You must think Wentz is playing....

No he probably remembers Hurts threw 42% completion rate, 1 td, 1 int, and took 3 sacks in less than a half against a much worse defense.

Could be worse he could fumble 55 times in 64 games.... Or lead the league in turnovers....Or throw a league leading 15 ints in 12 weeks....Or lead the league 23 turnover worthy plays....Or have a league low 49.2 QBR this season for starting QBs over 5 starts.....Do I have to keep going I think you get the point....

Hurts has a bad half a game against top level competition and gets benched  =  he sucks.

Wentz has a bad season against every level of competition and gets benched  =  it's not his fault.

I didn’t say anything about Wentz. All I said was 10 points against the Saints defense is fair for what we saw from Hurts.

But go ahead and keep crying.

And not be a rookie thrown into his first game to clean up a mess

And I dont t hink he forgot how to do that. I think Lurie just has to demand that he shifts back in to that rebuild mode.  And that might be what happens. Get a coaching staff that can coach talent rather than waste it and the problems might be solved.

The best course of action is to start over. Sorry Afan, but that means firing Howie.

Guys...I wouldn’t take that Cox thing too seriously. They are farming for interactions. Twitter polls do exist. If I were a player, I’d troll fans by liking a tweet too.

Oh c’mon. You’ve been saying to give him a chance for weeks. You’re making an excuse for him already? The whole F’ing organization is a mess.

What excuse? Showing his stats to make him look like he is bad is toxic and wrong when he is a rookie just starting out. I had to read a years worth of Wentzcuses.

It would seem to be fair to judge Hurts on his play while he’s been given this opportunity.

It would also seem fair to give Dillard a chance to play full time before labeling him "mentally weak”

Truthfully I didnt want him when he was drafted. I’ll admit he did have me believing for for a little while but then I saw the problems I had with him coming out of college creep up and now I’m hoping for a complete change. Howie, Doug and Carson can go....

Thrown into a game to clean up a mess. Hurts has been named starter, now is his chance to go play.

Who do you want at QB in 2021 and moving forward?

i hope hurts plays well

because i am an eagle fan

if he doesnt, he will have most of the same reasons as wentz had to not play well (worst oline and wrs in the nfl, alshon, JP, doug refusing to run the ball, move the pocket- unless doug suddenly changes, some of the worst starting field position, the most drops in the nfl etc.)

and one more reason to not play well

he is a rookie starting his first game

for me this isnt Hurts vs wentz, maybe because i can clearly see the whole team is bad and this isnt just a wentz issue

however, some people are very narrow minded and see only their pre conceived notions.

You guys are missing the point.

It's much more nuanced than what a lot of folks believe.  The examples I gave of Shawn Andrews wasn't in relation to "whether or not" he had some psychological issues, it was with the way the media reacted to it.  (And from what I remember, it was a very similar situation to how the media is reacting now with DIllard.)

Shawn Andrews would miss time here and there and there were rumors that he was, "soft" or that he was "mentally weak" etc etc.  Well, in his case, as talented as he was, that was some of the things he cited as a reason for retiring at such a young age, while still in his prime.  When some are in that state of mind, (some) may take things the media says to heart...whether it's true or not.

Brandon Brooks has been very open about his condition and has been accepted with open arms by just about everyone in Philly and/or the media.  That's a great story and should be the way we treat all players that may (or may not) have a condition.  (At the very least, wait until all the facts come out, etc before just "assuming" a player is "weak minded" because it could be something else...especially when there seems to be some sort of history of it).

That's my 2 cents.

I’m not missing any point. I’m being very literal that this happened with Dillard and he openly spoke about it. That’s it. I didn’t say it means anything significant one way or the other.

I dont think its worth it right now to hire a new GM who will be cap strapped for the next 2 years.

Doug is playing Hurts to save his job.  Or at the very least, look good to whatever team he goes to next year.

But if Hurts looks good and Doug does his job, then everyone is going to question why he couldn't do that with Wentz.

I’m sure this has been mentioned. If Doug isn’t here next year would anybody be interested in Josh McDaniels?

Ew

Who on the blog called him mentally weak? I know I said was he fell from the top 10 pick to where we were able to go up and get him in the 20s. my point was this was known about him at other levels and maybe that’s why the Eagles had an opportunity to get him. Meanwhile teams picking higher had more on on him then what the Eagles did especially considering there was a quote from stoutland/eagles saying they didn’t expect him to be there so they didn’t do as much as those other teams.

That doesn’t mean he can’t be a good player but it just means there could be concerns over it happening again last year with the eagles and maybe why he fell to the Eagles.

i could tell, you believe this one year of what you are seeing is the real wentz, vs the other years he played well (3-4) was just a fluke

in spite of the fact we have had the worst oline and wrs in the league this year, the most drops, our run/pass ratio the past 4 games is 25%run/75% pass.

this is the real wentz?

ok... if thats what you believe, we disagree

Yes, but there is the matter of the draft.
