All of this could be moot if Hurts comes back to earth and we lose 2 straight in typical 2020 Eagles fashion, but I damn sure won’t pull for that.

I swear Phillip Rivers looks like he's 80 years old when he throws.

Same as Big Ben and Cam Newton!

That doesn’t change the fact that the picks are more valuable. A meaningless win does nothing.

Well clearly when you say meaningless that’s where we differ.

Again, a win in an elimination game where Hurts takes another step is not meaningless.

Its actually the very opposite.

Whatever...Go Eagles.

Higher draft pick, new coach, new GM, none of these things guarantee winning in the future...especially if we don’t have a QB.

Winning against Dallas keeps us in the playoff race and gives hope that we may have a QB.

Seems very rational to me.

You said  that "rooting for a loss was just as irrational as rooting for a win".    So now you are all in with rooting for a win, as if that guarantees something?

If Washington wins today, beating Dallas doesn't do anything about the playoff race.  And 'winning' in and of itself doesn't mean anything about having a QB either.   Eagles beat Dallas with Wentz.  So, what does beating Dallas today actually guarantee?

I'm quite ambivalent about this game today, because its Dallas... I want a Win.   Because I want everyone at NovaCare given their walking papers... I want a Loss.   And I blame everyone involved with the organization that has made this what the 2nd to last game of the season, against Dallas, with the division still up for grabs has become.   This game is not what it was supposed to be at the start of the season.   And frankly, a win today, as good as it might feel in the moment, likely would be worse in the long run than a loss.  And I can't stand that that is where this team has left the fanbase... to have this type of thought process for each of us to weigh as the game sits ready to start.

Don't try to conflate Hurts playing well with the Eagles winning the game.  Those are not the same.  No one except hardcore WPA wants Hurts to do badly.

Best case is Hurts plays well but we lose, perhaps because of the decimated defense.

Nope. I want Hurts to play well and get the Eagles the win in a pressure filled elimination game.

Its absolutely related.

It’s more about who is picking the players than where you are in the draft...ask Detroit.

Now maybe some of you are still of the belief that Lurie fires Roseman with 2 more losses...unfortunately I don’t believe that’s happening.

Some of us are of the belief that its more likely with the losses than with two more wins.  But, I can't pull for a loss today.

Can't root for a Dallas win. If it happens it happens.

We'll see what he does today.    Just getting a win, with a bad performance by Hurts... that wouldn't be very good, would it?

Go Cowboys - get Roseman fired.

You’re not going to get me to say winning against Dallas is bad under any circumstances!

But he had an MVP season so he should be great still, right?

I decided that I will root for whatever happens. I’m just on the side of the football gods today. Also Carolina looks terrible.

I'm not trying to get you to say anything.   But, merely winning, isn't necessary a good thing in this case.  Yes, it's Dallas.  So, there are those emotions... but rationally, if change is the best way forward (not that its guaranteed to be better, but the current path we are on is NOT good right now), then not winning this game today (irrespective of the opponent) is likely the most fortuitous outcome.

Jags have the first pick in the draft.

Usually if Dallas beats us I'm known for throwing a thing or 2. Today I'll just take another sip of scotch

I think Haskins fumbled

Stop yapping and start the game

It looks incomplete but maybe.

Yup, turnover WFT

They will likely find a way to foul it up.

Meh... I never thought he was great.  As a runner he was great but throwing he's always been up and down.  Mostly down.

I don’t really root for losses during the game, but I know a loss is more beneficial to this franchise. There’s no doubt about that.
