not a fan, but my Mennonite Grandfather LOVED fried scrapple

The only people I've ever met who weren't fans didn't have it cooked properly.  But it is what it is.  I love it to bits.  But only buy Habbersett, because every other brand is a horrible facsimile.

Just saying this team can and may need to draft consecutive high quality players in the same position group and as a fan that should be OK.

This stinking team needs players everywhere, so if the team drafts high quality players, the position is irrelevant right now.

The trouble hasnt been in the positions they drafted (with maybe one exception) but rather the players selected.

Same reason you can't find decent scrapple outside of this area.

I DO miss scrapple

Years ago we raised a few pigs and got my great uncles recipe.  We knew we were in trouble when the first ingredient was 1 whole hog.

We had to cut it down a bit.

It is delicious.   First thing I learned to cook in elementary school, not that it takes a lot of learning.

It doesn't... proper scrapple just requires patience.

Of course.  We are arguing the same point from different rooms.

I found cooking in an iron skillet with real butter is my sweet spot

Time to start a new debate in here.

There are foods have the best of both worlds...healthy and taste great.

There are lots of unhealthy foods that taste great, lots of healthy foods that are bland.

Scrapple has the unique trait of being both unhealthy and tasting like drywall.

Interesting...  I've actually always done any type of griddle (most often cast iron, but even used an electric frying pan style griddle to great success... just slice it thin, then fry it low and slow to create the crust on the outside) but found it didn't require any added fat... I just render out the fat already in there ... though butter is never a bad choice.  Just let it sit until the pan releases it, flip it over and repeat.  It should be able to be picked up as a single piece and hold it between two fingers without breaking.

You are incorrect.  Go to the back of the class.

Hmm... I've always enjoyed the sweet lebanon bologna.

Side note: my son (14) asked the other day why certain foods take so long to cook, but others don't?  And we had a bit of a discussion on food science and flavor building, etc.   At the end he said... I just don't like to wait for my food... if I can cook it in 2 minutes, I prefer that to waiting hours, even if it doesn't taste as good.  He has so far to go to learn the ways of the BBQ pitmaster.   But, I shall teach him the ways of properly cooking all manner of meats.  He will learn the ways of the pitmaster and find that some of the tastiest things require the most patience, and done right, the cheapest cuts of meat can often be the most suculent and flavorful, when done properly.

This explains a lot about your posts.

Comes with age. I used to be starving all the time growing up, but now a meal that cooks all day is well worth the wait, IMO.

Yup.  I think it's just part of the maturation process.  I talked about how waiting all day allows the anticipation to build up and that makes the eating experience actually last longer than the meal itself.

I have never had the pleasure of eating moose, but I can imagine that it has a very similar taste to deer and/or elk.

To me the flavor is better. But the best wild red meat i have tasted is caribou. Hands down

Ever had caribou?

In 2001 i took a summer off my regular job and worked as a ranch hand near Walden Colorado. Every Thursday night we had Elk steaks.

Best job i ever had. Even lost 15 pounds.

No but i have a friend who lives in Alaska who told me it's great.

I didn’t mean that God was mythical.  I was myopically reacting to what seemed like an excuse to me.

My wife has a cousin who is a ne’erdowell.  Every time his family has a negative thing happen, he claims it is God’s plan rather than owning up for his own failures and striving to do better.  Fired for all sorts of justified reasons, it is God’s plan.   That’s blaming God and not taking responsibility. I would say mythical.   I have to wonder if Carson isn’t taking responsibility for his failure to address his issues.  He sure hasn’t fixed them.  My grandfather, a devout Lutheran, would say that God isn’t going to remove that rusty nut (after Dad or one of his brothers asked for divine intervention) so we are going to have to figure out how to do it. My meaning was more along the way my Grandpa meant.

No offense meant to you or others.

God helps those who help themselves.

Carson needs to help him self, a lot!
