Chip Kelly went 10-6  for 2 seasons. Then went 6-9. Your point?

Maybe the problems go beyond Carson.

He is on my list of least favorite position coaches ever right behind Jim Washburn.

I can't believe this organization thinks THIS highly of Press Taylor. What are we doing here?

Nice.

This will have the added benefit of confusing Taysom Hill.

That sentence at the end.....

See you next year JP!

No one close to him respects him enough to tell him it's over? How can he look at his game tape and think he can play another year??

Lurie should fire him today just for that

It reminds me too much of "It's been challenging to integrate Tate"

He told the Eagles about the play from Oklahoma which became the Philly Special.  Clearly copying a play from another team makes him an offensive mastermind/wunderkind

Its Jason Peters world and we're all just living in it.

I'm telling you. For 2 million (a bargain for a pro football team) and health and dental for life I'll tell him he aint coming back

Read a book called "A few seconds of Panic” (highly recommend) it’s about Jason Elam old Denver kicker. Anyway there’s a section in the book where the owner Pat Bowlen calls Mike Shanahan into his office, the guy who won 2 Super Bowls for him ... and who he was super close with and in 5 minutes Shanahan was walking out the door w/o a job within 5 minutes and they pretty much thanked each other and agreed they’d never talk again.

Lurie needs to dump everyone and let new GM and Coach pick their staff and who’s worth saving IMO.

Not having TJ Edwards against a team that likes to run like New Orleans does is a big deal. Our LB core will be Singleton-Riley-Bradley-Smith.

JP wants to play another year: Lets look at this very closely, what exactly does that mean?

Well considering he plays less games each consecutive year, it means he is willing to come back and play 2-3 games, and get paid $ 2-6 Million for the season

He will think the Eagles are the Saints.

Maybe the "mythical" plan is more important to him, because for a lot of us it's not "mythical" thank you very much! And if you are tired of it being shoved down your throat maybe you shouldn't shove your non belief down others.

I can believe and do a great job at work I'm sure he can as well.

So his poor play this year was God’s plan?  That’s what his quote sounded like.

Does he get to decide where he plays still?

This may not be reflective of YOUR views, but, you (others in general) Cant tell me that part of the Hate Wentz draws is because he is openly Christian.

Which just amazes me.

I believe that God definitely could use Carson's poor play to humble him or for whatever reason Carson needed that in his life but that wasn't the issue. The issue was you using the word "mythical" . Maybe you believe that God is mythical and maybe you believe his plan for Carson's life is but neither he nor I or possibly even others on this board do.

So the point is you don't want me or others bringing "religion" into the blog then don't bring your unbelief into it either. Fair enough?

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together[a] for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Sometimes you can't find the right guy. Schwartz has been solid, but limited as a DC, but hey, there are 30 teams but only 10 top ten defenses, so how many DCs can build a top 10 defense without top 10 talent (i.e. add value)? So you have to cycle through a few, the one good thing is Lurie ain't cheap, if they find the guy, he'll pay to keep him.

Same on offense, how many great HC/OCs are there? Which is why you want your HC to be your lead OC, because a good OC won't stay very long (he'll get a HC job) so the HC has to establish that continuity on offense. Pederson is not AR, that's pretty obvious. I think the key in the HC is recognizing and nurturing young coaching talent because you're gonna have turnover if you're successful (and if you're not successful, you'll be turned over).

I don't think it's about finding the " right" guy.

Steelers had cowhert then tomlin and didn't miss a beat. They've had numerous D coordinators and offensive coordinators over that period of time and throughout it all they've stayed consistent in who they want to be and who they are.

They look for certain qualities in players that fit a consistent system the most consistent being the 34 defense. All of thT comes straight from the top and trickles down to the rest of the organization. They don't bring in DCs to run what that DC wants to they bring in DCs that can run what the organization wants to.

Seems Howie and co have tried to be a wide 9 team having washburn then Schwartz after kelly went to 34.

If eagles wanted to stick with identity of a wife 9 team then they shouldn't have hired a coach that wanted to run 34.

On offense I think Lurie has consistently tried to be West coast offense based, Rhodes, Reid,Pederson, again kelly was the out lier.

If that's the case then stick to it, consistently bring in coaches and players that fit those systems instead of just Mish mash of players that were drafted because of where they landed on a value chart to be coached by 15 coaches with 15 different offensive ideas.😵

Which would be odd, because Foles is as well, and he’s loved.

I would bring in an offensive HC, probably someone else off the AR tree, and a 4-3 DC who one gaps but also knows how to mix it up and call blitzes.

That has been the base personality of the Eagles since 2000, and they've been pretty successful for 20 years, 13 playoff appearances, 1 SB, 1 SB loss, 4 NFC championship losses.

He will be the first to go. Usually, they start low with firings. He's the QB coach over Carson and Carson has regressed to being far worse than his rookie year. It's a foregone conclusion that Taylor will be out.
