Hmmmmmmmm  Very interesting choice of words here from Doug.  Like I said before that relationship is over.  Good news/Bad news  Good news one of them will be gone in the offseason   Bad news probably both of them should be gone

You are absolutely right. Sorry for my mistake. Are you bringing the cheese plate to the Wentz worship church tonight, or should I?

No you just bring the wine.

Wentz has been 100% pure class from day 1. End of story.

Go root for another team please.  Its honestly embarrassing to share a favorite team with "fans" like you

The trolls are out in full force.

I think we may be reading too much into Wentz’s benching.   It may be that the feel the best way to cure his case of the yips is to sit him.   This accelerates their leverage to redo his contract to give them cap relief.   I am not convinced he is toast but he has regressed and not grown. He needs to fix that.  Part of that is his leadership approach.  He also needs to work with a guru this offseason. He needs a real QB coach next year. But he is probably our QB next year and I think he can fix most of those issues

I think the move to Hurts also signals the team may be in growth mode.  Use these next few games to learn through playing.  Get him playing experience. It may also signal that, at least next week, the way NO is playing D and the right side of the OL isn’t doing well that the more mobile Hurts is a better choice.  Really hope Herbig starts at RG. I would also like to see Jeffery inactive and Watkins and, yes, JJAW active.  Let them get some plays in.

Challenge Breiner to earn his keep by analyzing which routes better suit which WRs.  You do have to wonder WTF he has been analyzing all year. Maybe 9 coaches involved in the passing game is too many.   In contrast, the Packers sat down with Rodgers and analyzed which plays they excelled at and concentrated on that.  The Eagles need to try some of that.  I suspect that Rodgers talked with Wentz how he approached the Packers selecting a QB in the first and told Wentz to think on that.  The way Rodgers approaches the QB room might be something for Wentz to look at.

Colts also have two really good TE's, will get Marlon Mack back, and their defense is legit.

Marlon Mack is a free agent at the end of the year. But yeah they’re loaded with money to spend and add. And their defense is really good. If slump the last couple weeks but they’ve been pretty good almost all year. That team when you watch them they are a good quarterback away from being able to compete with the Chiefs and beat them when it matters.

eagles fans are not going anywhere, wentz fans can go and kick rocks, you have no spine,  dont freaking care if wentz doesnt move ball and lose games as he's qb, that's a wentz fan. eagles fans support winning.

Wentz should, and probably will, wait this out.  Why give up money?  He has all the leverage and the reality is that the Eagles are more invested in him than all of the coaches combined

It remains to be seen if Lurie is more invested in Carson than Howie, but they probably are at this point.

Money talks.  And there is much more evidence that our coaching and GM sucks than there is that says Carson sucks.

Only a moron would get rid of Wentz and retain these coaches and GM.   Lurie is not a moron, but many fans are

I agree but smart people sometimes do moronic things. I have been guilty myself on several occasions. :angel

Lol if they have Sudfeld active over Wentz just fire everybody now and move to a new city

I hope they play Ward at QB against the Cowpies if a draft slot is at stake.

No you don’t.  He is just the sort of QB that gives the cowpads fits.   Sudfeld.

If Eagles fans support winning you wouldnt support getting rid of Wentz and retaining these garbage coaches and GM

His totally unhinged comments about Wentz are embarrassing

Did the PC broadcast get interrupted or was that just on my end?

Unhinged lunatic

you know what would be the ultimate Philadelphia thing now that I’m thinking about it: they trade away Carson Wentz and he winds up having success elsewhere. Nate sudfeld Sign somewhere to be a back up. The starter gets hurt, Sudfeld goes in there and plays decent. shows that he’s capable of being a good back up quarterback. That my friends would be the full Philadelphia experience

Howie and Doug need to go 100% that’s independent of Wentz future. If they bring in a new regime that wants Wentz I’m fine with it.

The no 500 yard receiver is and always was meaningless, Wentz had Ertz at 900 yards, Goedert at 600 yards and Sanders at 510, Jeffery gained 490 off 10 games.  San Fran reached a Superbowl with Kittle at 1000yds, Deebo Samuel at 800 and Emmanuel Sanders at 500yards, nobody claims that makes Garoppolo a special QB.

