He 100% needed to be benched others have it’s nothing new. I’m not saying get rid of him but if we are talking accountability, it had to be done. He needs it for himself as well.

When have we benched jeffery and peters? Those two have deserved it for weeks now.

They've had their fair of "misses" but so does every NFL team.

And like I said, I generally agree that projects should probably be taken after the 3rd round.

It's is what it is at this point.

But if Taylor becomes a player, watch out.

The thing is, I think other teams miss with players that just don't pan out.  The Eagles miss on guys because they think they are so smart and can move this safety to linebacker here or add 35 pounds to that guy.  They severely misjudge talent at an alarming rate.

The chances that Taylor becomes a player in this league are slim to none.  Now he has a major knee injury that could hamper the one thing he had going for him which was his athleticism.  The Taylor pick was absolute trash.  When's the last time the Eagles developed a linebacker?  Why would they think that now they can and let's use a 3rd rounder on a guy who they can do that with?  It was such a bad pick.  If he was a 5th rounder I'd be on board.

Speaking of linebackers.  Has Bradley played at all over the last few weeks?  Haven't heard his name at all lately.

Would make me a lot happier if we also didn’t suck

At this point i have no problem benching wentz

Now they better bench JP and Alshon to keep him company

If others are not going to be benched for poor play, it is sending the wrong message.

He hurt his knee in GB, but they didn't say exactly what his injury is (shocking)

Alshon should never play again, Peters ya bench him.

Just did a quick twitter search of " like for retweet for"

Found quite a few instances immediately of retweet leading the way over like.

You just don't want to admit that the majority of the teams fan base still believes in and wants Carson Wentz to be the QB.

Are you suggesting that 12, 231 twitter users are the majority of the teams fan base?

The Thomas, Herremans, Jackson podcast this week was hilarious. They talked about "player only meetings" and just laughed at it for a solid 5 minutes. They said those are "nothing but glorified call out sessions" and how it literally means nothing.

They also ragged on Mailata always helping guys up and I was literally laughing out loud. Luckily I was alone but got a few weird looks from the dog.

What’s the name of the podcast?

And I like that Mailata helps our guys up😕

Avonte maddox sadly i don’t think they can unless they go to jacquet. Which frankly i am fine with as we aren’t winning anything and I’d like to see how he progresses week to week

Most people probably don't even know what that tweet means...I didn't and I've been using Twitter for 3+ years.  It wasn't a poll.

And like the example I gave...I want Hurts to start this week but I'm not sure if Wentz is done as QB of the Eagles either....so I didn't re-tweet it.

Wentz fans will want Wentz no matter what so of course they liked it.

Its called a sample, and that sample is 93% in favor of Carson Wentz.

Mostly just ST's. I think he may have had 10 total snaps on D since the bye.

It was all in good fun. The one part that broke me was Tra saying "anytime you hit the ground just throw that hand up. "And then a Hero comes along" Jordan Mailata will run over to you in slow motion."

He also said he thinks Mailata is playing and developing well enough to be the LT of the future. Needs to work on some thing but he see's the potential there and is impressed.

The problem is, you're supposed to draft these guys when they're still on the board after their grade -- as in "we can't believe this guy is still on the board"

Davion Taylor was 4th round or later in every 7-round mock I can find.  Jalen Hurts was a 3rd round in every 7-round mock I can find.

Donnel Pumphrey had a 6th round grade and the Eagles traded up for him in the 4th round.

The Eagles for the past few seasons have drafted with a "let's be smarter than everyone else and grab this guy early" -- the problem is, nobody else rates these guys so highly, and they have been incapable of developing their draft picks to be any better than their pre-draft grade.  This problem likely goes back at least 6-8 years.

Kelce was a great pick and the exception to the rule, but generally the Eagles err on the other side.

I think you put too much stock on "draft experts" who have no idea how teams have ranked players.  Most of those boards beyond the top 50 players are not at all accurate.  I think the Eagles are drafting according to their board.  I think they are doing a poor job picking between players and effectively evaluating talent on their board.  I mean everyone could see in the first pre-season game that Pumphrey was not an NFL RB. Pumphrey's pick was a scouting failure.  The jury is still out on Taylor.  He has contributed as a ST player.  He looks athletic.  He could develop.  I mean Taylor is a 3rd round type player.  He is an elite athlete but will need development.  I like that type of pick more than a limited athlete who has great vision.  Those players are UDFA's.  I think picking players like JJAW over Metcalf was a scouting failure both on the evaluation of Metcalf and JJAW.  It was also a value failure in that there were good defensive players available at Safety that should have been the pick.  The problem with trading up for Dillard was one where they thought they were smarter than everyone else.  Ultimately, again I think that was more of a failure to do their homework about him.  It's clear they had not looked into him because they believed he was going to be off the board where they might be drafting.  Well it seems like other teams had passed over him for a reason and that was a reason the Eagles should have known.

Alex Singleton was to blame for the TD.

Sometimes I wonder if we should just find the biggest men we can and ask if they want to play offensive line.

knee - he was placed on IR and would be eligible to return week 17.

Nate Sudfeld put more effort into that first pass than Alshon Jeffery in an actual game all season.

No...

It was set up purposely like that for a reason...Twitter interactions. It gets their tweet out there the more you interact. You get those interactions by doing exactly what they did. It’s why they chose that method over an actual Twitter poll. Likes and retweets are weighted higher and putting the more popular person over the "like” icon guarantees more interactions. You guys need to learn how to Twitter.

People are definitely more likely to like something than retweet it as it doesn’t go on the timeline. You can do a Twitter search for whatever you want, that isn’t going to change how twitter works.

Probably amputated it at the knee, he'll have one of those blades that australian sprinter murderer had.

Will be listed on the Injury report as limited participation lower body injury.

Hopefully doesn't lead to murder.

So you are admitting Wentz is more popular, which is what that tweet shows with likes vs retweets

I think we may be reading too much into Wentz’s benching.   It may be that the feel the best way to cure his case of the yips is to sit him.   This accelerates their leverage to redo his contract to give them cap relief.   I am not convinced he is toast but he has regressed and not grown. He needs to fix that.  Part of that is his leadership approach.  He also needs to work with a guru this offseason. He needs a real QB coach next year. But he is probably our QB next year and I think he can fix most of those issues

I think the move to Hurts also signals the team may be in growth mode.  Use these next few games to learn through playing.  Get him playing experience. It may also signal that, at least next week, the way NO is playing D and the right side of the OL isn’t doing well that the more mobile Hurts is a better choice.  Really hope Herbig starts at RG. I would also like to see Jeffery inactive and Watkins and, yes, JJAW active.  Let them get some plays in.

Challenge Breiner to earn his keep by analyzing which routes better suit which WRs.  You do have to wonder WTF he has been analyzing all year. Maybe 9 coaches involved in the passing game is too many.   In contrast, the Packers sat down with Rodgers and analyzed which plays they excelled at and concentrated on that.  The Eagles need to try some of that.  I suspect that Rodgers talked with Wentz how he approached the Packers selecting a QB in the first and told Wentz to think on that.  The way Rodgers approaches the QB room might be something for Wentz to look at.

I'll believe that when I don't see Jason Peters and Alshon Jeffery out there... and when they don't bother to activate Desean from the IR.   Right now, it seems they are in 'save my own ass' mode.
