It’s not Christmas anymore, but the Eagles backing into the playoffs then beating Brady in a playoff matchup would be a great start to 2021.

Dare to dream — I’m leaning toward the belief the Eagles get eliminated today.

Adding another game, without adding an additional bye week disgusts me.

Especially with the cries for player safety.  They want to completely change key aspects of the game for the name of player safety yet make them play another game.  What they should be doing is looking at some of the unique special teams rules the XFL developed and incorporate them into the NFL.  Make special teams important again instead of a wasted play.

The problem with the NFL is that 99% of what they do is based off greed for their bottom line.  I get it, the NFL is a business.  But eventually you're going to create a product that people don't want and never asked for.

Ed Werder reports that Doug has been counselling Hurts to "concentrate on executing the play call before improvising” ....... oh, God

To be fair here, players don’t want the extra bye. They had a two bye season in 1993 and players hated it. Even now they are ok with 17 games and 1 bye, they just want to shorten the preseason. So you can’t just blame the NFL for player safety here. The players have to cooperate also.

Demarcus Lawrence going against Matt Pryor seems like an ideal day to not improvise

We want him to be a real QB, so it seems like a good idea.

Let me see the blog faithful who actually want a loss to the Cowboys today for draft position. Bet no one is bringing up that non sense today.

I’ll take a loss. Top six pick sounds great to me.

So basically we need to win out and we need WFT to lose today and the Giants to lose out.   And we win the division at 6-9-1.  :Eagle_smiley:

No, we just need the Giants to lose 1 of the last 2.  Which is highly likely.

The biggest domino to fall is the CAR - WAS game today.  If Panthers can win we have a good chance.

I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the Steelers implode.

Oh, I put them squarely in my sights on a post a while ago.  It's the NFLPA.

I really hate this.  They are choosing to water down the product on the field so they, the most lucrative sports league on the planet, can make even more revenue.  This will lead to expanded playoffs so they'll be like the NBA and NHL where half the teams make the post season.  In the near future the NFL will look more like Arena Football played outside on a bigger field.

Not sure I agree. How is it watered down? they add one reg season game and remove 1 or 2 preseason games. Lets be honest, the players are paid for the preseason games too so they are getting the same games. They are just being babies and want to sit on their butts for preseason. If your getting paid for the game you should be playing and not crying.

I think its more lucrative that season ticket holders like me have to pay for watered down preseason games. Im happy with going down 2-3 preseason games that really dont matter anymore since the starters dont play to prepare and extend the season by one real game. Cause we dont need 4 preseason games to decide the last few spots on the team.

Please refer to my post about a handful of posts after this one (the one you quoted).

Me Too.  Prob will get swept up in rooting for a win during the game, but logically I know the best thing is for the Eagles to lose today.

I have so much respect for Frank knowing he was the real reason for our SB season success that I am rooting for him and the Colts going forward in the AFC. Great coach. Wish we could trade Doug and a 1st rounder to Indy for Frank back. Id do it in a heart beat.

If Bengals and Eagles tie, who gets tie breaker?

I wonder how much whining Jets fans will do this week if the Jags beat the Bears, and they beat the Browns?

i believe the eagles , strength of schedule. but don't get me lying lol

Pretty sure the Bengals have the harder strength of schedule, which should give the Eagles the higher pick?

I don’t know how people can root for a loss against the Cowboys.
