I’ve been a Howie Roseman backer until this season, but the body of work since 2017 has been pretty pathetic — bad drafts, bad contracts, bad player evaluation, bad decisions on bringing guys back, etc.

I’ve said for awhile now that the Davion Taylor pick in the 3rd round was even worse IMO than the Hurts pick in the second.  Those two picks really point out how deluded Howie was (maybe Doug as well) with the talent level on the roster.  Those are draft picks you can defend if the team is coming off a 14-2 season — not back-to-back 9-7 years.

He and Lurie have been together for 20 years; almost as long as Lurie has been the owner, but if Lurie is actually committed to being a winning organization he’s gonna have to give Howie a choice — get reassigned elsewhere in the building with a cushy admin job away from the football personnel decisions, or get fired and go be a football GM someplace else

I was a big reagor supporter and Luke warm on jefferson.

I still hold out that jefferson wouldn't look much better here in this dumpster fire and still I'm getting real close to eating crow and saying I was way off.

Having said that I still think reagor can be salvaged, hopefully.

His game against the Packers was encouraging, not sure why it took til week 12 to give him the ball on a jet sweep or give him a real chance at PR?

Mailata helping dudes up is a rugby thing as Rugby is considered a " Gentleman's" sport. And I'm sure his polynesian upbringing teaches him to respect his elders😁

I don’t think reagor is a bad player. Don’t get that part of it wrong. I think he’s gonna be fine with time. I just didn’t think he was a capable day one starter. if your plan was we’re just gonna rely on DeSean, three rookies and JJAW and Greg ward. You were going to ask for trouble. It was not a very good plan. To me I think if Jalen Reagor gets a full off-season of activities with the team will be fine next year. Will he be as great as jefferson that I doubt.

The reason why I said what I did about him giving up on route and not a good route runner yet was because Daniel Jerimiah talked about that. He talked about how TCU was not very good and their freshman quarterback was awful.  there’s times on where you see him giving a half effort on a route knowing he would likely wasn’t gonna get the ball

Yup I remember seeing that as well, I chalked it up to playing with an atrocious qb and figured with Wentz he'd be better little did I know Wentz would pull a TCU qb impersonation.

Jefferson was definitely the safer pick and he was more game day ready more polished.

Still he's in a pretty cush position with Minny where defenses are stacking the box for cook and rolling coverage to stop thielen.

The one game jefferson played without thielen he only averaged 10 yards a catch and a little over 50% catch rate while the games with thielen he Ave 17 a catch and a little over 70% catch rate.

Small sample size but so is reagors as the offense has been putrid and seems doug has zero ideas on how to effectively use him.

I agree though relying on 3 rookies without camp pre season and ward and desean was dumb. Every one knew Desean would get hurt except for howie apparently and while I like ward he's at best a #4 receiver.

I don't think anyone would have predicted that Wentz and Ertz whom was supposed to pick up the slack would both drop off a cliff.

I'd like to see reagor with a full camp and used properly before I flat out say eagles should have taken jefferson as at the time I thought and still do that reagor had the higher ceiling.

If reagor can put it together I think he can be really good if not he'll go down as another long list of players that woulda could a shoulda.

Well look that's where you and me are different.  I respect your opinion but dont agree.  I just think he'd look foolish demanding a trade now after playing awful all season.

Of course guys have demanded trades when playing like crap and losing their jobs.  I just dont know if I've seen someone play this bad then ask for a trade right away.  You mention Harden who hasnt won anything but yet still puts up huge numbers and is mentioned in MVP talks.  Carson has been given 12 games now to snap out of his funk and he cant.  Even last year he had some bad games but still put out good games too. 

Something isnt right with him.  Of course the O-line issues and lack of WR talent and run game have hurt but even when he has had guys open he isnt accurate.

He doesnt even have to ask for a trade.  If he isnt going to play the Eagles wont keep a $100 million+ QB on the bench.  They will either keep him and be the starter next year or trade him if they feel he isnt the answer.  No way they keep him on the team as a backup.

In fairness, he was always considered a project.  Low floor/high ceiling guy.  At best a year two contributor and special teams for now.

100% correct. My EYES tell me Doug refuses to call more QB roll outs to move the pocket, give time for WR's to get open.When he called those 1 or 2 times a game they usually hit for big gains, problem is, he only called them 1 or 2x a game.
