Hightower is 6’ 2” and 190.  Watkins is 6’ and 193.   Watkins is plenty big for a Z.  Quez is straight line fast but with a 7.28 three cone and a 4.36 shuttle he doesn’t quite have the quickness I would like to see for the slot.  Hightower is a tad slower straight line but has a faster 7.07 three cone and a 4.21 shuttle. JJAW had a 7.23 three cone and a 4.41 shuttle at his pro day.  Fulgham in contrast had a 6.84 three cone and a 4.22 shuttle. Suggests he and Hightower cut faster than JJAW and Watkins. That is more needed in the slot than outside, IMHO. Reagor, BTW ran a 7.31 three cone and a 4.46 shuttle.   Now that is gym short Olympics but if you run the tape, you see it a bit in their games.  Best ball for Hightower is a leading ball on a slant. Fulgham also excels at cuts.  Feints and burst were Reagor’s forte for separation. Quez relied on his speed.  He may be the least polished of the Eagles WRs.  JJAW on his size. (You see some size in Fulgham’s game at OD but he was raw.)

Problem is that the Press Taylor/current Doug passing attack doesn’t focus on what the WR has a knack for.  They almost expect them to be interchangeable and we saw that with JJAW’s training last year where he was getting all three positions routes.  In contrast, 2017 Doug used Jeffery as an X and some slot.  Agholor played almost exclusively slot and Smith was solely a Y.  I think the injuries in 2018 and 2019 changed that philosophy and has bled into this year.  Doesn’t help that smaller Greg Ward seems to be able to be a bit of a jackknife, although a bit two slow for some of the uses they try for him (encourages them too much without seeming to notice the failures on the sweeps, for example.)  I wonder if too many cooks in the kitchen is hurting them.

I think Press Taylor is a fail.  Scangarello isn’t excelling at red zone.  Not sure what Breiner brings. And MM is a horrible influence.  Lurie pressed Doug on the passing offense with the Groh and Walch moves and the results are an epic failure.   Not sure Doug gets the chance to fix it with a real OC.

I mean all they had to do this off-season was hire a offensive coordinator and they couldn’t even do that properly. Like the fact that they couldn’t even do that properly. Got all these minds together to go to doug shows you how lost this franchise is and how disconnected with reality that they are.  Like how many teams in the NFL do not have an offensive coordinator? That’s a serious question. I don’t know the answer to that question but I’m guessing it’s not many if any at all besides Eagles

I wasn’t really high on Dwayne Haskins when he came out. I just didn’t see it as much as others. Maybe he goes to another team and they figure it out. I thought he was a better version of cardale jones. But when I watch Ohio State I think it’s very deceiving how great their quarterbacks are. They have great talent around them and it makes it much easier for them to look great.

what I call that is the Matt leinart experience.

In that same OSU program, offense and system — Haskins was a better QB than Fields

Wentz after the game: "We lost as a team "

Hurts after the game: "I didn't do enough because we lost."

Those press conferences combined with what we've seen on the field this season, Wentz shouldn't play at all the rest of the season even if Hurts gets injured or plays terribly.

In 2021, ifWentz still continues to be the entitled, arrogant, buck-passing QB he's been for longer than many local folks would like to admit, take the Fing cap hit and dump this goof.

Jesus some of you people are just ridiculous

Wentz has been 100% pure class from day 1. End of story.

Go root for another team please.  Its honestly embarrassing to share a favorite team with "fans" like you

Damn you Carson!

The no 500 yard receiver is and always was meaningless, Wentz had Ertz at 900 yards, Goedert at 600 yards and Sanders at 510, Jeffery gained 490 off 10 games.  San Fran reached a Superbowl with Kittle at 1000yds, Deebo Samuel at 800 and Emmanuel Sanders at 500yards, nobody claims that makes Garoppolo a special QB.

By the way Deontay Burnett, Josh Perkins and Davis combined had 12 touches on the season, the notion they were the receiving corps for even a significant portion of a couple of games is nonsense, never mind the season.

Your Jason Peters point is asinine, they spent a first rounder on Dillard to replace Peters in '19 and he got injured, that isn't sabotage of Wentz.

Wentz is having the worst slump of any QB in the Superbowl era, it is historic, it's not realistic to claim that no star QB ever had to tough it out behind a shonky line or had to work with receivers that weren't pro bowlers, and we're supposed to believe this is all because the Eagles took a back up QB in round 2?

Ok... let's take it point by point.

