We need to draft to develop for the future.  Not just the next year or two.  That is what got us in this situation.  This team is not built for guys to "step in and contribute now".  They need to start from scratch.

I’m fine going after an ol in the first round. Based off mock drafts (way early) the drop off from sewell to the next one has been consistently around 12-14 picks later where we pick 8 which is 5 picks later. So if the eagles were going to go that route it might behoove them to trade back to get more picks then take a lineman rather than reach for one at 8 (currently sit)

We need someone who can develop them more importantly

Ja'marr Chase - I would rather chase than any of the DE's. I don't think there is a safety prospect in the top 10.  Surtain and Farley are the 2 top CBs.  I think they are my top choice.  Beyond those 2, I think WR or OT are the two other best positions available and maybe Parsons.

It's sad that we still need help at WR after all of these years

Eagles had to trade #8 overall, that years third and fourth, 2017 1st, and 2018 2nd just for the #2 pick and Wentz. Dallas would have to give up a fortune for a prospect like Lawrence, not just a couple of picks.

The NFL Trade Value Chart should be required reading when posing these draft trade scenarios

If you go back all the way to the Jordan matthews pick it is really just a string of lackluster WRs and poor development at the position. Jury still out on this years class

2014:

matthews (2nd)

Huff (3rd)

2015:

agholor (1st— good for him for looking competent in Vegas)

2016:

none

2017:

mack hollins (4th)

shelton gibson (5th)

2018:

none

2019:

jjaw (2nd)

watkins (6th)

No matter who is running the FO next year, they're going young, it'll take 2 years to dump all the veteran contracts, so no serious FA acquisitions, and shedding veterans when they can.

This means stockpiling draft picks, comp picks and aggressively scouring the SFA market and raiding other team practice squads - the injury plague this season has the benefit of forcing them to audition a lot of young players, both finding out what they have and giving young players game day experience.

Wentz will return, they'd be crazy to trade him b/c they won't get enough value to justify giving up on his upside.

Hurts will show the next three games that he's a promising young QB that will be great to have on the bench, but not ready for prime time.

The OL will be better next year, Brooks will be back, Peters came back after 2012, Brooks made a 100% recovery off his first achilles. Lane is more of a question, is he finally fixing the ankle or is this going to be a chronic thing. But Dillard should be 100%, Driscoll got valuable PT, as did Herbig, Prince got a year on the PS to get stronger and further from his injuries, etc.

They now have speed at WR, they need polish, and a younger, healthier possession receiver than Jeffrey, maybe Fulgham, maybe a draft pick.

On defense, Graham - Cox - Hargrave - Barnett, Sweat, goodbye Malik and Curry. Need depth.

LB, Taylor, Bradley add speed to go with Edwards and Singleton and Riley. You can upgrade, but that's a young group that should improve.

CB is a big need, though we'll see if anyone steps up, it's not like they've been worse this year than with Darby, Jones and Douglas.

S is transitioning, Wallace will get PT, so will Epps if healthy, Mills will get a shot at showing he deserves to return as a starter, but this is certainly an area to address on the second day of the draft. A fast FS who can man cover 1 deep would be a nice addition.

Idk if it is cause of the pandemic or the eagles just being bad but there’s been some great gems in the jersey department that i have found this season that i never thought i would be able to find. Found a Seth Joyner Russell athletic authentic, Fred Barnett authentic Russell and this McMahon #9 the other week. Which is hard to find but if i can get it to my jersey guy i could always put foles on the back of it.

I’ve got multiple places like ebay, bucks county,  rare vintage and some other small shops. Have some guys who do thifting back in the philly area who hit me up if they find something I’d be interested in. I actually have a white Eric allen that’s a 44 that doesn’t fit me that i bought.

If you are looking for one in particularly send me a message. i might be able to track it down

tbh Flyers stuff during this has been crazy. Got a eagle sports brand propp jersey with the pelle 31 on the sleeve, mark Howe, Pelle linbergh jersey, primeau signed jersey, gagne stuff has been massively out there.

