Let's say we draft in the 12-18 range.  Gone are Parsons, Surtain, Chase, Rousseau, Surtain, Farley. Sewell,  the 2 QB's, and Chase.

Who do you pick?

Chase is so good he’s getting drafted twice?

Rather than focusing so much on the oversaturation of the product, the thing that bothers most fans that I personally know (mostly 35 to 60) is the whole "social justice" issue and dragging it into sports.  I don't know ONE, who cares what these athletes think or support.  They are spaced throughout the country and have varied political affiliations and feelings.  They just want the players to do their job and create entertainment value and let the viewer choose to support what they want.

They don't want to hear it from the leagues or actors either....or politicians.

It was clear when Kaep started this stuff in his Castro shirt and "pig" socks, that it wasn't going to turn out well and it is probably a big part of what is happening with viewership and engagement.

It definitely is for the older generation but as a millennial, honestly, I’m pretty numb to it at this point.

Truth. And I get it to some extent... I like players too, I have those guys who I root for in college and the pros even though they are not on my team. But i an not about to waste a few hours of my life to watch a player 😆.

Team loyalty is eroding and the thing that really bamboozles me is when people question why you wear eagles gear after they lose a game or they are having a bad year. They look at you as if you are crazy. Whatever happened to riding the highs and lows with a team?

Idk if it is cause of the pandemic or the eagles just being bad but there’s been some great gems in the jersey department that i have found this season that i never thought i would be able to find. Found a Seth Joyner Russell athletic authentic, Fred Barnett authentic Russell and this McMahon #9 the other week. Which is hard to find but if i can get it to my jersey guy i could always put foles on the back of it.

Jets - QB

Jags - QB

Bengals - BPA

Dallas - possibly a QB but probably best D player

Carolina - maybe QB

Atlanta - maybe QB

Eagles at that spot would probably have their pick of best WR in the draft

Bengals are going to draft Sewell

If Thursday football ratings continue to sink why would one think the solution is adding Tuesday night football.

It's over saturation.

The anticipation of waiting for football all week created more of a demand, no day football was a bonus, if one has football every other day it loses its appeal due to it being a common occurrence.

I mean part of the problem is that there are so many stoppages and breaks to ads that the games are just not fun to watch live.  I mean last night it seemed like there was 5 advertisements run for every play.  it's just not enjoyable when many people have cut cable and stream most content with no ads.

There's 2 changes I would make would be do not break for commercials at times other than quarters and halftime.  The other change that would be more substantial would be make the play clock 30 or 35 seconds instead of 40.  I mean there are just too many breaks in the game.  Too often teams just run down the clock at the ends of quarters and the half.

The Thursday night product is garbage, because these players need time for their bodies to recuperate.  And the coaches need time for a real game plan.   Ever wonder why there's 2 weeks before the Super Bowl?  Its not just about the media storm...

The Thursday Night product could be really good, if teams had a bye leading up to it... they'd then have 11 days of rest before the game, and then have 10 days afterwards.

If the NFL wants to do anything to 'fix' their revenue stream (its not broken, its just not skyrocketing like it had been), then they'd go to 2 bye weeks.  Thursday games would be for the first week of the year (2 games, not one), then would happen between weeks 6-12, featuring as many premier matchups as possible where the teams leading up to them had a bye... maybe even make it a doubleheader.  First game starts at 6PM Eastern, and that game should be with limited commercial interruption so that it ends 'on time'.  The second at 9:15PM Eastern, featuring WC teams.   I think they'd get a boost because the product would be better, and it would be more limited in scope making it actually more attractive. That gives every team game (16 games total) and doesn't oversaturate it by being every week.  And there would be fewer games each week, giving more teams national games to get some more fan familiarity.

But, they won't do that..   They'll just add Tuesday on and make it even more over-saturation and an even more watered down product.

Says he has a legitimate source inside the Saints organization. Quite the twist with Payton saying that now compared to what he said a couple years back in 2018 after the eagles/Saints game

I'm surprised because they go to commercial for anything now. Timeout? Go to commercial. Player injury? Go to commercial. Challenge? Go to commercial. They rarely show replays now. They've actually gone to commercial and miss a play or 2

I'd bet his plan to fix him is in line with what he said in 2018.

I'm sure if the Eagles do try to trade him, they will try to trade him to an AFC team like the Colts.  The Jets would be the perfect trade spot. He wouldn't come back to haunt us there.

Too bad the Jets aren’t trading for wentz when they can just draft Lawrence who would be under a 4 year rookie deal.

They probably won't. I agree. But, don't be surprised if Lawrence tries to get out of going to the Jets.

Basically make the offense with Wentz one dimensional. Take away the run game, make him throw it as much as possible. The more he throws the more he presses. I forget exactly what it was but there was some stat where his win/loss record is really bad if he's throwing over 350 yards in a game.

Yeah i think this narrative is blown out of proportion. Say what you want the Jets have a plenty of good draft picks to add, likely a new coach and the most cap space of any team to spend and put talent around him. While the organization has been a crap show this and last year they actually will have a new coach, good draft capital and cap space to make that team much more viable going forward. Comes down to joe douglas not Fing it up

My roommate watched that game last night because he had $100 on the Chargers and Darren Waller on two of his fantasy teams.

Yep.  I am in the semis of my big money fantasy league, have Darren Waller, had the game on all night.

It's the upper level of management. If I were an agent, I wouldn't want a top player going there, especially a QB who can get ruined by a poorly run organization.  I have a feeling it will be a similar situation to Eli. I think Lawrence ends up in Dallas. The Cowboys draft another QB and they swap with the Jets and throw in a couple of picks. I don't think the Cowboys want to sign Dak and now that he is coming off a serious injury and now that Dallas is pretty much going to get a top 10 pick, it puts them in the market to get a marquee name young QB.

A loss to Notre Dame on Saturday may go a long way in his decision.  He may want to run it back with a full, non covid impacted season and win a title.

I’m willing to bet the Jets draft Lawrence and don’t trade him. Can talk about upper management, douglas just took over last year. They knew they were going to be bad this year anyway. So they basically like the dolphins were taking it on the chin knowing they were going to suck to be in a position to get Lawrence. And have a ton of draft picks and cap space to use at their disposal next year

also would be playing in the biggest market in the United States. I don’t think any agent is gonna let that opportunity pass it bye to not play in that market. People miss construe the Eli Manning situation part of it was the chargers organization and the other part of it was he wanted to play in a bigger market then San Diego

jets have nearly 100 million in cap space and these picks and a 3rd round comp for Anderson. The Jets actually if they don’t screw this up have a chance to turn it around with Lawrence

Eagles had to trade #8 overall, that years third and fourth, 2017 1st, and 2018 2nd just for the #2 pick and Wentz. Dallas would have to give up a fortune for a prospect like Lawrence, not just a couple of picks.
