Robby Anderson wasn't available last year, and while he'd been a good addition, he's taken a major jump away from the Jets, he's not really a deep threat, more of an intermediate route runner.

Anderson v Hargrave this year? Well, top pass rushing DTs are harder to find than WRs, and Hargrave is already graded as our second best pass rusher after a slow start.

The real problem was the Jeffrey extension precluded paying for another WR.

Ironically.. they found a way to pay Desean, despite that Alshon extension.

If rumours are true, the Pats were hot on Hurts and their lack of QB pick afterwards tells a story doesn't it?

this.  i think pats would've drafted hurts if it weren't for the eagles.

Eagles needed to draft LBs who could add speed and upside to the LB group. So who do you draft and when?

Murray #23, Queen @28 are starting, that's pretty much it, not a lot of rookie LBs getting a lot of PT.

#27 Brooks 21 tackles

#60 Uche 3 tackles

#63 Gay 18 tackles

#74 Baun 6 tackles

#84 Lewis 3 tackles, 2 sacks

#87 Jennings 3 tackles

#97 Phillips 5 tackles

#98 Harrison 21 tackles

#102 Highsmith 16 tackles, 1 sack

#103 Taylor 7 tackles

#119 Walker 23 tackles

#132 Dye 10 tackles

#140 Quarterman 4 tackles

#162 Hudson 3 tackles

#178 Strnd (cut)

#183 Brown 4 tackles

#196 Bradley 5 tackles

Yes, for years.

Would another team have drafted Hurts if we didn't? I'm asking if he missed an opportunity to start the season on a different team

Eventually.

People forget but there was also a rumor that the Eagles were flirting and thinking about taking Jordan love at 20. Adam caplan put that out there that they had interest in Jordan Love

That would have gotten the Linc burned down.

Great job Howie.

Yup Kelces words speak volumes.

As for how Wentz and Cox are friends last I heard they are both avid hunters and go out and shoot stuff together.

Maybe they can take Howie with them...

Or they could go fishing....

All of these QBs that played in the NFL for years and years at high levels (Palmer, Rodgers, Romo, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some) that keep going out of their way to let people know that this isn't all Wentz's fault have no clue what they're talking about.  I trust the window lickers in the blog that it's all Wentz's fault and nothing else!  He should be able to win despite the worst coaching in the league, the worst protection in the league, and the worst receivers in the league!

As for Kelce, he has the tenure and the intelligence to say what he wants, as Cox does.

The stupid trade for Tate and the same for Avery cost the team dearly in both youth and draft manoeuvrability at a time where the team was behind the 8 ball.  The way this drama is steadily unfolding is a tale of an organisation at civil war with itself and in some respects, taking the most valuable player on the roster and allowing him to regress to the point where his future is in question. It's mad to say that.  Our 2020 Eagles, right there

Well, if he really really really wanted to, he would.

I did not think that coaches were permitted under NFL rules to do this. :o

Someone please alert Zach Ertz that after every single catch he makes in his career (except the SB) that it's clearly not a rule to fall down and curl into the fetal position!

Potentially but they did also pass on him at first too.

He was never a 1st round QB, IMHO anyway. Draft was too strong in other areas.

Makes sense, and certainly I suspect part of what Rodgers said to Wentz...  Go out there, do what you do and don't let the rookie rule your mind.  As hard as that is

I'll always appreciate Malcolm Jenkins, but he was a declining player who wanted a raise. The Eagles said no, and Malcolm took less money from the Saints. So Howie was correct on his value.

Anderson not a deep threat? I guess you haven’t watched him much. Anyone would take a major jump leaving the Jets. More of a reason to sign him.

Call it for what it is. Hargrave is another overpaid FA bust. Just like Malik Jackson.

The Eagles have 5 pass rushers with over 200 rush attempts with a 70+ grade. Brandon Graham: 82.8 Javon Hargrave: 79.6 Fletcher Cox 74.3 Josh Sweat: 72.3 Malik Jackson: 71.2
That's before the GB game and including his first half when he was still adjusting from Pitt 2 gap to Schwartz attacking 1 gap.

This listing has Hargrave 7th among NFL DTs.

Now Malik, well, why you don't pay money to a guy past his prime and hope he bounces back, these are the kind of guys you sign to one year deals after someone else overpays then cuts him a couple years later.

I just kind of feel bad for the rookie being thrown into this QB controversy. Not his fault our GM is an idiot that drafts a QB instead of someone to help Wentz

Yup... which is why its Howie and Doug or me... They go or I do.   Your move, Jeffery.

Replace Malik, with Desean... it's UNBELIEVABLE!   We agree.

Agreed.  Hurts is also in an unenviable position... and he'll likely be running for his life on Sunday.

I didn't need to.  I remembered, because you claimed something to be fact that has no basis, I called you out on it and am seeing that after that you've tried to backtrack so that you don't have to actually say, "I made it up."

bye bye

oh really "You remembered” huh? You weren’t even a part of that conversation and I know that because you didn’t even make your initial reply to me until like two hours later. & I didn’t make any thing up but whatever you say man.

Nate Sudfeld put more effort into that first pass than Alshon Jeffery in an actual game all season.

I bet Carson would make a menacing LB.

A bird in the hand is worth two broken QB's in a bush, or something.

Wrong again.  I replied to your initial comment with "How many times have you been to practice?"  But hey... you've been to practice, so you've clearly seen Carson acting like an a-hole there.  You were an eyewitness to history!  Wear your badge proudly.

Howie's been GMing to recapture a moment and then lurched when he realised how bare the cupboard has gotten. No sense of plan from the GM and enough reason for any GM to be asked to move on.  Just not good enough anymore.

My biggest concern is Lurie won't be able to get rid of another General as it will be the last lifer he has available to him.  I just don't see Howie being a viable GM to a new HC - word will have gotten out about his working way.
