Thursday football ratings stink? LOL... like literally laughed when i read this.

Could be the dumbest thing Ive read in awhile actually

Sunday night football, MNF and Thursday night football were all top 4 watched series last year(SNf 2, TNF 3, MNF 4, so Thursday got better ratings than money.

Of the top 100 shows watched last year all 18 games(thanksgiving) were in the top 85 lol.

Apparently you can't read, I wrote," Sink" as in decline it decrease, not stink.

You know for someone that claims that everything everyone posts is the stupidest thing you've ever read every day maybe if you could read it wouldn't seem as stupid😒

Has adding a game on Thursday night lessened the anticipation of Sunday? No. Will throwing in a Tuesday game? No.

The days of watching games just because you like the sport are over. My roommate watched that game last night because he had $100 on the Chargers and Darren Waller on two of his fantasy teams. That’s the direction the league is going in.

Adapt or die

Or I could just choose not to watch.

The worst part of TNF are the god-awful color rush uniforms they have teams wear

I mean part of the problem is that there are so many stoppages and breaks to ads that the games are just not fun to watch live.  I mean last night it seemed like there was 5 advertisements run for every play.  it's just not enjoyable when many people have cut cable and stream most content with no ads.

There's 2 changes I would make would be do not break for commercials at times other than quarters and halftime.  The other change that would be more substantial would be make the play clock 30 or 35 seconds instead of 40.  I mean there are just too many breaks in the game.  Too often teams just run down the clock at the ends of quarters and the half.

Yup, I usually watch the games a day after in a replay, commercial free and when I do watch a game on live TV the frequency of commercial breaks seen excessive.

I'm not how many on here watch rugby?

Rugby is kind of like soccer in that there aren't many in game breaks so cutting to a commercial is going to cut into game time, where as in football there are a ton of stoppage times and sometimes they stop gameplay for no other reason than to run a commercial, it's annoying and such is life☹️

It looks like that's the attitude of many fans

I would happily take Dorsey as GM over Howie.

Meh — that’s a hit job by a Browns SI writer with more opinion than fact.  The facts are Dorsey has a very strong evaluation record in the draft, although I still think Baker Mayfield at #1 was a head-scratcher

I don’t have any interest in Eric Bieniemy as head coach, though.

Disagree. In KC, he’s been good with the first two rounds with Fisher, Ford, Peters and Jones. Everything from the third down is not good with the exception of Kelce. I don’t give him credit for Tyreek Hill in the 6th, everyone knew he was an elite prospect with major character concerns and it was just a matter of who is going to roll the dice. Same thing with the Browns. Good top picks with a no brainer like Garrett. Good first round picks with Ward and Peppers. Then there is Chubb and a whole lot of nothing. Then add the Kitchens decision. There’s a reason he was fired twice in a span of 3 years.

Did Sewel not play in the PAC 12 championship yesterday?

For a good part of the season, Doug was game planning on an offense that had on three of thirteen "starters”.  I include Ward and Goedert as starters because they play Ward in the slot and Goedert in 12 personnel a lot.   That is on top of a shortened preseason where the number 1 new WR missed time.  Another of the rookie WRs started the season on IR. Maybe Doug’s playcalling was affected by what he had available and their experience at the plays. The CBA really limits practice during the season.

Howie is at fault because the Eagles don’t have five starting level tackles and five starting level Gs.  It is too early to judge the new WRs.  Yes, they need another RB but all holes cannot be filled in one offseason.  JJAW looks like a bust compared to Metcalf but I am not convinced Metcalf would look as good on the Eagles with all the injuries.  I suspect the plan was to replace Jeffery in the X with JJAW, DJax with Reagor and probably eventually Ward with Hightower in the slot.  The back ups would be Fulgham, Watkins and Ward with a chance to upgrade every year.  Might still workout.  Recognizing depth needs on the interior OL, they brought in Driscoll. Long term, they gambled on Wanogho as a swing T.  Might still workout.

