If you want to make the comparison, go ahead. 1 of them is a fumble every 32 snaps.  The other is a fumble every 80 snaps.  Neither is particularly good, but one is worse than the other.

but, this entire Hurts vs. Wentz thing is stupid.  This isn't about Hurts and Wentz.  This is about bad coaching, bad personnel and bad cap management.  Wentz has been bad this season.  The point has been conceded.  Hurts isn't going to fix all the problems on this team, just as Wentz wasn't the cause of all the problems.  But, it was nice to see Doug stop using Greg Ward for flanker screens... finally.  2 flanker screens against the Saints - 1 to Reagor and 1 to Sanders.  Both gained more than 5 yards each.  It was nice to see some manufactured touches for Reagor.  Clearly he struggles at actually getting open, but he's a threat with the ball in his hands, so its nice to see the coaches finally do something specifically designed to get him the ball and in space.  It only took 13 weeks.

But, if you want to make this all Wentz vs. Hurts... go ahead.  I won't be engaging.

The biggest problem w/the short passing game for the first 12 weeks, including throws to backs out of the backfield and screen passes, was the inaccuracy of the throws.

That kept the receivers from being able to catch the ball in stride and keep running, or even catch it at all.

So an explosion in the first half and much more limited numbers after the half doesn't signify to you that a team may have started adjusting and figuring out some things? Ok.

Who cares what they "figured out" if they gave up 400+ yards and 24 points?  Why did they figure out Tom Brady to the level that they held him to 3 points, but "figured out" Jalen Hurts by allowing 24 points and a win?

By your logic, "figuring out" means nothing.  It's just another Wentzcuse to downplay Hurts in order to pump up your bench boy.

Hey Wentz Washers and Hurts Jerkers Matt Miller on NFL draft scout has Eagles picking Jaylen Waddle at pick 9. Would give us about 10 decent players if he’s added next year.

Ok, carry on with this riveting conversation.

You do realize that on a flanker screen the WR is stationary or running towards the QB, right?   And that the flanker screens to Greg Ward are the reason that the flanker screens failed, right?   I'm not talking about backs out of the backfield, 'screen' passes, etc.  I am specifically talking about flanker screens run to Greg Ward which we saw repeatedly and they went for roughly 2 yards each, because Greg Ward has about as much wiggle as a sun-dried tomato.  They ran that with Reagor and Sanders yesterday and each one went for about 7 or 8 yards, because both Reagor and Sanders made at least one guy miss.

Who does he have us winning against to get the 9th pick?

That's where the Eagles sit right now... #9.

I’m fine with Waddle just hope he is still explosive after injury.

Oh. I keep forgetting they do those for where teams are right now instead of what they'd be at the end lol

His stuff on Twitter is pretty good. A lot of good stuff on draft prospects IMO

They were able to make guys miss because the passes were right on the money allowing them to quickly turn up field.  Not the case with far too many passes in previous weeks.  I'm not going to argue w/you that Ward doesn't have wiggle, but that's not the whole story.

Yeah they sure "figured out" the Eagles to the tune of giving up over 400 yards and 24 points.  In the several weeks before they were giving up 9 PPG and held Tom Brady at home to 3 points and 194 total yards of offense.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/matchup?gameId=401220330

The Eagles scored 7 pts in the 2nd half. They won by 3 vs a backup QB.

I kind of always felt this way

first I hate the Eagles continuously talking about how they almost drafted Russell Wilson so they couldn’t let that opportunity pass by again. You didn’t almost draft them you had three picks you didn’t do it and he’s on the Seahawks. Move On get over it already. You didn’t draft him and you weren’t smart enough to draft him with a two second round picks.

Second I never had a problem with Hirts the player. Frankly I think Jalen hurts the player could be a good starter in this league given time. Now do I think he’s Russell Wilson like the Eagles claimed in a press conference? No because I think there’s only one Russell Wilson. And that’s a disservice the Eagles are doing a Jalen Hurts before he even took the field in an NFL game. You can say we like his game we think it’s similar to that of Russell Wilson. But saying oh we think we found the next Russell Wilson does not help your young rookie quarterback or over inflated the expectations people have.

third i think he did some good things in that game especially in the first half of that game. The second half I was a little more concerned when the Saints made adjustments and the offense was not nearly as good as it was in the first half. I’m curious to see what adjustments he makes for next week. Cause in the NFL you have to make adjustments. If you don’t adjust to the adjustments you never get better and likely are not going to progressed and you’re just gonna regress or stay stagnant. The good to great players always adjust. I’m interested to see how he adjusts. I’m also curious to see what adjustments the Cardinals make next week. I think he should have a good game. The Cardinals defense isn’t great.

