He easily beat Janoris Jenkins across the field on the deep crosser, and the Saints safety fell over like a tumbleweed in the wind trying to get an angle on him -- Hurts missed the throw unfortunately..  He's faster than 4.40 for sure

You talking about the Zach Ertz pick play?

Season is unofficially 3 weeks long at this point. Seumalo missed 8 weeks with a sprain too, so even if they made it to the SB as scheduled he may not be ready.

Hurts will lead us to the playoffs....🤪

That was just a "pro day" timing by one of his guys at TCU -- he's about a 4.36 or so ....

Even if he's 4.36 then we were sold a lie. His key trait was speed. That's all Howie spoke of

No, that was the short crosser; he ran at 3/4 speed after that catch.  He had room down the sideline but there were tacklers that had the angle on him

Respect.

Yeah I'm not sure what's up with reagor, even on his long catch and run for 30 yards looked like he just started running half speed like he was tired or just didn't want to run, it was weird.

There are times on tape he looks like a 4.3 guy like on his PR then there are other times when he looks like a 4.5 guy. If he could get to the point where he's a 4.3 guy every time he could be good.

Maybe his head is swimming, maybe he's unmotivated that his qb sucked for 12 games I dobnt know, hopefully he doesn't go the way of every other WR drafted under doug.

The only WR doug and Co have developed is Greg Ward, that's sad as Greg Ward is a 4th We at best

I think he's just kind of a smooth runner and he trusts his ability to change speeds.  On that RAC he knew he wasn't going to be caught from behind but was trying to see if he could set up the traffic he was running into.

I mean look at him at the bottom of the screen on this route:

He easily blows by Jenkins who gave him a big cushion.  It would have been nice to see Hurts take a deep shot.

I blame only one person for everything you just described: Lurie. Doug is coaching for his future, whether that's here or somewhere else. Doug is absolutely in a win now mentality, and his desperation is hindering the future of this team. If I was in Doug's position I would do the same thing. If I was on the chopping block, why would I choose developing players over playing vets that probably give me a better chance of winning a game?

Once it became clear that this was Doug's mentality, Lurie had two options. One, tell Doug that his future with the team is secure and he won't be fired in the off-season. Give Doug the security he needs to play the younger guys, take a long-term approach to roster management, and let these young bucks work through their growing pains. Lurie's second option was to fire Doug immediately and order the interim head coach to embrace the youth movement. Lurie did neither, and as a result we see players on the field that have absolutely no future with this team.

Yup. Totally agree. If Peters didn't get hurt he'd still be playing.

I think the game plan on Sunday didn't have anything to do with developing hurts or the young guys I think it was im going to run him into the ground and get a win to make myself look smart

Even after the game doug contiued to down play Hurts performance.

Winning any more games at this point and playing vets and running Hurts 20 times a game isn't helpful, all it does is delay the development and future of the younger players.

I was hoping the eagles looked good on Sunday and hurts played well and hoped they would lose.

They managed to win somehow and that doesn't change the fact that this team is broken and is going no where this year.

Hopefully lurie doesn't look at this win and decide Doug has any clue what he's doing and keeps him for next year.

Most of us hope so, but where is this confidence that Howie will be fired coming from?  Joe Banner gave it a 10% chance.  Not sure who would know better.

3-12-1 would make it more likely than 6-9-1.

In wondering why Doug Pederson was so hesitant to compliment Hurts after Sunday's win, The Athletic's Mike Sando asked a few coaches around the league what they thought of Hurts' performance against the Saints.

This response from an offensive coach isn't ideal:

"From what I saw, it will be very easy to stop that kid," an offensive coach said of Hurts. "The Saints just weren't ready for some of the stuff they did and he had some good runs. He had a couple wild throws, too. The next defense they play will have a plan for it and it’ll be much harder for him."

It is reasonable. It just feels like it had to be said with all of the Wentz sucks/Hurts sucks talk. They’re both on the roster. I hope they’re both successful, and I hope we choose the better of the two.

I've been on this board a long time. For whatever reason some people just hate the starting q.b. no matter who it is. Saw it with McNabb, Kolb, Vick, Nick (the first time) Wentz, and if Hurts becomes the permanent starter you'll see it with him.

This season is lost, playing guys like jeffrey and ward to get wins is stupid,

Let's say eagles make the playoffs, somehow does any one believe they actually do anything other than get bounced round one.

Jeffrey is gone next year, why not give hightower more snaps and game exposure?

I totally agree he's not ready but getting him ready is more important than getting jeffrey snaps for nothing.