The stat is meaningless, or shows that he's been dealing with a carousel of subpar WRs for years?  I'll go with column B.

Burnett, Perkins, and Davis got 12 touches, because they suck... or are beyond suck.  The issue isn't the number of touches, but the number of snaps they got.  I'll let you do the research on those numbers... but it was quite high, and that is what they put around Wentz and said... "Go win, big guy."

OL is the key to success in the NFL with a quality QB.  Its because the OL was good in 2019, that Wentz could be functional with garbage at the WR position and win games down the stretch against the NFC LEast opponents.  They lost Vaitai and didn't have a viable plan at Backup OT.  Do you know how I know?  Because when Dillard went down, they had to give in to the extortion of Peters to move to LT.  A little more foresight by the team would have prioritized having a swing OT that they trusted.  Now, we finally got to see Mailata play and its promising.  But, at the time, he had finished the last two years on the IR, without ever getting a snap in a real game.  And you saw their trust in him when push came to shove... he was put out there as a last resort because they had to, not because they wanted to... they kept trotting Peters out there AGAIN, even after we saw Mailata.   Embarrassing.

As to your final point... You recreated a nice straw man, I never said what you claimed.  On the other hand, I did focus on a single move to illustrate (not prove) the hubris of this front office and coaching staff to just assume that they could afford the luxury pick of the QB in Round 2, rather than putting that resource into helping the QB have NFL quality players around him.   If you'd rather, I could focus on the stupid trade (which I was on record against at the time) of trading away draft capital AND cap space to acquire Darrius Slay, where they could have signed a CB free agent instead and used the pick on an offensive weapon... or use the money in the free agent market to sign the guy that they supposedly had been very hot after in Robbie Anderson, rather than adding even more money to the DL overkill... But, why not spend more money on the DL and let the QB have to work with yet another roster retread like Travis Fulgham, when the ancient players that you are counting on in Desean and Alshon prove to be unable to play?   I focused on a single move that showed their hubris regarding expecting Wentz to cover up their pathetic Roster building plans, but it wasn't isolated by any means.   Just one of many.   If you'd like I could lay out all the stupid moves Howie and Doug have made since the final whistle of the Super Bowl... if you rate every move they've made, you'd have a tough time finding half a dozen good moves over the past 3 years.  That's free agent signings, roster construction and draft picks.

Maybe Wentz is finished... but if he is, it's because they broke him.  Combination of bad coaching and bad roster construction.  And that's why I want all these fools on the next train out of town as soon as the final whistle sounds on the season after the Washington game.

I dont disagree with you that Haskins was a better prospect coming into the NFL based off the numbers. I would rather fields then have Haskins though. I really didn’t like Haskins when it came out. To me if I’m picking in this draft (and I’m not getting Trevor Lawrence so I don’t know why people think the jet at one aren’t going to take that guy unless he stays in college which I don’t see him doing) in taking trey lance. I like him way more than fields and Wilson.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/heres-why-aaron-rodgers-went-to-carson-wentz-at-conclusion-of-packers-week-13-win-over-eagles/

"I don't want to talk about what I said to Carson. I feel like there's some things that really just need to stay (to ourselves)," Rodgers said on "The Pat McAfee Show" this week. "I've been meaning to talk to him for a while and I'm glad I got the opportunity to say some things to him because I've always respected his game and been a fan of his game. I think he has a really unique skillset."

"Obviously, this hasn't been a really great year there in Philly. I think there's a lot of factors around him that contribute to that," Rodgers said. "I felt like it was a good, quick conversation and definitely wish him the best the rest of the year because I've been a fan of his since he got in the league and he's had some tough circumstances. I hope things work out for him whether it's there or somewhere else."

I think Howie may be gone, not because of his drafting but because of the contracts.   Hard to say with Lurie.  He is a pretty loyal guy.  We’ll know this offseason.

If eagles end up with 6th pick it should go:

1. Chase

2. Sewell

3. Parsons

unless of course one of those top QB are available, then I think you should consider it.

I'd be amazed if Bengals don't draft Sewell. They need Oline badly.

Disagree completely.

Think of how many top tier WRs in the league like Michael Thomas, Devante Adams, Deandre Hopkins, Metcalf etc were found in the late first/second rounds.

Now think about DEs, LBs, and CBs. Top tier players like Young, Bosa, Kuechly, Ramsey, Lattimore, are almost always only found in the top 10. We need some young studs on defense badly. We haven’t invested more than a 3rd round pick on D in 3 drafts. A top tier player like one of those mentioned at DE, LB, or CB would make a world of difference on this team.