I heard he was moping around and pouting in the corner... like a bad teammate would.

Yes. Priority should be helping out the QB, whoever the QB is.

Yup... That's priority #1, and #2, and #3.  The defense sucking won't permanently impact a QB's development.   Get a QB killed, give him bad weapons around him, refuse to use the running game... all detrimental to long term QB development and health.

Reagor was sold to us as a speedster(4.2). Honestly it seems like that was a lie and he's more like a 4.3 or 4.4

He may still be a good receiver for us in the long term but he's not exactly the burner we thought

I think his speed is fine. He’s probably somewhere 4.3 to 4.4 which is plenty of speed to win at the NFL level. I don’t think you see it completely on display at times because I still think he’s processing and thinking too much out there so it slows him down because of the time he missed with the injury and the fact they had no off-season activities.

I also think  there’s times where he doesn’t run good routes or he slows down on a route instead of running it through. That passed from Jalen hurts when you watch it on the all 22 might have been caught up with the wind but it looks like hurts slows down on it. I don’t know if he thought he was going to overrun it or mistimed it

The irony is that Justin Jefferson's speed was faster than people thought it would be... and he could only play in the slot.   Reagor ran slower than was anticipated and he it was believed, due to his speed could be used in a variety of ways, one of them being as a punt returner.

Jefferson goes to Minny, and blows up the league.

Reagor comes here and can't even be used as the primary punt returner (a job he did in college) for some reason.  And it took until Week 12 or 13 to give him an end around (aka, "here's the ball, now just use your athleticism, kid") and  until the following week to see him get a flanker screen ("catch ball, and make people miss").

Something is very wrong with both the scouting and the coaching here.   Scouting:  Big time whiff on Jefferson, and seemingly missing the boat on Reagor as well.   Coaching: Can't find a way to make a player with some plus athleticism attributes a more integral part of the offense/ST while continuing to showcase Greg JAG Ward.

If Lurie can't see this, then shame on him and he should be forced to watch his own terrible movies non-stop until he cries "Uncle" and fires everyone.

Well we’ve discussed this before the inability of the eagles to maximize strengths of their personnel for months until December is absolutely baffling. It’s not just schedule and not just other circumstances you can see it on film. They don’t maximize their guys strengths or understand who their personnel is until December. Case and point, running a backup shoulder throw to reagor covered by Bradbury when if you are doing a back shoulder throw it should’ve been to fulgham who’s strength is something like that.  Add on fulgham’s stretch if you go back it’s all in second half of games. So he was hot and they just didn’t utilize his hot stretch even more as he got 1-2 targets before midway through the third quarter for weeks.

It's the "we're smarter than everyone else" mentality that is running rampant around NovaCare. If this team just drafted, coached, ran play calls at the bare minimum level they need to be, we probably are winning the division easily.

You're right. Calvin Johnson sucked in college and busted as a pro.

Eh, Reagor has better college numbers than Metcalf. Even JJAW had better numbers than him.

Reagor is fine, and will be even better with a decent coaching staff.  The fact he wasn't being used as the primary PR does not mean he can't be used as the primary PR by smarter coaches -- he managed to feel his way down the field for a 73-yard TD, even though folks on here aren't even happy with the longest PR the Eagles have had in a long while.

It must have happened by accident, I suppose.  Maybe hypnosis .....

Idk what world some of you are living in where you actually expected someone to run a 4.2 and are disappointed he's probably a sub 4.4 guy.

I hate saying this because that Super Bowl win means everything to me, to Eagles fans and to that organization that we finally did it. However winning that Super Bowl maybe is the factor in solidiying the "we are smarter than everyone else” in that front office and gone down the road where we have gotten to now. Before that season, i think Howie and the Eagles were kind of humbled with what had transpired with chip and where they sat.
