That's actually a reason to fire Doug.

Doug's inability to find good assistant coaches and develop young talent is a big problem.

Is Doug even allowed to hire his own assistant coaches though?   Seems not based on last year's debacle with Groh and Walch.  He said they were back... the next day, they were gone.  Seems that Doug doesn't have final say, if any say, over his coaches, which is likely why he might want out.

So, I'll put that on Howie, but Doug still needs to go.  Sorry Doug, thank you for SB LII... but as with others, the time has come.

Oh i agree but wulf and kapadia made super intriguing points about it. Like it makes logical sense when they laid out their argument. I could see them thinking that way.

And they just brought in Marty... who was recently in Baltimore.   Gross.   That's not the future of the league.   That was the league's past, back in the 3 yards and a cloud of dust day.   The future of the league is the passing game, that's the reality.  That's where the offense has the huge advantage, especially regarding what the defense can and can't do.   QB is protected in the pocket, much less protected as a runner.  DBs can't touch the receivers more than 5 yards down field, while the QB is in the pocket.  And then when the QB is outside the pocket, they can get handsy with the WRs again.    So, the occasional roll out works, but the QB running, the QB staying in the pocket is more or less the way the NFL wants it to be...  So, find a QB who can move, but more importantly, can throw from the pocket.

We saw that when they played... it was some ugly ugly football.

Gunter Brewer... formerly had coached.... the one, the only... Mack Hollins at UNC.

LVE is looking almost as bad as Nate Gerry this season.

Maybe not — but he’s nowhere near the player he was a couple of years ago

Part of his job as the head coach (I would think a big part) is to develop his coaching staff too.  Other than Groh, who seemed overwhelmed as the OC, has Doug actually made any of the coaches on his staff "better?"  Stoutland was already successful, and so was Duce.  While I know you can't polish a turd, I struggle to find another example.

Here's an example of polishing a turd.

So that's what it is.  I knew something was going on with you. :P:lol:

How would he look as the biggest clown? I'll give you a great example. This is what Patty Roy did to get out of Montreal. This is what James Harden is doing right now.

You want to pay me, surround me with sh!t, draft a backup on top of me. Ruin my flow with trick plays while using the same plays from 2 years ago. F U TRAD ME

*IF* I were Wentz I would of asked for a trade as  soon as they 1) didnt bring on an OC and 2) when they drafted Hurts. NOTHING good could of that

Was Roy and Harden playing like one of the worst at their positions when asking for a trade?  I mentioned earlier that if Wentz were even playing average and got benched then he has a case.  But unfortunately that isnt the case.  Not to mention if he's supposed to be the real deal, then drafting someone like Hurts shouldn't bother him.  He should know he's better than Hurts and not be threatened by him in the least.  I mean we're talking about Jalen Hurts here.  It's not like they drafted Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence to back up Wentz.  Its freaking Jalen Hurts 😄.  Wentz should not be nervous about that dude.

Carson can do whatever he wants.  But to me he'd look foolish asking for a trade right now after playing like one of the worst QBs in the league.  If anything, wait till the season is over.

I can't believe how much Lamar Jackson has regressed as a passer.  Have defenses just "figured him out," or is there more to it than that?

That type of QB always gets figured out.  Another reason the whole Hurts thing is dumb.

I’m fine with Waddle over Chase if our draft position dictates it.

If Reagor gets his head straight and learns to play the position, combined with Waddle, that might actually work out.

We’d still need a #3 WR, but a shifty phone box quick type would be all they need, which could be found in a delayed fashion at moderate cost after they get a qb and figure out the tackles.

After they figure all that out...then...and only then...should they bother with defense.

Are you kidding me? Waddle?  All WR, all the time.

I actually still like quez Watkins as a slot receiver. I just knew it was going to take maybe 2-3 years for him to get to the position to have him be that guy. The issue was he wasn’t close to being ready. He needs to add bulk and become more refined at route running and adapt to the jump in level of competition.

Caplan consistently says he doesn’t do a very good job with his assistant coaches and riding them to be better. Not sure that’s true but caplan nearly every time i listen to their podcast mentions it.

Doug's calves have gotten smaller.......

Guys...I wouldn’t take that Cox thing too seriously. They are farming for interactions. Twitter polls do exist. If I were a player, I’d troll fans by liking a tweet too.

If he can't get on the field with these receivers because of his route running?  This must be him on the practice squad.

Yup.....would also make sense to protect the struggling QB too.

He's mixing in some frozen yogurt and sorbet.

Waddle/D. Smith/Chase. All the 3WRs are good 1st round options. Would be thrilled with any of them.

Of course.  But, we've seen that Doug isn't worried about that.

That missed call on Lamb was atrocious. He might score if he doesn't get held.
