Offense at least moved with Hurts in but don’t get it twisted Hurts is still a project who needs time and isn’t going to save anything. The move to him should have happened two weeks ago.

I think they have to start Hurts next week now

The offseason decision-making just got 1000X tougher

I'll disagree about Hurts. Packers when they decided to play again shut him down. That said I think now he should start the next game.

Like I said, I don’t see Hurts as a future answer at the position.

Which to me is even more evidence of how bad Wentz is.

But I get why most Eagles fans don’t want to believe that.

There’s gonna be a lot of confirmation bias from Hurts’ play. And it’s gonna go both ways.

This.

Hurts is a rookie who doesn’t have the benefit of a full offseason, minimal first-string snaps and came in cold off the bench. He faced pressure, delivered a nice deep ball against it, and was able to maneuver well in the pocket. He had a bad drop. He had some bad misses too. He is going to not see the field well.

Trying to say the offense was the same with him or Wentz is laughable. Wentz is a $30M veteran QB. He doesn’t deserve the leash that a rookie gets. He shouldn’t be held to the same standards.

I'm actually relieved that the Hurts spark went out - not as criticism of Hurts in any way, shape for form, but on the lines of the Eagles can't delude themselves that a comeback win will cure the ills.

This team stinks and gets what it deserves.

Frankly more telling if he starts against the saints and you see where he is. When it’s 23-3 like i said with wentz against the Steelers and ravens teams take their foot off the peddle and you tend to see stuff like that happen where a team gets close. As soon as reagor scored you saw GB defense step up again. I think you’ll get more info about him starting vs. the saints of thats the direction they go.

im fine with Hurts playing out the string.

Wentz is done here, he has to move on for his own good, he will go somewhere and play really well, we will need a total rebuild, and NO hurts isnt a long term future, running qbs work for maybe a season and then defenses catch up to them, look no farther than Baltimore

we are back to needing to find a franchse qb. sucks wentz could have been that guy, and will be that guy for another team, but he has to move on now.  He will never play well enough here behind this oline throwing to these wrs to ever get his confidence back

well done howie/doug.    you took a league mvp type QB and broke him good

He still has a learning curve...like any rookie QB who missed an entire pre-season and has played 1 1/2 quarters of NFL football in his life.   It was nice to see him help spark the team....the team was fun to watch for about a quarter between his TD drive and the Reagor return.

Hurts is faster, stronger and throws harder than 2020 Wentz. No kidding he looked better.

Indeed, but I would think the Saints D will have Hurts for lunch, because of a week planning, they know the OL is awful and the scheme is pathetic.  You can't lose by playing Hurts, but the issues are larger than the starting QB and have been for the past 6 weeks IMHO

I don't like him under center.  He needs to play out of the shotgun on the majority of his offensive snaps until he gets more experienced.

What a mess that has been created. I wonder if Doug did it just to F with Howie.

Even if Hurts looked awful he should play. The goal this season isn't to win games anymore, so playing Wentz is no longer meaningful for any reason.

Wentz is just broken. It’s a shame because until this year, his biggest knock was durability and he’s yet to get hurt this year.

no, it didnt, they jave to move on from wentz now. You cant bench him and think he will somehow get his confidence back from it.

he will get his confidence back, but with another team.

It’s why was going to wait to start him for the Dallas game. I think the saints are likely playing the best defensive football in the league right now. The last five weeks they’ve given up 8.8ppg. So you are likely feeding him to the wolves in that game. Not sure you want to do that to a rookie in his first ever start. I could understand Arizona. They aren’t great defensively with pressure with Jones out so it makes some sense.

Peters should start next week on the bench.  I want to see him with that humiliation.

He can be the first guy up with an injury.

The Saints don’t have much game film on Hurts though.

Uh...

Wilson

Watson

Murray

Cam

Jackson just isn’t a good passer. Running QBs can definitely make it.

Now comes the Saints, first game Brees should be back. Giving me some scary 2018 season flashbacks. Next Sunday should be ugliest one yet.

No that's not true at all, but I do believe that either he or Hurts has to go now

howie and doug broke him.

Hurts is a more athletic Tyrod Taylor. That being said, it’s an upgrade over Wentz right now.

Can we at least acknowledge that we finally got a great Reagor outing?
