McNabb didnt have a dozen designed runs in any start he ever made with Andy Reid, or even close to it.  Look it up.

Jalen Hurts looked like Joe Montana as a passer in his first start compared to Donovan McNabb's 1st start.  McNabb statline:

8 for 21 for 60 yards passing.  0 TD 0 INT.  49 rushing yards.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/how-tua-tagovailoa-channeled-donovan-mcnabb-his-first-career-nfl-start

Hurts was pretty damn good for his 1st ever NFL start against a top defense.

There is a difference between all-time great and catching lightning in a bottle.

Exactly.  Mark Rypien had an anomaly of a season.

If I deduct the yards given up this week from the Rams and Saints total, going into last week, Rams were giving up 283.1 yards per game, Saints 288.8 yards per game.

Rams #1 going into the week.

Check the headline

Given how yesterday played out, I would be surprised if we go full-rebuild in 2021.

Well, going any other direction is going to be nearly impossible with the salary cap as it is.   But, I will say this:  If they retain Howie, then you are absolutely right.

Dillard had one game there.  The Eagles traded up for him in the first round.  Agholor stunk, stank, and stinks and the Eagles kept giving him chances for 5 years ......

I dont think he played RT in college as well. He was not drafted to play RT. Maybe he just becomes a backup or you try and trade him.

It's been a fun conversation.  Obviously, we shall see.  I think Wentz did great the past two seasons with the joke of an offense around him.  I hope Hurts is great.  Heck, I once wrote a song about the greatness of Bobby Hoying after the Cincinnati game.

Oh god the memories.  Jon Gruden is truly a genius for making that guy look so good.  I think he said he had to adjust his offense for Hoying because he "wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer" lol.

For the Schwartz never adjusts crowd...

Great question.  Maybe a new coach can convince him that he can be rebuilt here as the franchise moving forward.

Just putting myself in Wentz's shoes, I'd want to get out of a contract that would allow a team to cut me loose after just 1 year. I'd be looking for a team to make a long term commitment to me in the form of extending the same or more guaranteed money into later years.

Sorry Andre, it's over.

That is one strong individual.

Exactly.  2017 Carson Wentz also had an anomaly of a season.

It has nothing to do with character - it is a business decision.

If Roseman and Doug are back, which I think is likely now, and if Hurts in named the starter then I think Wentz will not be disposed kindly towards the Eagles. He might be best severed by resting and conditioning his body for a year, dispelling doubts about lingering effects from the concussion. He could make it public that he has been working with a QB guru to fix his mechanics. His bargaining position would likely increase.

Definitely agree with that.    My entire thesis is based on the premise that the way forward is without Howie and Doug.  If either are back, forget everything I've posed.  Complete hogwash.

That was a case of what I hope happens, not what I think happens.   And yesterday's win might have saved Howie and Doug... though, Lurie looked as miserable as I felt during the game yesterday and the Eagles were winning, so maybe not.

Please dont Frerotte yourself Quez

Has Lane Johnson every played a full season? If so, it's been a while. We need 3 tackles.

Howie and his scouting staff identified Mailata as a prospect.
Stoutland worked him out and pounded the table for him.

They can both get credit.

That's all fine and dandy, but what incentive do I have as a team trading for him to give him a new deal?  He's under contract so he needs to play.  He'd look like a world-class turd holding out for a new deal after this abomination of a season.

Yeah this.  There's plenty to kill Howie over.  But it's only fair to give him credit for the Mailata pick.

None whatsoever. I'm just talking out the reasoning from Wentz's POV. That's something he and his agent would fight for and something the Eagles would prefer from a team that is trading for him.

"He would make some crazy throws on us, man,” Mills said. "Some crazy throws. It'd have (Jim) Schwartz cussing us out, guys on the defense mad, pissed off. But that's what you want. You want that competition on the other side of the ball.

Hurts may make the defense better as well.

Except it's Wentz running the scout team now as the #2.

I'm not sure how it would benefit the Eagles to restructure Wentz' contract prior to a trade.  No matter what we're on the hook for the prorated signing bonus.  The salaries and roster bonuses would go to the new team so we wouldn't be responsible for them.

He had a higher completion percentage, and became the first Eagles QB to throw for 400 yards in 2019.  So no, it wasn't.  He also improved his completion percentage in 2018.

It is obvious you hate the guy, you got your wish, why don't you move on.
