Short term vs long term. Wentz is 10 years? Younger than Rivers. Wentz has shown he can be MVP QB. Why wouldn't you want to shore up long term? 

AGAIN - the WORST OLINE AND WR's in the NFL and some very questionable coaching,  and some on here wonder why Wentz has regressed? It's laughable.

Rodgers knows, Carson Palmers knows, I can safely say Frank Reich Knows.

Because Wentz is a much better QB at this point, or at least for any competent organization.  If you swapped Rivers and Wentz, Wentz would likely be an MVP candidate and Rivers would have been killed by week 8

Furthermore that just convinces me people do not watch other teams around the league. If you watch the colts this year a lot of the time Philip Rivers is doing is dump all passes the Hines, dump off pass to Jonathan Taylor, or they consistently run routes 1 yard to 10 yards to get YAC yards. They very rarely take deep shots down field because rivers can’t do that anymore. you wanna know why no one’s heard from TY Hilton until week 14 of the season? rivers can’t throw the ball down the field vertically. It’s been the problem all year. 

so if you believe you can resurrect Carson Wentz not only do you get more years then Philip Rivers but you are probably in a better position to win long term if you get him playing back to where you think you can get him playing.

If Howie and Doug come back I make take a year off of watching football. I mean it doesn't take a genius to look at Doug and realize he's lost. And Howie hasn't done a very good job at all of bringing in young or any talent lately.

the last good Ohio state QB? They’ve basically become the new USC at QB. Surrounded by premier talent in college and then when they get to the NFL they tend to do nothing

So the smart move was to simply play Wentz again vs the Saints so we can watch him go 3 and out till half time again and maybe get us 3 points for the 13th week in a row?

The evidence is right in front of everyone, just some choose to overlook or downplay it for what ever preconceived notions they already had.

The Oline and WR's are the leagues WORST. I dare anyone who can show me a team who has worse and especially worse as a group together (WRS & OLINE) 

Then look at the coaching- against the Seahawks 9 runs 55 Passes, knowing you have Oline Protection issues and questionable Wr's you call only 9 runs, with Sanders, your best Offensive player?   Or you refuse to move the pocket to help your QB and Oline, allow time for WR's to uncover? 

 

No one can tell if Wentz is cooked until you fix the Oline, Wr's and coaching issue, NO QB would do well with this situation. Hurts may fair a bit better by bailing early out of the pocket, but only marginally better.