D has been ignored.  They added what should be either the SS or the nickel S in Wallace.  A ST ace and potential backup at SAM or MIKE in Bradley and Gerry’s  or Riley’s replacement at WIL in Taylor.  Fact none of these guys played much is on Schwartz. The rest of the secondary was addressed by the Slay trade.  Slay may have been the best CB available last year.  Now the good news is, this coming year is a good CB class.  Last year was a SS class at S, this year there are more FS available. The Avery pick was a bust it seems but getting Dallas’ fifth wasn’t.

I am less pessimistic about the rebuild in progress than a lot of you.  Afan may have sprinkled some of his into my drink.  I will say, if the Eagles were going to have an injury riddled belly flop season, the Covid one was the one to have.

That said there are some changes that must be made next year.  Doug needs an OC.    I don’t think that should be Press Taylor.  He also needs a real QB coach. That cannot be Press Taylor either.  The run ratio may have been impacted by Boobie’s health, the back up Gs and TE injuries but I also smell Marty.  He has to go, even if he is a scapegoat for the run ratio.  He enables it I am sure.  Schwartz hasn’t been extended so I suspect a change may be in the cards.  I don’t have an issue with the way he plays the wide nine but I sure would like to see changes in the back seven defenses and a bit more blitzes, stunts etc. BTW, a switch to a more JJ type defense makes Avery a speedball.  I do think they need a Curry replacement, a DE that is big enough to slide inside.   Those type of DEs can be had on the second day.   We’ll need some DE help soon but I am not convinced next year’s draft has any starting quality DEs.

Howie did a bad job because he buried us in a a bad cap situation, which only gets worse in 2022 unless harsh steps are taken immediately this offseason with the plan to dig out immediately.

Howie did a bad job because he brought back and overpaid aging jnjury plagued veterans and expected them to play like they did in their prime.

Howie did a bad job because he traded away draft picks for rental players that the coaches never figured out how to incorporate.

Howie did a bad job because rather than looking to fill in spots like RB (JK Dobbins would have beena great fit at backup RB here) he chose to make this team 'a QB factory' rather than putting legitimate weapons around his QB.

Howie did a bad job because he threw more money at DT, rather than recognizing that WR was the biggest problem area.

Howie did a bad job, because he brought back Jason Peters again... and paid him more money (which we cant afford), rather than find a better solution... or just let it roll with what we had and let the yoing guys grow into the job.  (Not ideal, but ncuh cheaper and much more fruitful for the obviously needed rebuild to come than wasting money, practice and game reps on a 38 year old HAS BEEN.)

Howie did a bad job because he lacked any type of foresight... the thing he's supposed to be good at, and dug a deeper hole in the cap with his offseason moves, even after we knew that Covid was going to impact the economics.  Expensive DT and expensive CB...

Defense has not been ignored.  Defense has been filled with failed draft picks and failed trades at CB.  And lots of money at DL, and tons of money at S, while not putting any succession plan in place.  Not negligence, incompetance.

That being the case maybe he should be hired to draft the first 3 rounds and let Howie draft the last 4

I never realized the Eagles are the only team with a logo that faces to the left

Or fire everyone and get some fresh blood in here. I’d rather go with a young up and comer than a retread who at best is a marginal upgrade over Roseman.

Maybe i read too much into this but you have to wonder how committed he is to football.

Dorsey as GM is awful. Dorsey as a #2 or #3 in an organization is a great add. He comes from the Packers tree, while the rest of the staff has primarily learned under the Ravens tree. As long as Dorsey/Weidl can find alignment, we're in good shape.

If Howie still has final say, then it isn't going to help much.

He opted out when the pac-12 wasn’t even committed to playing in 2020. And he’s by far the best OL prospect in the class. There’s no benefit to him playing in a wonky season like this.

I agree. Consultants are here today gone tomorrow without a lot of accountability.  And Lurie is using them to avoid making decisions such as having a legit OC and deciding on Howie's future.   Give people a title and a role and streamline processes.

I mean, he pretty much built the Cleveland team that you see today, no?

If Lurie is so set on having everything be a group decision, why doesn't he just save the money and start a thread in here?

Hell we'll give him opinions on things he didn't even ask about.  All the info he'd ever need.

Lots of other REALLY good players stayed in

He could also invite McConnell and Pelosi so that nobody would agree on anything just to add to the mix.

Looks like Jane Slater has had some augmentation done
