And people want this guy over Wentz.   A whole lot of people are gonna look real stupid if he becomes a Colt and it becomes obvious to all ( which it already is to some ) that Frank Reich was the man, not Doug.

Seems that Doug and Fipp are contented with below mediocrity results from Ward.  They have to be finished here, because there's no real drive to improve, to get better, to find ways to get the better athletes involved... just a rewind with Alshon Jeffery and Greg Ward.   It's ridiculous.  And that stupid win on Sunday just encourages more of the same stupid roster management... pushing the younger players that might actually have some upside down the depth chart, keeping them buried behind players that, frankly, have no real place on this roster for 2021.

Fipp is more concerned about a potential negative plays than having confidence that a better returner could benefit the team.  Maybe it's not his decision on Reagor but Watkins returned punts in college. Hightower returned kicks in college.  Start utilizing these players to see if they can help the team.

A run dominant qb in his first year of being productive...Murray will fall apart eventually, just a question of when.

Fundamentally, a QB has to be able to accurately pass downfield to be successful.  55% passing and 100 yards rushing won't translate to long-term success.  Murray, however, has completed 67% of his throws and is able to make downfield throws.  Murray was the most accurate last season in terms of deep throws.  https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2020/2019-20-deep-ball-project They need to do more to protect him and use his mobility to avoid hits and prolong plays.  Using him as a running option on a regular basis will ruin him.

This is a big consistent problem with this team in that they have no clue to the concept of 'playing the hot hand'.  We've seen this with the RBs when one gets into a groove and is picking up good yardage and then gets pulled and is out for a series or two.  Same concept here.  You had the hottest WR in the NFL for a 4 week stretch and you basically bench him for an older player just coming off injury.  The stupidity of this organization is dangerous and shocking sometimes.

As nuts at the Alshon and Peters situation is, I think Doug deserves one more year just without Howie

ONLY if they hire an OC who calls the plays.

This is absolutely and 100% A$$ backwards.  What the heck has Dillard done to earn the starting LT job?  It's unfair to Mailata to pull him just because a guy was a 1st round draft pick.  They are going to bungle this up I know it.  I hate the Eagles so much.

I think Doug has proven to be the man in his own right. He can be an idiot at times, yes, but the players fight for this guy, time and time again

100% agree with this. Should have been Caldwell last year

In all seriousness you get another year of Alshon Jeffrey and DeSean Jackson at wideout. Another year of Schwartz and Nate Gerry.

Im thankful for what Doug brought to Philly but it’s over. Howie has to go with them ... no more special assistants, no more tweaks here or there, it’s over ... it just is.

As a Coach he should say that about Mailata/Dillard situation to reporters. Doesn’t have to mean it however.

Im more concerned about the Alshon is playing well response. If that is playing well we need serious upgrades.

I don’t see a realistic scenario where Doug and Howie are let go, that’s too much turnover. Plus a huge decision on Wentz/Hurts needs to be made this off season and you need one or the other for that decision.

Plus How many times have you seen a owner fire the gm and hc in the same year? I can’t recall any instances. And if there aren’t any, Laurie damn sure won’t be the first one to do it

All he said was he wasn't going to name Mailata, today, the starter at LT for 2021. It isn't that big of a deal.

Yep.  Everyone is gonna get giddy about the future if Hurts wins two of the next three games, but it will be fools gold.

The same crew will be back next year, Gerry will be in the line up, Alshon will be in the line up, Desean will be kept, and then get hurt.

The fact that this team will not commit to the best players, has not since the super bowl, is a HUGE red flag.

I agree with going with the "hot hand" philosophy but has Fulgham been that hot?

Zero concept at all, it’s disgusting. I mean we saw Hightower running go routes to start the season to open up space for guys underneath. Then he catches 2 bombs in back to back games and then you don’t see the kid for 6 weeks. Seriously WHAT THE F.

It’s like you get punished for playing well

Of course.  What do they expect him to say on a situation that won't be relevant for at least 9 months?

Those two plays may have been nice, but I can assure you Hightower has not been playing well.

He was.  His 467 receiving yards still lead the team.

The second Alshon Jeffrey was forced back into the line up, Fulgham fell off a cliff.

Doug just needs to pull a Chip Kelly when he's asked irrelevant questions.  Like, "Mailata is my starter for the next 1000 years,"

Yes sir.  Caught the 59 yard bomb in the 10/22 game against the Giants, has had 6 targets in the 6 games since then, 3 games not even targeted.

Forcing Alshon into the line up killed Fulgham and Jeffrey's mojo.

Doug sounded like a coach under serious pressure to turn the team around.  Yet he can't address the issues directly and honestly.  The  remaining games will determine his future with the team.

I'll start off by saying I'm a Fulgham fan, I like what he has shown so far this season.

That said, his last target was a pass from Hurts that hit him in the numbers, while his hands were going all over the place.  It was a bad drop that would have been a 1st down.

Jeffery's last target was a 15 yard catch for a TD.

Jeffery is "the hotter hand" at the moment.

How can you say that if he’s not getting opportunities anymore? He hasn’t gotten over 30% of the offensive snaps in any game since he caught those 2 bombs.

They literally reduced his snaps after he started producing

Man, the way you analyze football is just baffling. Fulgham is young and cost controlled. Was playing well when he was being targeted 10x or more a game. Yes, he has issues with drops, it's the reason he was even available as a street FA anyway. As soon as Jeffrey was inserted, it killed all Fulgham's momentum AND development. Look at those game logs. It's ridiculous to assert that Jeffrey should be starting over Fulgham. Jeffrey's "hot hand" was good for 1 catch for a 15  yard TD. I'll be amazed if Jeffrey even hits 100 yards receiving on the year.

I don’t put much into press conferences, Coaches rarely say anything significant. The sad thing is Doug may be completely honest. Think about that.

Hightower had some really bad drops, but he was open downfield for bombs. I wish they would have just let him play and learn, as the season is clearly lost now. Why not put him and Watkins in there and let's see what we have in them? At least then you can begin to know what they need to work on in the offseason. Naw, let's trot out AJ and Greg Ward instead, guys who won't even be in the league in 2 years. It's maddening.
