He literally lined up on the wrong side of the field. And that was your 4th and goal play call.

How is that a coaching issue?

Given all the articles/podcasts I've consumed, the consensus is that Howie is returning. That will make the board crash.

Honestly, if he switches gears, hes quite capable. Lurie probably realizes that. Its not as if he doesnt know how to be cap savvy. He just spent foolishly thinking he could extend or re-open the superbowl window. If he has realized that is closed and we need to enter the rebuilding phase, he can do that.

Id have no concern over that.

Youll have your Howie draft doubters, but his guys are in their rookie season. The jury is still out on that and I dont mind seeing a second one.

Something to consider- why hire a new GM right now and have strapped with the cap? What can he do for you in this situation? Its a total waste. You think we can hire Dimitrof and say sorry you cant sign anyone. We have no cap space. What good is that hire then?

Even if you are resigned to firing howie you may let him be the one to suffer through the necessary frugality for the next year or 2. As the owner you meddle and dont allow him to sign any high priced free agents, few, if any long term extensions. No restructures pushing money to future years. And once there is flexibility in spending you can get your new GM and give him that maneuverability to play with.

People on here always point out that it seems like many of the players aren't being used properly.  So what if Howie is picking good players ( not all of course, JJAW I'm looking at you) but they just arent being used to their strengths.  What if a new HC could change all that?  It's been beaten to death that we passed on Metcalf and Jefferson the last 2 drafts.  Its also been pointed out that both those guys might not be having the same success if they were here and that's a fair point.

Jenkins is the far less talented Eagle version of Lebron James.

The only good decision Howie has made in the last 4 years was letting Jenkins walk.

I'm not sure he would have made a difference as far as wins and losses.  The defense might have been a little better but what good is it when your offense struggles to score 20.

One hook to McNabbs stomach and he'll be puking his guts out.

He’s better even now than any Safety we have on the team...

Well... not only did the Eagles draft the wrong guys... they are doubling down on the wrong guys by not knowing how to use them.

And can we stop with the 'Howie knows what he's doing' nonsense?  He traded for a guy (Tate) that his OC admitted that the coaching staff had no idea how to use.   That's an embarrassment.  So, what does Howie do after that?  He trades for another guy (Avery) that it is clear that our DC doesn't know how (or doesn't want) to use.   We had a really nice game against SF, and he immediately was placed in the witness protection program.   What is going on with that?

Howie is capable?   Nah.  A capable GM identifies the players that fit the system that the coach uses, and the coach is capable if he can find a way to maximize the ability of the players that the GM brings in.   Neither Howie or Doug have shown the ability to do that or work together, I say, we give them one more team project to do together... they can clean out their offices on the same day and see who gets to the parking lot first.

The fans that are turning on Wentz are the same people who would dump their puppy at the shelter for pissing and shitting on the carpet. Please have patience with Wentz

If my dog still crapped the bed after 5 years and cost me $30million per year, I’d definitely dump him at the shelter.

Just saying if your dog was still doing that after five years then maybe you didn’t do a very good job with your dog in training.

Actually kind of reminds me when mcnabb lost to tampa bay and then the following year he started off 0-2 and everyone wanted to trade him cause they thought he and the team were done. Let me tell you that was fun times on the board

One of Howie's best skills is trades. Even with the current issues, he's still good at that. I do think if this team commits to a full rebuild, that Howie would get as many picks as he can for players.

I have no desire to see Howie in charge of a "reset".

Which trade was better:  Tate or Avery?

we probably needed a competent coaching staff to find out.

I 100% Blame Schwartz for Avery. Avery plays one full game this year and gets 2 sacks, then never sees the field.

Tate cost a 3rd, but brought back a 4th round comp pick. Is the delta (deviation) between the two picks worth one playoff win? We don't beat Chicago without him.
