I can't believe how much Lamar Jackson has regressed as a passer.  Have defenses just "figured him out," or is there more to it than that?

He was always overrated

Just think, if we had signed him and still drafted a WR itd probably have been Jefferson.

I dont have an issue with Reagor. But Robbie Anderson and Jefferson is a better outcome than just Reagor.

Don't make me think about it...

I'm still in therapy over Chris Godwin.

You can add Kempski to the list as far as I'm concerned.

I must admit I enjoy his sense of humour.

Well, he is without Marty Mornhinweg.

what the hell? If hes trying to be fired why doesnt he just resign instead?

He gets paid if he's fired.  He doesn't if he resigns.

Godwin, Metcalf ,jefferson doesn't matter if Oline can't block Wentz can't find them and Doug has them running crappy routes they all look like crap here.

Honestly it feels like any time with WR with the eagles over the last 20 years when you think the issue is solved it implodes. Got To. That imploded a year later. Reggie brown looked good his first couple years then he disappeared. Had stallworth for a year and then he left. Had maclin and Jackson for a couple years (maclin missed a couple years). Then we release DeSean. Maclin has a career year and he walks. We drafted matthews and agholor, neither get their second contract after their rookie contract (don’t consider matthews getting his second contract after his rookie from us). Draft JJAW he’s a bust. Jury out on 2020 but jefferson giving us nightmares

Given that the Cowboys can't stop the read-option, Jalen Hurts should be able to rush for 50+ yards.

That is likely a bad thing.

Every 5 years someone needs to reinvent this wheel.  Everyone falls in love with a dynamic running QB, defenses suddenly completely forget how to defend them for a year, and then it all falls apart because they never learned how accurately pass from the pocket or go through progressions.

This was inevitable with Jackson.

Coincidentally, our new starting qb is run first.

I think the WR development here is so horrific combined with the play calling.......I wonder how good some of these guys we missed on would be in this offense.  I'm picturing Reagor in SF's or Carolina's offense, where they would utilize him in space constantly.  I'm sure he wouldn't be running lazy routes either.  A bunch of Jefferson's big plays this year have been on long developing plays, which he runs and sells perfectly.

Never works in the playoffs.

Sadly, Groh moving from WR coach hurt as much as him becoming OC.

Well, the good news is that Doug Pederson hasn't been able to figure out any cool plays with Jalen Hurts all year. While the zone-read is in the playbook, I honestly don't know if they have QB power, QB draw, etc. in it. The Cowboys weakness is run D and we don't want to run the ball so, so 🤷‍♂️

I'm so depressed by this team...

Do you really believe it was a coincidence? I agree with kapadia and bo wulf. I think the eagles saw Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson last year have success. And they wanted that type of QB cause they believed that’s where the nfl was going.

I just realized we’re probably going to have our 7th new WR coach in 7 consecutive years. That has to be a record and also another reason to fire Howie

Would be huge for us if Dallas won tonight.

Yup - move from #6 to #5 in draft position.

That's actually a reason to fire Doug.

Doug's inability to find good assistant coaches and develop young talent is a big problem.

I don’t know about if he would or wouldn’t be running lazy routes. Was kind of a knock on him his last year at TCU when his freshman QB was awful. I want to say we discussed it on the old board leading up to the draft.

But i do believe with the niners they’d likely use him a lot like deebo but i think reagor has better speed and vertical threat than reagor. But you could do some of the crossing and jet sweeps and stuff like that the niners use.

WR development is an issue. I believe since 2015 we’ve had a new WR coach every year. I know Lewis was the WR coach in 2016. Groh in 2017. We had someone in 2018. Walch last year. This year moorehead. So is it development with coaches or maybe just players they are given to coach? I feel like 5 different coaches only groh has had success and it was with smith, alshon and eagles drafted one agholor.

I really hope they weren’t dumb enough to believe that.  We truly go through this cycle every 5-10 years.

Every so often a Steve Young, Mcnabb (sort of), Brees,  Wilson transcends being a running qb and focuses on excellence as a passer...but the running ultimately wasn’t much of the reason for their success.

Who says it’s him being allowed to choose those coaches? It could be howie forcing them on him.

You think Howie doesn’t have his hand in that pot? He likely forced Doug to fire Walch, I doubt he just sat back and didn’t have a say in his replacement.

Oh i agree but wulf and kapadia made super intriguing points about it. Like it makes logical sense when they laid out their argument. I could see them thinking that way.

Lol i literally tried to name all the WR coaches since 2016. I don’t remember who was 2018.

2016– Greg Lewis

2017– Mike groh

2018–?

2019– Carson walch

2020– Moorehead
