Neither here nor there, but I’m not at all looking forward to watching Hurts play.

I hate that he’s starting. I hate that he’s even on the team.

This is the same place I am in.

Just don't hate the kid, it's not his fault Howie and Doug are idiots.

Wrong again.  I replied to your initial comment with "How many times have you been to practice?"  But hey... you've been to practice, so you've clearly seen Carson acting like an a-hole there.  You were an eyewitness to history!  Wear your badge proudly.

No no no, my point is you were not even apart of that conversation. I specifically remember you not being part of that conversation because I remember thinking to myself at the time where is that igglesphan guy, that guy is always in here.

Howie's been GMing to recapture a moment and then lurched when he realised how bare the cupboard has gotten. No sense of plan from the GM and enough reason for any GM to be asked to move on.  Just not good enough anymore.

My biggest concern is Lurie won't be able to get rid of another General as it will be the last lifer he has available to him.  I just don't see Howie being a viable GM to a new HC - word will have gotten out about his working way.

I see Lurie just moving him to somewhere else vs outright firing him. It would be the wrong decision, but I have no reason to believe Lurie will nuke everything to the ground. He will Joe Banner him around the FO. It's the wrong decision, but I think the most likely. Which means you need to hire a GM that can get a long with him.

So back the brink trucks up for Daniel Jeremiah. Give him the keys to kingdom and whatever money he wants to leave NFLN.

While I think it's time to move on from Howie and Peddy, I also think it's a great opportunity for a young GM/HC combo to do a quick turnaround - there's actually a bunch of talent left even after you move out the obvious veterans.

2021.  DeSean, Peters, Malik and Jeffrey gone. Ertz traded. If the cap permits, I hold on to Lane and Brooks if their physicals are fine, both are top 5 if healthy.

QB: Wentz, Hurts

RB:  Sanders, Scott, Howard/power back

WR:  Reagor, Fulgham, Hightower, Watkins, Ward, add a veteran WR on one year deal or draft pick

TE:  Goedert, ??? , Rodgers/Perkins, need a #2, Rodgers can't block so you need someone who can backup Goedert

OL:  Mailata - Seumalo/Driscoll - Kelce/Seumalo - Brooks - Lane, Dillard, Herbig, Prince, Juriga, Toth, draft a guard [Pryor gone, will Kelce return?]

DL:  Graham - Hargrave - Cox - Barnett, Ridgeway, Williams, Sweat, Ostman [Curry, Avery probably gone]

LB:  Edwards, Singleton, Taylor, Bradley, Riley [Gerry gone]

CB:  Slay, ???, Maddox, LeBlanc, Jacquet, Arnold, - need a starting CB

S:  McLeod, Wallace, Mills, Epps, Ford - need a FS to groom to replace McLeod

This wouldn't be a great team, but it would be competitive in a relatively weak division with the right HC.

Won't have the money to sign even 2nd tier FAs, but smart GM only needs to find a few hidden gems among SFAs and UDFAs.

By 2022, a good chunk of the cap overhang will be gone, and you can look at moving out some of Brooks, Lane, Graham, Cox, Slay to make cap room.

The biggest needs are #1 WR, #2 TE and starting CB, otherwise young depth to develop.

Why would anyone hate Hurts? Lol

He has NOTHING to do with what is happening. He’s not some bum.

All of these QBs that played in the NFL for years and years at high levels (Palmer, Rodgers, Romo, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some) that keep going out of their way to let people know that this isn't all Wentz's fault have no clue what they're talking about.  I trust the window lickers in the blog that it's all Wentz's fault and nothing else!  He should be able to win despite the worst coaching in the league, the worst protection in the league, and the worst receivers in the league!

You forgot to mention the window licking GM.

He shouldn't be on the team.  He is and I can at least see what he looks like as a player.  I mean if he's good that's great.  If he plays up and down (which I expect) I think it reinforces some of the same issues that we have all seen that go beyond the position.  There's a talent and coaching problem on the team.

Everyone keeps saying they should have given Wentz help instead of drafting Hurts, well, the three guys starting after he was picked are a safety and two RBs. Obviously, if we're not using Sanders/Scott, another RB wouldn't have been a big difference maker. And that was high to pick a OG given at the time, we had two solid starters, and added Driscoll in the 4th round to develop behind them. So that whole argument falls apart - the only value that pick would have had was on defense.

I'm happy to see Hurts start, I don't expect much, but he was drafted to provide a backup who could win off the bench, and getting a few starts at the end of his rookie year is great experience in that role. Unless a new QB coach really revamps his mechanics (quicker release and more velocity) he's not going to start for long in the NFL, but he has the skill package to steal games off the bench.

A 28 year old who got QB money? Wouldn't that be in conflict with other popular Eagles complaints?

I don’t. I want him to do well. I’m still an Eagles fan. Just an angry and embarrassed one.

@In2football Eagles 23, Saints 20.  We upset the Saints and get our last win of the season.

I'd say the Redskins fot the best of this deal.

I appreciate your attempt to spin that pick as anything but daft and dumb.

Don’t give me wrong like I’m mad at the Eagles. But I’m flat out in barest by the Phillies. They had a seven-year rebuild and have basically Bohm and Spencer Howard to show for it. Bayside Bryce Harper and now are crying they lost 145 mil this past year while laying off 80 employees but keeping the two stooges mcphailure and Klentak on the payroll. And traded away one of their best prospects for a catcher who walking away after two years. All while John Middleton billionaire himself and saying he’s going to spend stupid money to win a title here. They embarrass me to be a fan

People complain when its Alshon Jeffery and his impressive 15 yards on the season. No one would be complaining about a guy with over 1,000 yards 3/4 through the season.

Yeah I Smith is a massive upgrade. I think people forgot Washington before he got hurt was actually in first place that year. And Alex Smith isn’t a bad quarterback. He was prior to the injury a 13 to 20 range quarterback that can win games. he just isn’t going to win you a Super Bowl because it’s not good enough to do that

Its the Phillies.  You come to expect it.  They werent the first professional franchise with 10000 losses by accident you know.  They've perfected ineptitude and malpractice.

I was all for not trading for Darius Slay if it meant they could’ve traded for DeAndre Hopkins. I thought DeAndre Hopkins had at least 5 prime years left. his game does not rely on speed and he is a great route runner and can go up to get the ball. To me if they had the chance to get (in my opinion) the best wide receiver in the NFL instead of Darius slay I would’ve chosen go get DeAndre Hopkins even if it cost us the 20th overall pick. I would’ve had the best wide receiver in the NFL

I know they said we talk to them but I don’t know what they asked for. However I would’ve even considered trading a 3rd round pick and Miles Sanders if they came to us and said we want Miles Sanders and a third round pick (assuming obrien wanted a RB) because Bill O’Brien was an idiot. And I would’ve just went into the draft and got myself another running back like Dobbins at 53
