again i have no problem with reagor. We knew what his flaws were coming into the draft and i still of the belief he will be fine. However i was also of the belief he was going to be inconsistent and struggle his rookie year due to no offseason activities and he wasn’t nearly as polished.

For this year, Reagor needed (still needs) a coach who knows how to maximize what he can do.  For the future, he needs a full offseason working on his technique, his effort and still needs a coach who knows how to maximize what he can do.

I'll give you credit there...you were the only one:lol:

Nah, here were some others.   Ruggs had a Darrius Heyward-Bey type smell to him.   Difference for him and Bey, is that Ruggs played at Alabama and put up big numbers, but had the likes of Juedy, Waddle and Smith also drawing attention from the opponents.

Jefferson also had the added benefit of Marshall and Chase on the LSU offense, but watching Jefferson, you could see he had a route tree.

Don’t disagree with that. i do believe a coach who used him more properly would get more out of him in a multitude of different ways

However i think the flaws he had in college and the flaws he has now (same ones Daniel Jeremiah talked about per-draft) the coaching definitely needs to be better but without an offseason to work on his own flaws i kind of expected him to struggle fixing them entirely his first year. That’s why i harped on it was a bad plan not to sign a veteran like Anderson and on top of it all get a receiver who in time can be very good but wasn’t as polished as you liked to start day 1 and be reliable. Coaching has definitely not helped the situation.

In other news... did anyone else hear the rumor that the NFL is looking to extend every weekend of football, because of how popular these games on strange days has been?

There's talk of each weekend of game going from Thursday through Tuesday!   That sounds nuts to me, and would be the worst move they could make, in terms of player safety, unless they increase the bye weeks and time the bye carefully to allow for this sort of thing.

You could take Desean off the roster and input Anderson and the cost difference would be unmeasureable.  The production difference would be immense.   And ironically, signing Anderson eliminates the knocks on Jefferson not fitting here.  Anderson becomes that "Z" that you want to 'take the top off the defense' and then Jefferson as either an X or even a pure slot would give the team 2 legit WRs ready to go Day 1.  Because Jefferson really was the most NFL ready player of the draft.

Good work, Howie.

I distinctly remember you saying you weren't high on Ruggs (The reason I remember it is because it somewhat shocked me at the time).

Others wanted Lamb and/or Jeudy over Ruggs but I don't remember anyone else saying they wouldn't take Ruggs after those two were gone.  (Other than you).

Wow.  Got replaced with a future NFL roster around him.

Got replaced by a guy who went #5 in the draft as a junior. Alabama has different standards than other college programs!

I'm not in PA so I could be wrong but I think that was for schools. I just looked it up and I'm seeing pro sports are good to go with no fans.

So were the Jets offering Anderson at a bargain price in 2019 with one year left on his contract?

As a fan I would like it but I tend to agree, they would need to work the schedule for the benefit of the players.  And wouldn't the player's association need to "sign off" on it?

Is there "wording" about it in the current agreement?

It would be a great idea, NFL is king.  But I will wait to get excited until @Wallyhorse consults the NCAA and local law makers.

Fair enough. I'd much prefer to see Jacquet. We know what Maddox is... Useless on the outside but potentially OK in the slot or even at safety. Why this coaching staff fails to see that is beyond us.

Maddox is useless? Do you remember Bradley Fletcher? Were you ever here for the days of Cary Williams, Byron Maxwell or Nolan Carroll?  It seems to me that Maddox isn't as bad as any of those players.  He's undersized but athletic.  I think the scheme makes it difficult for him but he's not useless.

Doesn't apply to pro sports

Or hear me out cause i said this multiple times during the offseason.... sign him. I know crazy idea. When he sat on the market and his price began to drop you go sign a guy that for about 3 months straight i said would be a huge addition.

i know crazy idea Dave.

Right now, Agholor is the better player.

Well.....yeah I guess so.  One is in his 6th year.  The other is in his 6th game in the worst situation possible.  But for him to continuously post that "Reagor sucks" after this small sample size is jumping to conclusions........hence my witty gif.

Idk pretty damning he’s gotten worse every year and his current pff is 36.2. One of the worse grades for any starter on Pff.

Could have taken Claypool instead of Reagor and it would have been better.

Claypool was a projected 3rd-5th round pick.

When he was drafted in the 2nd round, both @ManuManu and I were shocked in disbelief.  But we both said that if the Steelers picked him, watch out....because the Steelers rarely miss with those type of WR's.

Name one single thing about the 2020 Eagles that argues for the retention of Roseman.

He will release Lurie's pee tape if he's fired.

Walter Football had him ranked 6th, Aiyuk 7th and Reagor 8th.  Based on what we have seen, those rankings are very accurate.

He was a free agent at the start of this year... and stayed on the market for a long time.

If the NFL can squeeze more money from the TV networks to have more games be nationally televised, I think the NFL PA will take the deal with more money going to the cap.

Yeah I didn't follow that site as closely this year because of the insane amount of "pop up ads" all over the place.  What's up with that?

He moved up after his measurements came out. He was in the late 2nd to 3 round by most accounts. Were some people thought at his size he might be better off transitioning to TE.
