Post-June 1... but what team would wait until June 1 to get their QB?

Only a team that suffers a season-ending injury to their starter, just like what happened with Bradford.

Thanks.  I still don't get it.  He liked a tweet with both their pics on it?

It has the icon for retweet under Hurts, and like under Wentz.  So retweet for Hurts, like for Wentz.

You can technically trade him at any point and designate it as a post June 1st move. It doesn't have to be literally after June 1st.

The problem with trading Carson Wentz is this:

  • 2021 Roster Bonus: $10M (guaranteed, paid the 3rd league day of 2021)

Once that gets paid it swings the dead money and you are taking on an additional $9M in dead cap to trade him. All those sites are showing what would happen if you traded him before paying that bonus. Now ask yourself, why would teams agree to a trade just to pay that money themselves, when they can just wait 3 days for the Eagles to pay that bonus so they don't have to. It wouldn't make any sense for a team to agree to trade for him and pay that bonus. The Eagles are stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

The post June 1st numbers will also change once that bonus is paid. His 2021 dead money will be $19,273,538, savings will only be $14,547,076 and his 2022 dead money remains at $25,399,998

Huh?  Pretty sure that was someone else.

No it was you cause we got into a even longer argument about this.

I'm rooting for a 5th round pick.

I don't remember that one.  Ok, no more arguments for the time being. :P

This is just a misuse of personnel.  I mean it's terrible but I don't think this is all on Wentz.  It just looks likely a completely uncoached team.  I mean how do they continue to mess up on these details.

If he did both that means he likes both QB's right?  So why the big deal?

Do you not use twitter, this is how some folks do a poll, retweet for one, like for the other.

And he did not retweet it.  Fletcher Cox has let it be known who he supports.

I'd prefer they restructure his deal, and drop the max of other dead weight as they can to cover for dumping him later if needed.  Can cut $18M off the cap overage in just that move.

There's not a lot of accountability in the organization and that falls down the chain and players lose focus. They need to tighten up the organization.

Anyone else feel this team is going into the dark ages? A bunch of 4 win seasons over the next few years

Times ahead definitely look gloomy, but luckily this isn't the NBA.  A clean sweep could yield a playoff team within 2 years even with our cap mess.  We've seen the Dolphins, Arizona, the Bills last year, and even us 3 years ago.  The clean sweep is needed though.  Howie won't make the right decisions, and I have no faith in Doug and staff to coach them even if he did.

That's probably the best option but Wentz would have to play ball. He's going to hold all the leverage on that end.

Even the Giants with a terrible GM missing their best player and drafting a first round bust look competitive after a garbage season. It's very, very easy to the right ship. You just have to be willing to do so, as the owner.

Ace Nova being obtuse again.

He wouldn't have to play ball much on that move.  All it does is take his guaranteed salary and his roster bonus and converts it to a signing bonus... He'd actually get more money at once this way... and wouldn't have to wait for the weekly game checks... He'd get it all in one big check...

He really loses nothing to make that happen.

My bad.  I thought he retweeted it because the tweet was showing on his page on the screenshot.  Didn't realize it was under "likes" on his page.
