I touched on this briefly with IP yesterday.  The reason I do that in here is because the vast majority of posts on the subject in this blog put the vast majority of the blame on Howie and/or Doug.  I don't believe that to be the case.

And one of the MAIN reasons I wanted to see what another QB looked like (Could have been either Hurts or Sudfeld as far as I am concerned) was so that we could get a much clearer picture of where the fault lies.  It was never meant to "bash Wentz".  And I dare you to find a post in this blog where I used the words "Wentz sucks" or anything of the sort. I've always alluded to his mechanics being a mess, etc etc...but I'm not the "Wentz basher" people like to accuse me of being.

I never said you said he sucked. I said you turn every discussion into wentz. And you over obsess about wentz and blame him for nearly every thing. I literally was talking defense with someone after the rams game you decided to interject and start a discussion of how that wasn’t a big issue to even be discussing.

again I’ve bashed wentz. I have bashed doug. I have bashed howie. I have bashed reagor for lackluster and lazy routes. I’ve bashed duce and the running backs about crap blitz pick up and pass pro. I can go on if you like. I don’t center my life around just one aspect. And i don’t just defend wentz. I’ve defended doug on here at times cause i think howie has tied one hand behind his back with bad roster management for over 3 years now. I can’t defend howie cause literally almost every move he’s made since the super bowl has imploded.

Have people heard the Aaron Rodgers comments? He said he made sure to speak with him away from mics. Makes it seem like he trashed Wentz's situation.

Has been posted multiple times already.  I posted it, it has been quoted several times.  Go look at my previous posts.

They saw what they saw in Brissett and Rivers and paid even more, and they know neither is the long term answer.

But, they can draft a QB and that gives the GM there a cushion to develop the QB and not have to worry about getting canned if he trades for a big contract QB who had a terrible season. If they traded for Wentz and if Wentz does there what he did here this year, that GM would be on the hot seat immediately.

Here you go, went ahead and did it so I could see the update.  Very skewed to Wentz.

Well... I guess we'll get to see how great the offense looks with Jalen Hurts at the helm.

A few of you need to stop with the I told you so's that trail back 4 seasons...  We've got a full blown new QB controversy to discuss, and it has nothing to do with Nick Foles.

Only new grudges from now on!

In true Eagles fashion, the organization shitcans the most talented of Wentz, Roseman, and Pederson.

The only 2 people that have performed worse for the organization this season.

I think he just wanted to have a private conversation

If we trade Wentz 2021 post June 1st, it is a dead cap hit of 9.2 million and a cap savings of $25.3 million.  Is this correct?

Reich would take him, but under what conditions?   Any team would take a QB if the price is right.   Even one that is a reclamation project with a very uncertain future.

- Take Wentz but offer no return?

- Take Wentz in exchange for a pick?

- Eagles pay most of the money and maybe toss in a pick of their own?

Find the quote from Esiason.  He seemed (as I recall) to say that he'd be on the phone instantly and pay a handsome price for the opportunity.

I've already laid out the money, and just did briefly a little while ago.  Trading team takes on $25M guaranteed salary for 2021, and the rest they can drop with no cost.   The Eagles would get at least 1 first round pick in exchange for Wentz... likely more.

The funny thing is, I use it a lot, but mostly in a passive manner to follow news updates, not as a social media tool.

Their GM is killing it. He’s safe as can be.

He was trying to get him the Rodgers rate on his insurance.

Hard to do when the spotlight is always on you and some jackwad reporter is trying to get a scoop.

No, cap hit of 34.8 million, savings 890,000

He probably told him "get rid of the ball in less than 3 seconds. If the WRs aren't open, it's on them at that point.  You don't have time to do a discount triple check in the pocket."

Sure but then almost $25M in dead money in 2022

Thanks.  I still don't get it.  He liked a tweet with both their pics on it?

I don't see any team trading for him unless he gets back out there and shows some sign of progress and that means cutting down his 4.88 seconds per pass attempt down to around 3 and until he gets his completion percentage a little higher and eliminates turnovers. Right now I don't think he has any trade value with this contract and with his year long lack of production.

I don't disagree but someone like Reich might feel like Wentz isn't getting the support he needs.  They also might think the tape shows a different story than the results.

That would maybe be good for all parties involved.

Not if its post June 1st

POST-6/1 TRADE

2021 Dead Cap: $9,273,538

2022 Dead Cap: $24,547,076

2021 Cap Savings: $25,399,998

but they would have to be under the cap first. The cap savings don't come until after June 1st. And then your just pushing dead money into the future.

The difference between you and I is that I gladly admit when I'm wrong...you seem to like dying on your hill.   I'll eat crow. I've done it here plenty.

I admitted that in hindsight, the WR situation wasn't as good as I expected it to be,  Even in that case, the jury is still out to a degree because if all of a sudden the WR's look remarkably better with a new QB....well....

And I don't cry.  Certainly not for a football team (as much as I might like following them)...but you keep on going on and on and on with your passive aggressive attacks and straw man arguments whenever someone "calls you out", you've been doing it here for years, so it's to be expected.