Fourth I think there’s only 3 elite quarterback in the NFL right now (Wilson, mahomes, rodgers— i think josh allen if he puts together another season like this one would be close or there. I think Brady/brees are still really good but not elite anymore. I think Lamar has regressed and Murray has definitely regressed from earlier in the season). So it is really challenging for you to find that elite QB. Every other quarterback who is not elite is either good or very good or bad or average. If you have one of the other groups besides the elite QB then your team is going to need to be great or good in almost every other position to be one of those teams with an elite quarterback. If it was easy to find that elite quarterback 32 teams would have one. The fact that there’s only three right now out of  32 that has one tells you the odds are not in your favor with wentz or Hurts being a elite franchise quarterback so you better build the team around him well.

fifth I am of the personal belief that Carson Wentz can be salvaged however I don’t think it’s gonna be in Philadelphia. I think he’s going to go somewhere else and resurrect his career. I also think he’s likely to go to a team that is more built to be a contender then the Eagles are right now. My guess the colts. That said if he goes there and has success then that’ll be a discussion at that time

Sixth I look at the 2017 roster and then I look at the last three years that roster is nowhere close to that roster. I said this back in April this roster is an 8-8/9-7 roster even with a solid quarterback. Their plan for wide receiver was not smart and risky for 2020 if they believed they were a contender. They weren’t that great yesterday. It took a OPI for our biggest gain of the day by a WR. Also I should be excited that Alshon Jeffery caught one pass? Even though he had second Most snaps for a wide receiver he had one target. If people want I will go through each individual teams comparing position by position where the Eagles would fit. It’s not pretty. They have some of the worst positional groups in the league. Linebacker, wide receiver are bottom five units. And we can blame this on quarterback for the lack of WR production or you can blame it on whatever you want but when you look at the talent the Philadelphia Eagles have compared to talent around the league at that position they are bottom five.
I think the only WR that starts on the outside and has sustainable starting success on the outside in the future for the Philadelphia Eagles is reagor. Everyone else in 3 years is likely not in the league or their back ups. people think that this wide receiver corps would just be winning a Super Bowl with a good quarterback, I laugh at that. There’s a reason why Patrick Mahomes has Watkins, hill, robinson, hardman along with kelce at tight end. Andy Reid is not an idiot. he put good wide receivers around his investment. Our wide receivers are not close to that group. I firmly believe reagor would be the only one that makes that team

seven, I went back and watch the game twice after was over. What conclusion did i come away with besides hurts played well and the defense played their hearts out? The same thing I’ve been ****ing about for two years. The Philadelphia eagles in December unlike the previous three months decide you know what? we should play to our personnel strengths. you know like running an end around for reagor or multiple crossing routes for reagor. Not running screens for Ward and using sanders on swing oases. you know like using pre-snap motion or motion more which I’ve been complaining about since week 2. Or using guys in motion to get them going on a route so you can get them at their top speed so when you run the play it has more chance to be successful. And by my count there was at double digit roll outs. So again this is now the third consecutive year whether was Nick Foles, Carson Wentz or Jalen hurts this year the Philadelphia Eagles in December finally figure out how to use and maximize their personnel. It should not take us three months to figure this all out. You can blame it on Carson, you can blame it on Doug or you can blame it on howie but the fact of the matter is the Philadelphia Eagles for three consecutive years don’t know what the hell they’re doing with their personnel til December. Magically in December they figure crap out. And it’s pretty obvious when you watch the all 22 the previous two year and which I’m guessing when I watch it on Wednesday will show that. It is like clockwork with the Eagles. First three months they look like crap for a large portion of it and December hits they look better with nick, Carson and now hurts.

Nope.  Seriously, stop letting your bias get in the way and watch the actual plays.   Greg Ward flanker pass has been a wasted down every time they called it, and not due to poor accuracy.   Sheesh.  Try to have a little objectivity.

The previous QB was misfiring on all sorts of "layup" short passes all year, including flanker screens, causing incompletions and killing chances for YAC.  What's lacking in objectivity is that carson stans refuse to admit this and instead pin it all on the receivers and coaches.

In fact, its a joke that carson stans have made such a big deal nitpicking a #4 WR like Greg Ward who gets paid the minimum as if he's somehow one of the major problems on this team.

Oh really?  How quick did a pass first run never GOAT QB like Tom Brady get "figured out" by the Saints defense?

It begs the question, what is the pre-draft process going to look like this year?

— Can they do the combine this year in Indy?  I will guess they will

— Will they be allowed to do pro days, official visits?

You can't blame them.  Generally people with low iq or lack of openmindedness experience severe cognitive dissonance when confronted with opposing arguments that challenge their worldview.  Staying isolated in their echo chamber is a defense mechanism.

Brady is just about old enough to be able to join the AARP. GOAT Brady is done.

Wentzcuse #29 - Tom Brady sucks!

How did the refs miss 15 players on the field? Yikes.

You're not ignored yet

There's plenty of people on here to talk to that don't feel they need to bash Wentz in every post

Also there's loads of people I don't like that aren't on my ignore list lol you've clearly never been in CVON

I don't mind people being critical of Wentz because he's definitely deserved it this season but pretending that it's just Wentz is just silly. So those go on ignore for me

Also calling people Wentz washers and other crap doesn't add to the discussion and is just childish