Tossing screens to ward all year doesn't have to do with rookies not being ready. If a rookie can execute a WR bubble screen he doesn't belong in the league.

Doug and co have mis used their personnel all year. There is zero reason jeffrey should be getting any snaps, all it is doing is taking away from the development of the younger guys.

Ward is what he is he's hit his ceiling, he's a 4th at best that the coaches drafted 3 rookie WRs had Fulgham fall Into their laps and they haven't figured out to use any of them after 13 weeks or gotten them ready is a joke and is just another reason to fire them all.

It just struck me, maybe playing Alshon and Ward is not about getting wins, but the opposite?

Budda Baker is going to make his introduction to Jalen Hurts Sunday.

I’m actually guessing they use Simmons to spy hurts. I’d have to go back and check for certain but I’m pretty sure he was the guy who accounted for Wilson when they played seattle the second time.

Because there’s been multiple other reports specifically Mosher and Adam caplan ( i also believe wulf who was working with the eagles has indicated it wasn’t mutual like what was reported) have discussed this multiple times that they basically fired him(forced his hand which ever way you want to call it, it’s basically semantics eagles wanted to move on and he saw the writing on the wall within the organization and lurie).  the assumption was that it was mutual but really behind the scenes they have said he basically pushing him out the door. And he left because he took away his job/power he had  and we’re trying to get him to leave instead of having to fire him. But all technicalities it was basically firing of him from his position and power to force him out.  It’s kind of why they are not best of friends anymore. If it was mutual you would think they would still be close as it was a mutual parting. They aren’t

also do you really believe Joe banner when they took away his power and basically forcing him out was just gonna go to the media and say well he’s a crappy person and he basically stripped me of all my power and forced my hand. No because then he would look awful doing so. He took the highroad.

also there was a power struggle at the end and howie got more and more power. Howie didn’t get it by himself and it came at the expense of banner.

This is my recollection of it as well.  I do wonder if they have managed to mend some of the rift but I think there's no question that Howie wanted Banner to go.

Yep.  Remember the Foles v Vick off season.  That was way more heated than any debate, and multiple folks got banned during that.

None of the new band measure up to iluvdaeagles.  I miss that troll.

IDK it sounds like an Orlando Scandrick situation from last year.

Agreed but Scandrick was and always will be a Cowboy.  Parks WANTED to be an Eagle.  He's a Philly guy through and through.  For him to be doggin on them like this I just think there has to be a deeper story.

Matt Pryor/Nate Herbig together is going to be a disaster. They can't pull off that side. Neither guy can move. Pryor's sets will make it easy to stunt on obvious passing downs (can't stunt on neutral downs as much given Jalen's running ability).

The bigger problem? There's no one left to backup. It's Juriga at C, Opeta at G and Toth at OT. That's all bad.

Actually did not think about that.  They can disguise the spy, and spy him from LB or Safety.  They could really create some complicated looks that way.

Yup there have been a few times this year where reagor has beat his man deep and doesn't get a look.

I mean in this play he doesn't even look like he's going full speed and he just blows by janoris who is a pretty fast corner. Not sure why hurts wouldn't take a shot there could have been a big play.

I've been disappointed with the ways doug and co have used reagor all year. Week 13 was his first end around, he was money in college on those types of plays

For some reason Doug's has called on Ward to come in motion and take hand offs and 2 WR screens a game instead of giving those touches to reagor.

Instead he lines reagor up at X receiver and tosses him back shoulder fades.

Reagor is one of the eagles shorter receivers throwing him back shoulder fades again at teams best corners isn't an ideal use of reagors skill set, it wasn't something he did in college or was good at, yet Doug continues to dial up those plays.

Reagors best trait is not his straight line speed it's his burst and too many times pederson has failed to get him in position to use that burst and I stead tried to make him something he's not.

To me he's regressed as a route runner from college, there are some routes he ran in college at an elite level, i think Solak broke down his route running and his quickness in and out of his cuts and dropping his hips and exploding out of that, but we've yet to see that this year as Doug says hey reagor I want you to libe up at X and run a back shoulder fade or line up at Z and just run in a straight line.

It's a misuse of his skill set and Doug and Co have been doing that all year with all the WRs.

I WISH I could find the clip but back in his playing days they interviewed Leftwich after he came back from an injury.  His response was "I ain't get no dumber".  From that day on I just can't take the guy seriously.  He must be doing something right though to be an NFL OC.

What? Hurts doesn't miss throws, he singlehandedly beat the best defense ever in the WORLD!!!!!!!

Meh, he became friends with Bruce Arians in Pittsburgh and has just followed him around ever since.
