Were some people thought at his size he might be better off transitioning to TE.

Yeah I didn't follow that site as closely this year because of the insane amount of "pop up ads" all over the place.  What's up with that?

If you use chrome download the ublock extension.  Makes that site have no pop ups.

Or hear me out cause i said this multiple times during the offseason.... sign him. I know crazy idea. When he sat on the market and his price began to drop you go sign a guy that for about 3 months straight i said would be a huge addition.

i know crazy idea Dave.

But... they couldn't sign him, because they were locked in to Alshon and Desean with too much money locked up.  Howie only drops money on a 3rd big money deal at the DT position... where we already had Cox and Jackson, but needed to get Hargrave, as opposed to investing in weapons for your franchise QB, when you knew that Alshon was coming off an injury and wouldn't be healthy to start the season.   Of course, had Howie not been stupid with BOTH those contracts, he could have gotten out of both of them without much dead cap space and brought in Anderson easily.   Like I said, trading for Desean was dumb.  Trading for Desean and then giving him a new deal was dumber.  If they had him on his Tampa deal, he could have been dropped for ZERO dead money and signed Anderson, easy peasy.

Idk pretty damning he’s gotten worse every year and his current pff is 36.2. One of the worse grades for any starter on Pff.

I mean he's going to look bad if he's giving up easy completions because Schwartz has him lined up 9 yards off a receiver on 3rd and 4.

It says, "It will read and change all of the data on the websites you visit"   I'm not going to come on here one day and see some of my posts saying I'm a Raiders fan now, will I?  :P

Honestly i made the point i didn’t care what they had invested in desean and alshon. You couldn’t trust them so you had a major void. Also both are gone after this year anyway so you were going to have little money invested into the WR position anyway heading into 2021 and just invested with draft picks at the end of 2020. JJAW, Ward, reagor, Hightower, fulgham and Watkins are the only ones back next year. It’s not a ton of money invested. So you bite the bullet for one year overpaying the position cause you backed yourself into the corner with alshon and desean but at least you’d be helping your QB and the offense in terms of reliability week in and week out Anderson plays and had solid numbers considering Gase is a moron and what the Jets had around him.

It blocks pop ups, it is awesome.  It was recommended by someone on this site.

Yup.   But we had to get another DT...

It’s not all Schwartz. Some yes. However is also not that good. The eagles continue to spin it like he is. There’s times where he is beaten badly downfield giving up cushion to start and just gets burned. You aren’t a 36 because of him Schwartz alone. Even douglas and jones werent that awful.

Name one single thing about the 2020 Eagles that argues for the retention of Roseman.

I posted a laundry list of Roseman's accomplishments for IP the other day.  He's really only had 2 years since the Super Bowl win....and the jury is still out on this year's draft, imo.

3 offseasons and 3/4 of a 3rd season.

I don’t get the Dillard hate.   He looked good at LT when called to sub last year.  Can’t fault him for the injury this year.  Same journalists that were talking down about him during camp were also bashing Mailata.

It’s about him defeating himself before he even stepped on the field at RT be Seattle. It was pathetic.

The fact that the Eagles moved Peters and gave him more money to play LT over Mailata pretty much confirms they were right about Mailata...

Or... that they were scared of Peters...  Mailata's in game performances have been very encouraging.

I don't know what the rating is based on for him.  I think some of it is due to penalties and he's drawn calls that were simply bad calls.

In game, but obviously not in camp.

Idk ive been on this boat last year. Before sendejo destroyed him he was last in the league for slot corners in receptions, yards against and touchdowns.

not obviously to those who reported... these are the same guys telling us how great the Eagles WRs were a few years ago, right?

Personally i wasn’t thrilled with the pick.
He was an older prospect. I got why they did it and that he was a need and likely best available prospect where they were picking. However i was concerned about his age and the fall from fringe top 10 to 20s. I asked why he fell if he was this great tackle in a league that’s desperate for tackles. Add on the athletic story about his background also didn’t make me love the pick. Also didn’t like rumors came out we really didn’t do much scouting on him prior cause we didn’t think he’d be available. I thought he was ok at LT last year.

i can understand why people were excited. I just wasn’t one of them. I actually liked Ezra Cleveland this year with his athleticism and upside more as a prospect then dillard tbh.

As GM, Howie Roseman's biggest mistake has been maintaining the big picture of how the roster is built and maintained.  From the trading of draft picks, to FA contracts, to extensions, he's accountable for it all and that has been his biggest failure. Was there a plan?

Further, has the GM supported the HC with all his decisions and allowed the best possible team to be put our each game week/year?  3 years after a Super Bowl and I think we've met a place where it's hard to say yes.

There has been a lot of smoke and mirrors and self sniffing, but frankly, the Eagles roster and cap position is a massive mess and no amount of hiring from the Ravens can get away from the fact that the person responsible for personnel has dumped the Eagles in cap hell and flopped about from philosophy to another trying to find the right mix.

2017 was great, but it was 2017. What have you done for me lately?

Couldn't that bode well for Dillard?

If a 7th round draft pick, who never played football in his life, can become a solid starter at tackle... halfway through the same season (where reporters were bashing him in camp) can't a 1st round draft pick, with Pedigree (who has looked ok when given the chance) also turn it around and become a player?

Especially with a guy like Stoutland training him?

I'm pretty sure a lot of the "Dillard hate" started when someone leaked that he had some sort of breakdown in practice or before a game, or something along those lines.   Which, if it is the case, is nothing more than a form of "bullying" imo.

We currently have the NFL's best guard in Brandon Brooks who also likely had similar types of issues before he was diagnosed and treated.  I'm glad they didn't give up on Brooks as fast as some want to give up on Dillard.

(This is in no way making light of Brooks' condition, I'm just pointing out that most reporters aren't psychologists and to come out and bash a guy as being "mentally weak" is beyond reason for a 2nd year player, especially given the history of treatable psychological conditions).

And that's assuming the report was remotely accurate and/or that he even needs to be treated.  There's a better chance that it was a non story that someone decided to run with to get clicks, imo.  SMH.