I don't trust Howie to find those gems and I've been scorned too much by Howie for the next GM to do it too

That would be like the ultimate Philadelphia thing to happen. not you murdering people but if he had success going to Dallas

Why would Colts pay Wentz when they can sign Rivers to another 1 year. Rivers destroys Wentz in stats wins leadership this year not even close.

Rivers was always going to be a 1 year stop gap.  The Colts have the pieces to build a multi year contender, you do not do that with 1 year stop gap QB's.

They have the cap room to bring in a QB already under contract, and Wentz cap hits for his new team would be very reasonable.

People should be worried about him going to a few of those teams and having success.

Pats, Steelers, Colts, Cowboys, possibly even Tampa as they have to figure out their future, and Brady may not return without a deep playoff run.

The odds of Wentz having success outside of Philly are significantly higher then they were for Nick Foles.

I'm sure no one cares, but I've noticed here's the typical conversation these days:

Man, Jalen Hurts has a lot of flaws. I don't think he'll be a good.

YOU DAMN WENTZ WORSHIPER. HES THE WORST QB IN FOOTBALL. MAKE MORE EXCUSES.

Man, this team has had a lot of injuries for years. Carson has played like garbage, too.

WENTZ WORSHIPER HE SUCKS THE TEAM DOESNT HAVE INJURIES STOP MAKING EXCUSES.

Wentz has been terrible and needs to be benched.

FING WENTZ WORSHIPPER DEFENDING HIS GOLDEN BOY

Lot of morons these days.

Of course Rodgers was taking a shot at the coaches and GM

Hes dealt with incompetence before, though never to this level.  And Im sure he got a big kick out of watching our defense as they were preparing for that game

To me its both... but for a guy who's supposed strength was the cap... he screwed it up royally.

Oh I think he will have success if he goes to a team like the Niners are the Colts or New England. Because I think they have better talent on those teams. Especially the Colts. Their offensive line might be the best offensive line in the league. You saw when he had a good offensive line he was able to perform at a high-level. They also have play makers on that team. Jonathan Taylor and Hines are good running back‘s. Michael Pittman looks like a legit player in that office even though Philip Rivers can’t roll the ball down the field. They’re  going to get Campbell back next year and your hope that he can stay healthy and be productive. But they can still go out and sign a wide receiver or draft one. And I don’t think Ty Hilton is just washed up. He might not be the player he was but I think a lot of his issues so far this year on the fact Philip Rivers can’t throw the ball further than 10 yards down the field with any consistency

It’s amazing that the Rams are able to win with Goff and Sean McVay adjusting what he really wants to do on offense. I feel that McVay is limited on his playbook with Jared Goff. I think there’s another element to those offense but he just can’t do because Goff is just limited and he has to tailor to that type of offense to fit Goff. I’m pretty positive part of the reason (besides the concussions) Brandin cooks was traded was because he didn’t find his cap value to be justified when they couldn’t use him the way to maximize him with Goff

I did not think that coaches were permitted under NFL rules to do this. :o

Colts also have two really good TE's, will get Marlon Mack back, and their defense is legit.

Wentz is too talented to trade. The best option is to give him a different coach and see what happens first. He’s our 2021 starter unless Hurts plays out of his mind.

"all those qb's in the draft" You got a d2 kid, Dwayne Haskins 2.0 and a Kid from BYU who's literally never faced a good team

You act like its 1983

49ers, Chicago, Colts, Patriots, Falcons would be curious, Saints would be curious, Steelers would be a great fit and the redskins.

I'm a BYU fan, watched Zach Wilson over the years and normally I'd go all Mama Bear and protect one of my Cubs but I just don't see the hype with Wilson.

He's ok. He's athletic and can spin the football and the offense he plays in seems he generally has about 5 seconds every snap to throw the ball against a bunch of crap defenses.

I think he has some good traits I don't think he's a 1st round qb but the league is qb starving every year and hands out big contract to marginal qbs like tannenhill and takes guys like baker mayfield and Sam darnold number one as well so yeah Zach will probably go first round.

If anything id take the byu OC first round. He came from LSU a few years ago and prior to his arrival the byu offense was ugly, he's turned it around there and made Zach Wilson look like a heisman candidate with not a ton of offensive talent around him.

I hope they play Ward at QB against the Cowpies if a draft slot is at stake.
