Maybe with Dak playing they make the playoffs. I dont see NFCCG.  Doug and McCarthy both dont run the ball enough.

Idk man Doug was pretty much an Alshon catch away from nfccg two years ago with Agholor, Alshon, ‘can not integrate Tate’ and Jordan freakin matthews..... his rbs were Josh adams and Smallwood

About 10 years ago I had an Elk Burger after a round of golf.  This was just before a 90-minute drive back to my home.  I made it about 15 minutes before it became an urgent stop at a roadside fast food restaurant, where their bathroom got destroyed:

Come on now, Jalen needs a veteran WR like Alshon to develop. After all, Alshon knows where to lineup and helps with our spacing.

who else is gonna  teach Jalen how to blame your own issues on the qb if not him?

If hurts looks good these next couple games then they may look to trade Wentz anyways so that would be Doug and hurts for 2021. If hurts doesn’t look good I think that may push Doug closer out of the door because lurie should question why he can’t get anything out of Wentz or Hurts

I think Doug + Cowboys offense is nfccg minimum. his players seem to play hard for him, they probably love the guy, they just lack the talent

DAL has different problems than the Eagles, but they’re heavily flawed as well due to roster construction and culture.  Coaching is down the list when it comes to what holds them back.  Dak had 1,690 yards passing in their first 4 games, and it was miraculous they weren’t 0-4

I like how Lurie doesn't meddle but I just can't believe that he doesn't see the mess that Howie has made over the years

Funny thing is... I'm starting to wonder how true that is.  I think he might meddle more than we know.    What caused Doug's quick 180 on firing Groh and Walch less than 24 hours after they were both coming back?  What is the reason behind Peters not only being back on the team, but being able to dictate where, when and for how much money he will play?   I think a GM says, you will play where I tell you to play... but I think Jeff is friends with Peters, and he gets what he wants because of it.   Jeff didn't meddle in the BDawk negotiation, which led to him leaving, and I think that has haunted Lurie, so now I think he's a little more involved.

Possible.  Alshon catch would have been a 1st.  No guarantee they'd score and win.

Agholor and  Alshon werent JAGs at that point.

I think some do: clean out Howie, Doug, Coordinators, Wentz, trade Cox, and others and get as many picks as possible.  Me, Howie, Doug and then let the chips fall where they may.  Gonna have to do some crazy stuff to get cap compliant.

Isn’t that just historically bad defense tho? Like isn’t theirs like top 3 worst defense all time or something like that...After hiring one of the worst DCs they could find? They’ve shown glances at times where they can look good. Their defense looked good against the Vikings and Pittsburgh and had us on the ropes with DiNucci. That tells me all they need to do is replace the DC, draft a couple high pieces on defense, sign Dak long term and they could be really good. Less problems and question marks than we have imo

How has the pandemic impacted collegiate sports?   Imagine this... the Army-Navy game is being played in West Point, NY.

For context on that... There have been 6 matchups all-time that have been played at either academy's home stadium... the first 4 (1890, 1891, 1892, 1893), when it restarted for real to continue every year, it has happened just twice... 1942 and 1943 while the US was embroiled in WWII.

To be clear... the notion I put forward of moving the likes of Cox, et al is not to 'tank' but to clear as much future cap space as possible for 2022, not to try to get a higher draft pick (Hinkie plan) but to get cap space to allow for free agents to supplement a quick turnaround.

Hinkie lost a zillion games and expected everyone to be patient for half a decade. Eagle fans can’t be patient for half a quarter. Get rid of front office, Coach that’s 1 thing.
Lose at a historic rate and collect draft picks. Hell No.

Howie. All roads have lead to Howie. I can't say enough how badly he needs to go

Aggys been in the league for 6 years and hasn’t gone over 775 yards receiving once...dude had some good moments but ultimately a Jag for the Eagles. Even Mathews came close to 1000 yards once and I don’t think Matthews has a job right now

By all accounts, Howie is attached to Jeff's hip... so, when you say Howie, is it really just Howie, or Howie doing Jeff's bidding?    I don't know.   I'll really be surprised if Jeff fires him.  He needs to go, absolutely... but I'll believe it when I see it.   Which makes me sad, because I really have no interest in watching the next permutation of Howie or hearing about how Howie had certain players rated higher, but he selected other players instead due to pressures from the likes of Joe Douglas, etc.  I am tired of the scapegoating that goes on to protect Howie.  But, I put that squarely on Jeff... he's the one that constantly protects Howie.

How much can you pay Dak if the team is 8-8 or worse, though?  You can go 8-8 with a QB on a rookie contract and build a team around him.

The Eagles issues stem from paying huge salary to a collection of guys over 30 years old who are now oft-injured.  Bad drafting has compounded it and they’ve left the franchise QB they’re about to start paying huge money with few weapons around him.  Add in a terrible offensive scheme with the head coach trying to be OC as well, and it’s disaster

DAL has guys like Lawrence, Jaylon Smith and Zeke on big contracts and every one of them has underperformed almost immediately after getting paid.  No wonder Jerry is apprehensive about giving Dak $38-40M per year.  Amari Cooper at $20M per is also a big overpayment.  LVE is playing like he’s terrified of getting injured again

I think the NFL turnaround can be faster since FA is so fluid and the career arch of players is so short.   Hinkie is a euphemism for tearing it down which i think a lot of fans want.

I expect Trevor Lawrence to try to pull an Eli Manning with the Jets. I think the Cowboys will go QB in Round 1. I don't think they will get a deal done with Dak and I'm not sure they want to. He is coming off a serious injury and I don't know that their FO believes in him to the point of giving him a megadeal.  I think Dallas might get Lawrence from the Jets in a trade.  Dallas might draft one of the other QBs and swap that QB with a draft pick for Lawrence.

I agree but 2017 and 2018 I wouldn't call Agholor JAG.  He actually played very good.  The other years, yeah he was nothing.

It’s a possibility, but if Lawrence is thinking ahead he can’t be warm and fuzzy about a second contract negotiation with a team that hasn’t been willing to sign their existing guy for the past 2+ years

Lawrence is a first rounder though. Dak has been up and down in his career. He is better than average, but his ceiling isn't elite. I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas is a little spooked about what is happening with Wentz after injuries and that also impacts their decision.  Lawrence would be a splash move and Dallas probably wants a marquee QB name like Staubach and Aikman. Dak doesn't have that level of buzz.

They always say about the draft.....its not about how high you're drafted but rather about where you're drafted.  The same goes for FA.  Part of the reason we won a SB was hitting on several FA's...Blount, Brandon Brooks, Patrick Robinson, Chris Long, Ajayi later in a trade.

The Eagles can turn things around quickly.  Obviously changes have to be made when it comes to Howie, Doug and Wentz.  1 or 2 of them have to move on.

I believe it was a couple of years ago, but someone in the local Philly media basically said, you'd be surprised at how near to the Jerry Jones level of meddling that Jeff Lurie has been doing across the Eagles staff and roster after Chip Kelly, but he is far more subtle about it than Jerry Jones is.

And on a different note, this

Has everyone seen Baldys breakdown of Hurts? He makes it pretty apparent that receiver is the weakest position. Calls them out for being poor route runners.

Also, Doug has Greg freaking Ward chipping the defensive end in one of the clips. LOL
