetical" in "assuming" he was "right".  Which I doubt.  Jeffery Lurie has been an exceptional owner who has always come across as caring about his coaches and his team....and he's a smart guy.  I doubt he would place "all the blame" on the coaching.

Sorry it came across that way.

Either Chase or I've seen others say Surtain from Bama.  Be nice to have someone opposite Slay.

Mack hollins and Parker got ejected.

I’m not knocking him for sitting out. He was always going to be a top 10 pick and there’s far more risk than reward to play this year with everything going on. He’s also stupid young, so that plus not playing this year, his body has plenty of tread on the tires.

And the lions come back to take the 34-30 lead thanks to Trubisky

Surtain as long as Schwartz is gone. I think Dallas gets him though
