There have always been Wentz haters. You haven't been gone that long. They have moved on from Foles to the new object of their affection

You have your normal group of posters and then you have this separate group who never stop talking about Wentz and act like everyone is defending him when no one really is

Yet no one has mentioned Hurts today except the Wentz crowd. That’s funny how people backing Hurts get the rep for never stop talking but here we are with Wentz crew bringing it up.

His original point is that the return game doesn't matter as much.  Then he changed and said punt return td's don't happen as much.  Which are two different arguments.  Of course kickofff returns are obsolete at this point.  Punt Return's are very important.  We as Philly fans should know that, especially this year.  Are there less TD.  By the looks of the numbers, yes.

Ah I didn't see his first argument. Just the TDs one, which is interesting to see the decline. The return game of course matters.

Pretty sure I never said that....

Kinda glad we cut him now, tbh

Comparing Andy's offense to Doug's is like comparing a newborn child who will become a supermodel to an ugly deformed monster that was poked in the womb by a metal coat hanger.

Although I think your comparison is hilarious, obviously Doug's offense was everything it needed to be (and more) in 2017.  It was a well oiled machine for both Carson Wentz and Nick Foles that year...and won the Super Bowl.

He does seem a bit....unhinged?

triggered much?

Well, what is NOT good for the team is a QB controversy.  Which is why i hate the pick.  They gonna have to pick one, eventually.

The dumbest thing of it all is they created the controversy themselves. It's just retarded management. Howie and Doug have to go because of it.

Me nah. Just talking facts bro but if ya wanna turn this into another Wentz VS Hurts thing today I’m game. Believe me ask the rest of the Wentz crew

So who is the backup tackle at either spot at this point? Toth? Seumalo?

I'm assuming he will be next to go on IR after the Cardinals game.

N.O. was the best defense in the NFC.  And depending on what other metrics you used, likely best or at least among the best in the NFL  They hadn't given up a 100 yard rusher in 3+ years.  We had TWO in the same game.  How the naysayers in this blog simply discount that fact is beyond reason, imo.

There's nothing being discounted.  The point is, the Eagles need to evaluate where Hurts' ceiling is during these 4 games to make a determination going forward whether he can be a really good #2 QB in the NFL, or a really good #1 in the NFL -- there is a big difference.

He went 17/30 for 167 yards and 1 TD with one fumble against the Saints, and helped the Eagles get a win over a 10-2 New Orleans team -- that's great.

If these next 3 games show that Hurts puts up the same numbers -- 57% completion, less than 200 yards passing and 1 TD per game, rushes for 70-80 yards per game -- is that his ceiling?  Nobody will know after 4 games, but it will be evaluated in this sample size.  If he isn't any more prolific against a bad Dallas defense, then can the Eagles evaluate that his ceiling may be limited?  If Hurts goes out and puts up a 28/37 and 310 yards with 3 TD against Arizona then that evaluation changes pretty quickly.

The Eagles know what Wentz's ceiling is -- 81 TD and 21 INT over a 3-year period, and leading the team to an 11-2 record in 2017 before getting injured against the Rams.  He still has all of the same physical tools he had then, and he hasn't become stupid since then -- he has stagnated in this offense.

That would probably be a benefit to the eagles. He might be the worst player on this team. And that’s saying a lot. He definitely is the worst olineman we have. Like peters was bad and he is awful

I tend to agree with most of this.

Fire Dave Fipp

Geez, Fipp needs to use those bug eyes better.  Ward is quite possibly the worst decision maker when returning punts.  I can't think of another returner letting more punts bounce inside the 10 yard line than Ward.  And I've been on the Ward bandwagon for a while.  What the heck is with these coaches.

Guys who say "facts" all the time, probably drink White Claws and Tik Tok.

What’s wrong with white claws and tik tok?

I think lost in all this is that Greg ward every week leads all WRs In snaps.

Greg ward at best is a 4th receiver, he's slow doesn't make guys miss or make any plays down field unless I broken coverage.

Yet Doug and Co in their offensive wisdom make him the eagles number 1 WR by snap count and give him the most targets week to week of the WRs.

That's not a winning formula.

Pairing him with slow as mud jeffrey isn't a winning formula.

On Sunday doug trotted out a formation with jeffrey, Ertz, goedert ,and ward on the field together. That's a slow offense that scares nobody and it's been the same much of the year.

Why doug refuses to get his speed on the field at multiple spots is beyond me.

59 minutes ago, RLC said:

Agreed. Only way I'd even entertain keeping Doug is if we hire an OC who is 100% in charge of the offense. I'm fine with Doug as a CEO type since players love him, but we need a new approach.

Honestly, I'm not even sure about that, because I think his practices might be too soft which is why they normally start off the year so poorly under him.  AND... it might be a reason they suffer so many injuries.

But, they have never quit on him.  Even when things look their worst.  So, he does have them buying in.  Just not sure that what they are buying in to is a great idea.

I guess we'll see Prince at least get signed to the roster

Let's take it one game at a time and see what happens.  If they decide to go the Hurts route, I think it could be a hybrid between what the Chiefs are doing and what the Ravens are doing.  But even that is putting the cart in front of the horse at this point.

  Sure.  One game at a time. Good talk.

Because his speed is 3 rookies who struggled this season. Reagor Hightower and Watkins haven’t been productive of yet. Although I agree and Reagor is seeming to come along now.

Maybe we should start listening to them

We can listen to them while also keeping these unhinged psycho's away from the roster. Doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.

It's kind of crazy that we haven't seen a Reagor/Watkins/Hightower formation, with Goedert and Ertz and Sanders in the backfield. Makes the defense think, and creates a number of unique route combo's, I don't care how raw the rookies are. It's infuriating that we're relegated to Ward/Jeffrey, etc.

Not entirely. He looks significantly less mobile than he was prior to the knee injury, which was to be expected.

This is reasonable. I agree. At this point though I doubt Hurts ability. But if we move on from Wentz of course we should root for whoever is our qb

It is reasonable. It just feels like it had to be said with all of the Wentz sucks/Hurts sucks talk. They’re both on the roster. I hope they’re both successful, and I hope we choose the better of the two.
