BTW... watching the Patriots... this is not a well coached team.   They are just terrible.   How did they get 6 wins?

When I was watching the game start and they did the starting lineups, I honestly never heard of most of those guys.

They got good RBs and Cam obviously with Gilmore and McCourty on defense.  Everyone else I've never heard of.

I am willing to bet that Jared Goff does not finish with more than 29 pass attempts by the end of this game

I’m sure this has been mentioned. If Doug isn’t here next year would anybody be interested in Josh McDaniels?

Who on the blog called him mentally weak? I know I said was he fell from the top 10 pick to where we were able to go up and get him in the 20s. my point was this was known about him at other levels and maybe that’s why the Eagles had an opportunity to get him. Meanwhile teams picking higher had more on on him then what the Eagles did especially considering there was a quote from stoutland/eagles saying they didn’t expect him to be there so they didn’t do as much as those other teams.

That doesn’t mean he can’t be a good player but it just means there could be concerns over it happening again last year with the eagles and maybe why he fell to the Eagles.

Not by you, but it was said.

Don’t wish to call people out but let’s just say there are some folks on here who launch constant attacks on certain Eagles players — plural

That’s kind of been my feeling the whole time. I do think they’ll get to a point if this continues where he would fire howie. He eventually got to that point with Joe banner so I don’t think it’s out of the realm he gets there.

I don't think it's a matter of "loving" Howie, rather, Howie never really got a shot, first AR was in control, then Kelly, only in 2016 did he have a real GM's authority. Built a SB winner, the question is whether his moves since 2017 were his initiative, or Lurie's desire for a repeat. And if Lurie supported the extensions (keep the gang together) he won't hold Howie responsible. We just don't know, and I doubt anyone outside of those two, even in the organization, really knows.

Howie could have told Jeff, if we mortgage the future we have a chance to go back the next couple years and Lurie signed off.

Or Howie might have told him it's an aging team and Lurie said let's give it one more shot before I have to live through a five year rebuild.

Or Howie told Jeff "I've got this under control, don't worry."

If Howie screwed up, it'll be time to move on, if Howie did what Lurie wanted, after warning him of the consequences, he'll run the rebuild.

Man I’ve seen suggestions for McDaniels as HC and Patricia as DC on these boards.  I think that would be my quitting point.

But is it worth it to keep the guy who got you into this situation and allow him to make moves to try to get you out of this situation which means further restructuring current players?

Of course you do.  You hire the same bad contractor that caused a flood in your kitchen due to bad fixes to put your kitchen back in order, because... he knows how to do it, he just chose to take shortcuts and half measures.  He'll do it right this time.

We have Schwartz, Patricia wouldn’t be any worse.

I want Joe Brady before the Falcons get him

Nah, they just have 0 talent on offense and a bunch of opt-outs on defense.

I agree with the 0 talent on offense, but I also just watched both the RB and the LT watch the DE go in untouched for a sack on Newton.  The LT and RB... neither even looked at him, and neither one blocked anyone.

Bill Belichick is really good against rookie quarterbacks. Herbert last week was completely lost out there. Also got the Jets being the Jets. Then kingsbury isn’t a very good coach and the cardinals notoriously don’t travel well to the east coast. Gotta also remember beat the dolphins week one and Fitzpatrick was awful in that game. Also that Baltimore win they played in like a hurricane in foxboro

I was referring primarily to the offense, but ok.

I’m guessing Jeff sold off on all of it because he allowed him to make those moves. Again Jeffrey lurie the most power with the Philadelphia Eagles. If he didn’t want something to be done he easily could be a veto it and say don’t do it or you’re going to get fired. he’s the only person in the organization with that much power. As he owns the team. I don’t think Howie Roseman Could Just draft Jalen hurts and be like I’m going to draft hurts without lurie signing off on it or knowing about it previously.

or lurie could’ve just done what he did with Chip and said it’s all you and if it implodes I’m going to fire him and he’s giving him time to see it through fully.

I mean their defense is the reason why they won those games though. They shut out the chargers. They held the ravens to 17. They held the Cardinals to 17. They held the dolphins to 11. They held the Raiders to 20 but the 20 was more of a mirage because of the garbage touchdown so really 13. That’s why they won

Goff doesn’t possess the ability to think on his own. If McVay wasn’t his literal brain—he would probably be out of the league already.

SB 53 was the evidence

We all hated Archie when he wouldn’t let Eli go to the Chargers. Was he right?
