I can already see the future. Jackson will be sitting on the market, draft comes and goes, Howie signs him to a 1 year $5M deal, Waddle opens up the season behind him on the depth chart.

You're right on track except for Waddle.

Howie signs DJack before draft.  Draft comes, Eagles think they have WR covered and in another deep draft they pass on the top WR thinking they can wait until round 4-5 because some WRs will drop.

Right on time Djax will play a game and the FO will look at Alshon and Djax and  think great we have our starting WR's for 2021

We have seen this movie before about a hundred times in the past 4 seasons. I already know how this ends.

For me there is a long list of guys I wouldn’t bring back next season:

Offense — Desean, Jeffery, Ertz, Ward, Clement, JJAW, Pryor, Peters,

Defense — Mills, Gerry, Maddox,

It’ll take 2-3 really good drafts to build this roster back up where it needs to be

Was really hoping Mills was going to end up being a good safety. He's taken to the city and team really well

I don't want either on the team in 2021

Neither should have been on the team in 2019 let alone 2020

Dude, reading comprehension.  I said if he came back, THE EAGLES FO WOULD BE FOOLED BY HIS PRODUCTION AND RUN IT BACK NEXT YEAR.

That statement is my opinion, and based on history, pretty darn close to a fact.

I read that but assumed that you meant that you didn't want him back next season.  You would have been better off meaning that then using it as a reason not to have him back this year.

Who wouldn't want a player who is rehabbing his tail off so he can suit up again for the team that drafted him, was among the best receivers in team history and will likely make the offense better...to come back? ESPECIALLY if it will be among his last games as an Eagle?

Just because you may not like DJax and you want the team to lose, doesn't mean the team feels that way....and either do most fans.

Lol it's funny. The fans that wanted Jackson back are living in the past yet are also the ones telling anyone that wants to keep Wentz that they're living in the past

What sucks is we joke about it and discuss it on here but the grim reality is that the Eagles probably have considered that and none of us will be shocked if/when it happens.

Maybe another poster saying it a different way will help.  The two posts above also apply.

I only want DeSean as the PR and the occasional deep threat. Reducing Reagor's snaps for DeSean would be next level stupid.

You have seen Alshon's snaps increase at the expense of Fulgham the last 4 weeks, correct ??

Or Mailata benched for Peters, correct ??

They will force him into the lineup, thats what they do.

I understand what both of you are saying and I think it's weak.  Horrible way to react to a player who broke his leg and just went through 7+ weeks of rehab so he could possibly come back and help the team before the end of the season.

The same player who has played in how many games since he came back ??

Eagles 28

Cards 23

Too bad, they're here until 2022

He missed games due to injury.  And the fact that he's giving it his all to come back before the end of the season shows that he's determined not to go out like that and wants to help the team.

He could have easily written the season off if he had wanted to....but instead worked hard on his rehab so he could come back and help the team.  Shows plenty of heart and determination and should be commended, not scoffed at.  Smh.

Should have never been brought back.

DeSean - played in 6 of the last 30 games.

Alshon - played in 14 of the last 30 games.

So we have allocated 33.2 million in cap dollars the last two years for two players who have played 20 of the last 60 games combined.

Money well spent.

DeSean Jackson is an Eagles legend.  Would be nice to see him out there again before moving on this offseason.

Hell, if the price is right (vet min), I'd be ok with bringing him back next year as cheap depth.

What does that have to do with DeSean Jackson rehabbing so he can come back and help the team before the end of the season?

Straw man argument.

And there it is.  So you are gonna cut him, take a 5.8 million dead cap hit, then re sign him and pay him another 1 million ??

Because the Eagles will see some production and bring him back.  Is this so hard to understand ??

I agree.  His problem may be that he doesn't meddle (or lead) enough.  It's probably hard to change after winning a SB that way.

Owners need to own and let the football people lead the team. If they feel that their underlings aren't doing the job then they need to replace them. But otherwise stay in the booth

The dead cap when we cut DeSean is a sunk cost.  It has no bearing on whether he is worth coming back for a vet min contract (which he is).

Would you pay a guy to shovel your driveway in winter, but, when the snow actually falls, he just doesn't show up cause he's injured? Does that sound like a good allocation of resources to you?

Oh, we get it...you've said it a few times already.  It's a weak and nonsensical argument.   It's refreshing to know that the team and likely most fans don't feel that way.
