But the cap hit is $34M regardless — and instead of fixing the #2 overall pick who is still only 27, you’re left with a bag of chips that you’ll eat in 20 minutes.

If you keep him next year then you’re on the hook for $35M more in 2022.  If you trade him now we’re totally free of his albatross contract in 2022 and onwards. There’s more to consider than just 2021.  Don’t be myopic like Howie.

Now Google "Saints run defense" and see what comes up.

No crap. The point still remains it wasn’t that great throughout that game.

I love everyone on here that doesn’t actually watch the all 22. There were plays to be had for sanders and scott and the run blocking was poor on those plays. Goedert on one gave a poor block and that’s why it failed for a negative yardage. If goedert gets the block down it’s a nice gain. Just cause the Saints are a good run defense does not mean the Eagles blocked well at times.

now google "game pass” and consider buying it and watching the all 22 it would have multiple run plays where it was the Saints run defense and multiple where they didn’t block well.

They want to make the playoffs (debate as to whether they should isn't relevant here). DeSean is a better option at PR than Ward.

Sunk cost.   Same argument as you made with Desean.

The sunk cost is the $35M cap hit next year.  Anything after that we can get out of by getting rid of him now.

Sunk cost fallacy is keeping Wentz and staying on the hook for 2022 and beyond guarantees because you’re already on the hook for 2021.

Reagor is far better than Jackson.  It’s not 2015 anymore

DeSean fields the ball better. That's one of the main reasons Reagor isn't doing it now.

Actually I not only watch the Eagles all 22, but most of their opponents, as well as breakdowns by other people.

More than that, I have the intelligence to realize the the quality of an opponent might have some impact on performance, a level of self-awareness you apparently have not obtained.

Goedert missed ONE block so the run blocking was poor? Really? That's your analysis? You wasted your money paying for gamepass if that's your analysis.

The O line doesn't play "under a QB".  Also, Hurts has the benefit of not seeing #71's butt.

I also want to see how the punter plays under Wentz as well. It's funny how much stuff the haters want to pin on Wentz.

No i can bringing up multiple ones if you want me to later when i get the chance. If you watched the all 22 theyre on there. So you should’ve picked up on it. Was a miss by even the great Jason kelce/seumalo. There was another by Driscoll. There’s multiple times where they just failed on their own accord to get good blocks. I used that one cause it was one of the bigger plays in the game that people would remember as most on here don’t watch it

yes i don’t know the Saints defense has a great run defense. I only pointed out the entire week prior to it. Great job on that one. GoOgLe It comment was clearly needed on your part

But obviously I don’t think that comes into factor 🙄. Additionally the eagles had struggled at times running the ball with their backs after the first two series of the game in Green Bay. also on the all 22. That’s not exactly a great run defense either. But yes clearly have the intelligence on here to make a comment like google it even though i pointed out the entire week prior to this game. the Saints being a good run defense does not mean the Eagles did not miss opportunities in the run blocking. Again you might not have the capacity to understand it could be two things not just one. You know like Saints run defense was good vs. backs outside of the 80+ yard run and the eagles also missed multiple opportunities to have nice gains with less than stellar blocking.

I blame Wentz for my weight gain this year.  I was planning on spending the season jumping for joy and doing high fives — instead, because of Wentz, I’ve been forced to just sit on my arse while I pound down pizza and beer.

Know what lm gonna try that with my health and wellness coach. Speaking of health the covid test came back negative. Back to work tomorrow. Although I still feel under the weather. Lol

Other than having 12 holes in the bucket, I think it holds water pretty well.

No, one of the biggest problems of this offense since the beginning of the year, literally game one... is that the OL has NOT been good or even adequate this year.  And it was exacerbated by the fact that the coaches (specifically the play caller) that didn't recognize that a new OL combination would be more effective RUNNING the ball than PASSING it the majority of the time.  And finally, the GM decided that they didn't need any RB depth beyond Boston Scott and Corey Clement, for when Sanders (inevitably) would miss time due to injury.  And when your QB is not trusting the OL to protect him, maybe running the ball more would also benefit the whole offense.

Dominoes.  The first domino to fall was the OL.

There's positives as well, imo.  The offensive line didn't give up any sacks the last game, despite the amount of injuries, etc.  We likely found our future starting tackle in Mailata (7th round pick).  And both Herbig (UDFA) and Driscoll( (4th round pick)  look like they are players and will likely be here for years to come.  The value of those picks/acquisitions is through the roof, especially if they end up becoming 3 out of 5 starters on the offensive line in the coming years.

Glad to hear the Covid is negative.   But, there's a lot of other illnesses that can make you feel bad.    Take care of yourself.

Thanks bro

Speaking as a "Wentz washer," is there anyone here that actually believes Doug P sabotaged the play calling with Wentz on purpose?    Or is that a conspiracy theory made up from the Wentz haters?

I'm sure you can blame Wentz for that as well

Also glad it was negative

I don’t think he sabotaged the play calling on purpose. I think he was clueless how to help his struggling QB/OL/WRs.

The playcalling against the Saints though was no doubt completely different than what we’ve seen with Wentz all season though.

I actually thought Driscoll was great in pass pro in this game. They really didn’t have breakdowns between him and herbig when there were blitzes like we saw when pryor and peters were on the right side. Run blocking given the fact was Saints defense and dealing with the injury he had as better than what you could’ve probably asked him for. He was infinitely better than pryor who’s been out there healthy.

The reps he got this year should benefit him going forward. Ditto for herbig. I think herbig is a nice backup guard to have who can in a pinch be a starter for a week or two. great value in that for the eagles. I think you’d still ideally want an upgrade.

Nah... You put words in my mouth.    The OL is a unit... and as a unit, they haven't been good.   Just rewatch the games, if you have the stomach for it.   Now, within that unit that is underperforming, there are some bright spots.  But, on the whole, which is really how the OL is assessed, they were not good enough.

Mailata - very encouraging.
Herbig - likely a swing OG backup for the future.
Driscoll - maybe starter potential inside.

But, the struggles of the OL, I believe directly impacted the struggles of the QB... starting right away.  And the HC failing to see the struggles of both the QB and the OL and not running the ball more made the spiral run downwards.  Then... the GM failed to provide proper depth at RB to still be able to run even when Sanders was either too tired, or injured.  So... it all plays together, but I believe the first domino to fall was the OL.

It’s a conspiracy theory made up by your fellow Wentz Washers.  Doug has apparently been sabotaging carsy poo by calling bad plays to make him look bad.  Now that Hurts is in, Doug is calling good plays again. 🤣

These are my exact thoughts.  I think he looks at Wentz as a pure pocket passer (despite all the facts, results, and evidence) because Doug P is not very bright.

WRONG!!!  Speaking of strawman.

You've ran out of any credibility.  There is no excuse for Wentz from me.  Anyone who knows me, knows I have been critical of him.  Dating back to last season.  But you and others have been unreasonable.

Wentzcuse #35 - criticizing a QB playing like the worst QB in the league while getting paid like the best is "unreasonable”. 🤣🤣🤣
