It was his first career start and against what might be the best defense in the league. Nobody thinks he was great but anyone with half a brain would look at his performance and command of the offense and come away impressed.

I agree, but I have a whole brain.

Wentz didn't run the offense in 2017?  Wentz didn't run the offense last season?  Ridiculous. As for the articles, I always think there is some truth but never the full truth.

You fail when you bring up 2017. He hasn't been the same QB since then it's now almost three full seasons since. Wentz was average until the last few games of the season in 2019 when they played horrible teams down the stretch. If facts are ridiculous to you, then so be it because here is yet another one that doesn't serve you well.

Doug Pederson is now 11-2 without Carson Wentz as his starting QB...

I have always considered the Cowboys to be offensive.

Spartans, Trojans, Texans, Irish?

Bison were nearly exterminated in the 19th century. That's basically genocide...no more city of Buffalo or other Bison-related sports team names.

As a Cherokee Indian, I don't find their name to be offensive at all

But you're not a white woman, are you???

this new analytics guy for the NFL is great LOL

Hurts played well, the whole team played well, but this is a gimmicky offense that is in no way sustainable long term.

This organization is going in 100 different directions, thats really the problem, and its actually getting worse

It was impressive.  But that is not unique nor earth shattering.  I'd say Carson's first start after missing much of TC with a broken wrist was much more impressive.

This post best sums up the last 100 pages of discourse.

The coach is 11-3 when he is not hamstrung with Wentz, he's not going anywhere. Howie can go though.

OR...Doug is 11-3 for a few games here and there when he realizes he needs to adjust his game plan because he doesn’t have his starting QB to lean all his weight on.

The NFL is built for team's to lean their weight on the starting QB.  If you can't do that, you need a new starting QB.

With some of the roughing the passer calls around the NFL today (and the one with Hurts in our game), I am again calling into question the value of investing in edge rushers moving forward.

Yeah, I realize Sweat basically won the game today, but you have to take a look at the conventional blueprint for success if you can't hit QB's anymore.

So you give him 5 secs to pick apart your defense, no star LB or CB cam cover that long. An Elite DE is probably the 2nd or 3rd most important position after QB, he can erase weaknesses in the back seven.

Hurts did a real good job managing the game today.  I didn't see the line but decent first start for a running QB.

The Cleveland Indians are changing their name.

Should the state of Indiana and city of Indianapolis be renamed as well?

How long until Major League is pulled from streaming services.

Also, funny how the "OK" symbol that most dudes make doing the made you look game was deemed racist last year but now the most popular endzone celebration is guys dancing around with the OK symbol to their face.  90% of pictures you see of Justin Jefferson he's doing it, Miles Sanders did it today.  15 year old white kid does it....racist.  Oh the joys of America in 2020.

Good win and I'm really glad they won but coz of it dropped 5 spots in the tankathon rankings. Could have been 4. Now picking at 9

I’m very concerned about that. It’s demoralizing.

All fans really ask for is hope and right now what is there to look forward to?

Can’t look forward to free agency because our cap situation is Fed.

Can’t look forward to the draft unless Howie is fired.

Hell, can’t even fully invest our emotions in Hurts because I think we all know damn well because of his contract they’re gonna make Wentz have to lose the job next year for Hurts to be the guy and Wentz will likely be starting on opening day.

Wish we had one thing we could grasp on to. A young stud defense, an elite GM you know will turn things around. A QB that looks like the next top 3 QB. Cap room. Something.

This is a scary, yet realistic post and valid points. As a fan, you want to be optimistic and see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel or at least have the hope that things can get better. 2015 was a rough year, but there was optimism because of a new coach with Doug and them moving up to take Wentz at 2. It was the same thing after 2012 in Reid's last year. Chip got people excited at the time because he was new.

They're in a real dark spot right now and the win today doesn't change that. It could actually potentially harm them more in the long-run. They'll probably win another game or two to ruin their top 10 draft slot and my BIGGEST fear that I keep bringing up is them giving us the lip service and excuse that this was an unprecedented year with COVID, the team wasn't able to properly prepare in the offseason because of it, it stunted the growth of the rookies, it led to more injuries, etc and keeping the exact same system in place while giving those excuses when anyone who has watched this team the past two seasons knows that there is a systemic problem with this organization.

Well, yeah, that’s why they get the coin they do. But a QB and his OC have to share the load, especially if the QB struggles.
I don’t think we’ve seen much of that with Doug until Wentz goes out.

Any early word on Slay, Maddox, McLeod injuries/significance?

I’m a little new to this one but why is it racist? I thought that meant "ok”?

I honestly don't know why it is but google "OK symbol" and every result is about how it now means white supremacy....I remember the media coming down hard on some Cubs fan for making the symbol on his thigh (like 99% of us have done at some point in our lives) and he was just smeared all over for it calling him racist.  It's just silly anymore.

It can apparently be misconstrued as a "white power" hand gesture.

I want the Bills OC as our HC next year.

Yet sports leagues and the NCAA are encouraging the black power symbol on many helmet stickers and patches...I didn't want to start a whole other conversation that belongs in CVON but the double standards are ludicrous.

It's like a cult in here against Wentz. Kind of creepy the hate in here. What did he do to you? Though I guess I won't see the replies unless someone quotes them because the ignore feature is broken 🤷‍♂️

He led my Eagles to a 3-8-1 lol

I wish we had a #1 receiver. Watching other teams makes me envious
