Remember the Cincinnati game the year before and the shootout vs Boomer Esiason. I admit I got on the Hoying bandwagon.

Me too, and The Kevin Kolb Bandwagon, and the Vick Bandwagon.

He had a higher completion percentage in 2018 and 2019 than he had in 2017.  He had more yards in 2019 than 2017.  He had a higher QB rating in 2018 than in 2017.  Higher yards per attempt in 2018 than 2017.  Is than enough metrics for you ??

Of course not.  I said you were cherry picking and that's what you're doing again.  It's not fooling anyone.

Context.  McNabb didn't start his first game of his career against the top ranked defense in the league either.  And RPO wasn't part of Reid's system back then either.

He didn’t play against the ‘85 Bears.
But, he did a nice job.

But what we saw yesterday was bad coaching, bad play calling, bad scheme and bad results that had lucky results because of athletics.

Apparently you truly don't understand the game of football.

How am I cherry picking when I provided multiple metrics showing improvement from 2017.

Why do you have him so much ?? Without him, we do not have homefield advantage and do not win a Super Bowl.

Super Bowls are won by teams, and he more than did his part.

I'm a huge McNabb fan and always have been.  He's still among the best (if not the best) QB's in team history, imo.

Smart.

And I said any start as in... pick your favorite Andy Reid game... Andy didn't want McNabb running, it was a last resort, and was never part of the gameplan.  No 'context' necessary.  You brought up McNabb though, not me.  McNabb had maybe a dozen designed runs in the game plan per SEASON, not per week.  How many designed runs did Reid call with Mahomes as a rookie?   I'd be willing to bet way under a dozen in any game.

Catches way to much s___ on here. I get he didn’t win a Super Bowl but not many have for this franchise. He gave us a chance for close to a decade.

Spoken like a true Carson cult member.  Just because I criticize him for his terrible play and say he's not a "franchise QB" doesn't mean I hate the guy.  I'm sure he's a nice guy in real life, but I couldn't care less about that.  My ONLY interest in Carson Wentz is whether he's the right QB for my football team, and its abundantly clear that he's not.

I understand its very difficult for you to acknowledge that someone may have a different view than you do, but that's what happens when you live in a echo chamber.

He was instrumental in being in position to win several Super Bowls, and was the #1 reason we did not close the deal in any of them.

The fact that you can not acknowledge what he has done, saying he has gotten worse since 2017 when it is easily provable that is false, tells me you have an agenda.

Whatever becomes of Hurts, he certainly COULD become the next R Wilson. Nothing he's done so far indicates he can't.  But if you've been a Ginger Jesuit, just stfu. You know F all about QBs.

LOL you can't be serious.  Everyone with functioning eyes can tell he's gotten worse since 2017.  Truly cult-like devotion.

RE Wentz:  When looking at the stats 2020 is more on anomaly than 2017 to be honest.

This is where you lose credibility and are seen as someone who lacks objectivity and will only discuss or mention things that fit your narrative.  You think the ONLY reason we beat NO was because of a QB change?  Then you fail to understand the TEAM game of football.

NO had their backup QB who is a gadget running QB yet Payton failed to use him as such when other teams have proven that mobile/running QBs can beat our D.  So for some inexplicable reason they played an O scheme that was more easily defended by our D instead of one that has given our D problems in previous games.  But I guess that doesn't count for anything because it doesn't fit your narrative.

On the other side of the ball, NO failed to game plan for Hurts running ability and he beat them more with his legs than his arm.  He did only have 5.6 YPA, which is well below average.  But when they adjusted their D they held the Eagles to 7 points in the 2nd half (and that was thanks to a TO and short field) and contained his runs for the most part.

Our entire DL played lights out and the D created 2 TOs, which guess what?  In the other games the D created more than 1 TO.....we WON the game.  But I guess that doesn't count for anything because it doesn't fit your narrative.

You really think they didn't adjust the O a bit just because Hurts said so (which you've only quoted that 3X already that I've seen today).  BTW, Brian Westbrook disagrees with him.  Again, last 4 games with Wentz they had 75% to 25% pass to run ratio.  This game they had 56% to 44% and more rushing yards than passing yards.  So when you have a struggling QB how is a 75% pass rate not bad coaching?  How about we wait until Hurts has to throw 75% of the time before declaring him the saviour of the Eagles?  Or let's see what happens when the opposing D either takes away or limits Hurts ability to run the ball and forces him to throw and to make throws down field?  You're seriously stoking yourself over just one game where there were multiple factors and performances that went into the victory?  I think most of us will hold out judgement for a larger sample size with more factors to base an opinion on.

Straw Man Argument.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with some of what you're saying here.  One point I agree with is that we do need a larger sample size.

And I've been giving credit to the defense all day, including several tweets I've posted commending the defensive performance...it was one of their best games of the year.

Of course they adjusted the offense to fit Hurts strengths.  That's exactly what good coaching does.  Where you and I disagree is whether or not they have been trying to taylor the offense around Wentz.  And from every report I've read, THEY HAVE.  And there's plenty of evidence to support it.

But to come on here and to say that Pederson called a bad game, to continue to vilify him the day after he beat the top defense in the NFL and one of the top teams in the NFL is a joke, imo.

And of course this is a TEAM sport.  It's THE MAIN reason I am one of the few that has been defending Pederson AND the rest of the team...THIS ENTIRE YEAR.

Smh.

‘97 Eagle Bengal game.

Week 13: Eagles win 44-42

Bobby Hoying 26-42 for 313 yards 4 tds 1 int

Boomer Esiason 27-47 for 378 yards 4 tds 1 int

Remember thinking this kid can throw it, we got something here. Man, that didn’t last long.

Hoying is the perfect comparison, but not for Hurts.

Right.  Reid wanted to teach McNabb how to become a pocket passer first and then to run primarily to avoid pressure/extend plays, etc.   By McNabb's 2nd season, he was already getting there.  Second season, not his rookie year.  These things take time.  And there's little doubt that Pederson will eventually start coaching Hurts in the same fashion.