By the way Deontay Burnett, Josh Perkins and Davis combined had 12 touches on the season, the notion they were the receiving corps for even a significant portion of a couple of games is nonsense, never mind the season.

Your Jason Peters point is asinine, they spent a first rounder on Dillard to replace Peters in '19 and he got injured, that isn't sabotage of Wentz.

Wentz is having the worst slump of any QB in the Superbowl era, it is historic, it's not realistic to claim that no star QB ever had to tough it out behind a shonky line or had to work with receivers that weren't pro bowlers, and we're supposed to believe this is all because the Eagles took a back up QB in round 2?

The problem with this argument is "or" when we are dealing with "and."

What???

I cant decide if Doug basically has no authority at this point, and just has to wait until someone tells him what to do

Or if he is just scatter brained and lost

Of course Rodgers was taking a shot at the coaches and GM

Hes dealt with incompetence before, though never to this level.  And Im sure he got a big kick out of watching our defense as they were preparing for that game

Aaron Rodgers thinks the guys talented so obviously we should just dump him ... we’d be lucky to get anything for him. 🙄

Howie's only hope is that he can sell that this one event, the apparent total and complete collapse of Wentz, where he somehow completely forgot how to play QB and destroyed the season by himself, was a) totally unforeseeable and b) the primary reason for the collapse of the team.  Furthermore, these other draft picks, draft and FA decisions and veteran contracts are actually all the right decisions, and everything went bad due to injuries and the mysterious, unforeseeable complete and total collapse of Wentz (along with maybe bad coaching thrown in).  If I were the owner I would look at this as someone trying to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge, but Lurie's mind seems to be at least partially warped by his wormtongue assistant.

I don't think the team resurgence will happen with Hurts, because I don't believe in Hurts at all as a starting NFL QB, nor do I believe that the problems are all Wentz.  He was a significant part of the problem, but not the whole story.  He will run around a lot and the team will do better and score more, no doubt, but it's not going to be some miraculous improvement.  I do worry we are now at risk of winning that Cowboy game, which would be harmful and unnecessary.

I think Hurts clearly projects to a high-end backup/low-end starter. How valuable that is is up for debate though. Hurts' leadership & mobility will keep him on rosters for years to come. Look at Colt McCoy in NYG. Hurts isn't there yet though.

I'm in the fire Howie/Doug & trade Wentz camp, but I'm fine letting a new GM make the call.

You might have the least amount of football knowledge of anyone that posts here.  You just wanna bash Wentz, I assume it is because you belong to the cult of Foles.  You never want to discuss the issues with this team, you just run and hide for a week and then come back with the same trolling nonsense.

So I will give you a chance to contribute, lets discuss Eagles problems.

The Eagles are tied for 1st in the NFL in yards per carry, the Eagles are 28th in carries, thoughts ??

Miles Sanders is arguably the best player on offense, he has not had 20 combined touches in his last 7 games, thoughts ??

Eagles have a 25:75 run pass ratio during the current 4 game losing streak, thoughts ??

Hurts is a good player, and hes a fit in this modern NFL

But he doesnt have the top end talent, as you referenced.

Im honestly worried that he develops bad habits now.  His eyes and internal clock are going to be screwed up having to run around immediately on every other play.

Basically the same thing that happened to Wentz.

It was dumb to draft him, dumb to make him the backup when they literally told us he wasnt ready, and dumb to now throw him to the wolves as some sort of useless "spark" when its now clearly too late to actually help the team

I would argue that the only people this move may help are actually Doug and Howie.

2017 Wentz got hurt, Foles wasn’t good vs Oakland or Dallas. Sudfeld threw 1 good pass vs the Cowboys and the talk before the Atlanta game was "we have to start Sudfeld he can make a play or two, it’s our only chance”. Of course, those people have foggy memories now. After all this is the Blog.

Same and same on Hurts. Maybe Hurts can elevate himself to more than that as well. Worth a look now for sure until we get a new regime making adult decisions in the off-season.
