The designed runs with Wentz drove me crazy, he's not a running QB and shouldn't be used like one, he uses his athleticism to buy time in the pocket and scramble for yards when open field is presented to him. Teams ignore him in the RPO b/c they know he lacks burst - but this is on Peddy, you play call for the guy in the game.

Hurts is a running QB, which is why he can contribute immediately as a backup QB while he learns how to play in the NFL. He's used to big game pressure (which is why no one should be surprised by his poise), he's a dangerous runner and a decent passer. That gives you a chance if you can play defense. But he's years away from being a NFL starter, missing the summer mini-camps and exhibition game time has set back his development.

Hurts is years away?  Then how far away is Carson?  Centuries?

Great attitude, especially for a rookie...

Must be nice to have basic competence back at the QB position again.  No wonder he’s so happy.

Hargrave is good. People thought he was bad 😅

He had a very good game yesterday.  So did Cox and the rest of the D-Line, they are to be commended.

Rolling him out didn’t help matters. It basically played into the eagles hands. with how depleted the eagles secondary was what’s the Saints excuse for not running the play to your best WR and one of the best in the league if you were indeed going to throw it. That play definitely wasn’t designed for Thomas. It just happens Mills is in no man’s land and he’s open middle of the field.

I think Carson is done.  Gun shy.  Injuries.  Lack of confidence.  I was one of the first ones in here saying he should have been benched for at least a drive in the Dallas game on 11/1.  It might have done him some wonders.  Nothing but downhill from there.  Amazing how far and fast he has fallen.  Drafting a QB in the 2nd round after what Wentz did with practice players during the last 4 games of the season last year and then getting speared in the helmet, was a dck move by the Eagles.  You don't do that after you just signed him to that big deal.  Either he's the guy or he isn't.  Regardless of the reasoning, it is a bona-fide mess now and you can blame Lurie and Roseman for it.  Doug is too dumb to realize what is going on.  He just wants to draw up more 4th down plays.

Drafting Hurts is quickly turning into a stroke of genius by Howie.  The mistake was giving that big contract to Wentz.

Yeah, you will be saying how much of a genius he is when he is back next year.

His team doesn’t look so awful with competent QB play.  Imagine that.

Hilarious.  Reagor set a career high with 55 yards.  Jefferson has 1,000 receiving yards, has 5 100 yard games, and has 8 games with more yards than Reagor's career high yesterday.

We're gonna give up 30+ next week.  Book it.

It’s very realistic with the injuries out there. I’m guessing Hopkins has a field day as he did against the giants who had Bradbury on him most of the day.

more interested to see if the eagles can keep containment on Murray. I thought since jones destroyed them they have done a good job in that aspect. Hill they contained but I also don’t think they had to really respect him as a passer until later in the game when everyone got hurt. Murray while still not great as a passer is a jump up. I’m guessing we use a spy in this game.

Yup all we have to do is run the ball 30+ times and 250 yards a game and we will be good.  Who knew success on the ground was the key to success?  Who knew?

Gotta remember it’s coming from ESP. I also thought the rule was no posting of ESP

Yes that was a silly playcall. Draw something up for kamara, zone read or something. They put the ball in hills hands like he was Brees.

Is the goal of the game to win the game? Or to pile up WR yards?

I'm not angry with Schwartz.  I just want all new coaches.  Nothing directed at Schwartz.  He did what he normally does with a bad QB opponent.  He shut them down.   Schwartz against bad QBs is a mismatch and our defense ought to win.  Had he been the DC when the Eagles faced Joe Webb, I have no doubt the Eagles win that game.   But, that's not to say that he deserves to stay as the DC when all the other coaches get swept out.   New HC gets to pick his DC.   Schwartz' contract is also up at the end of the year.  Who's to say he even wants to come back anyway?

Schwartz's defense only did just enough and the team was lucky to win.  I mean the Saints missed a FG and Hill missed throws.

I don't think anyone thinks Hurts came in and played poorly.  I think people are fooling themselves if they think playing Hurts over Wentz fixes this team.  2 things can be true in that Wentz has played poorly and the offensive scheme/play calling/coaching and talent are sub par.  Changing over to Hurts and thinking that fixes this team ignores this bigger issue.  My hope is that whoever the QB is the coaching and talent is better around him.  I would be happy if Hurts comes in and plays better than Wentz.  I would be happy if Wentz came back and played better than he has played in the past.  I will be unhappy if the continues to ignore the bigger issues which are the GM and offensive coaching staff.

The jury is still out on Hurts. Yes he played good yesterday and the offense actually looked like a functioning unit.  But it's just one game.  He needs to put together multiple good games and we go from there.

Too many QBs have played well for a few games then the league catches up to them.  Let's give this kid a chance before anyone crowns him.

Yeah i made this same point in the GBU. They still aren’t good enough. As much as i like the projects of Hightower and Watkins, they are projects and projecting them as starters isn’t smart. Really what wide receivers are locks to be starters on this team? Reagor imo is the only one i think capable of being a high level starter in this league and i think he still has issues with route running and needs an offseason to work at it. Other than that? I don’t think Greg Ward is a starting WR. Jeffery and desean are gone next year. JJAW is a huge bust. Fulgham has reverted back to a pumpkin and cant get on the field. So you have 1 WR we can say has a chance to be a productive starter. That’s not good enough to get you going where you want to go.

Because the genius coach is trotting out Alshon Jeffrey, who will not be here next year.
