Joel being out doesn't mean that they should have twice as many turnovers as the Cavs.   That's just sloppy basketball.

What happened to Joel?  I assumed he was out due to the score.  Is it injury related?

"Tight back" for Embiid.  Joel being out means our other "star" has to score more to pick up the team. 7 shots in now 26 minutes and they are down by 30 to Cleveland.   Ben is not important.   Ben is average.

Dang, the Texans would currently have the 3rd pick. Good for Miami.

Would be funny if they drafted a QB in that spot.  I might be wrong, but Tua doesn't look like the guy to me.  He's built like a high school senior and his arm confirms that.

You been hitting the sauce?

I always predict an undefeated season, but I reserve the right to adjust my prediction on a weekly basis... maybe one of these years, I'll look like a genius!

Oh, so doing a cartwheel/flip into the end zone your first game back from a broken fricken ankle was a bad idea. Who could of saw that one coming?

As he did i said oh jeez don't hurt yourself.

Main takeaways from today:

Hurts looked way, way over his head when he had to drop back in the pocket and pass his way out of a hole.  Turnovers are fine for a rookie.  He looked bad when the running gimmick was removed and he had to pass.  Arm talent, reads, accuracy...he looked the part of a running qb who is not a pro style qb.

Reagor is putting the finishing touches on a pretty miserable rookie year.  Desean, Hightower, and probably even Watkins have shown to be more disruptive deep threats this year.  Reagor looks like a gadget player, not a WR.

The worst part is that this was as obvious in April as it is today.

We were only operating on a four-game sample size with Hurts.

Game 1: Didn’t really do QB things. Completely unsustainable play style.

Game 2: Played well. Did real QB things. Managed the pocket and went through more progressions. Good game for a rookie.

Game 3: Fell apart. Arm appeared weak, Poor ball security. Bad accuracy.

He’s a rookie so he should improve of course, but he didn’t show enough in those three games to make me move on from Wentz.

Hurts's athleticism masked a lot of issues with this offense. He's better than Wentz in that department and I thought the other better thing he did was throw the ball away when nothing was there instead of forcing something stupid or taking an awful sack. But he's just as fumble-prone as Wentz and doesn't have as good as an arm. Both QBs were at their best when extending plays and improvising outside of the pocket, which is more of a detriment to the offensive design than anything.

There is reason to get excited about Hurts's play as a rookie, but this type of offense isn't sustainable with him long-term. Hell, it's not even sustainable for an entire game. That's three games in a row where opposing teams have figured out this offense in the second half after giving up yards and points in the first half. 7 points against NO, 6 points against AZ, and 0 points today in the second half of all those games. Defenses are solving this offense with Hurts relatively quickly. Extrapolate that over the span of a 16-game season with more tape on him and it's not pretty.

But that's not necessarily on Jalen. That's on Doug's inability to adapt and adjust.

So we need to lose and we need Houston, Atlanta and Cinncinatti to win.

At 7:52 PM Eastern time, we had 533 members and guests (combined), accessing the site. That's only 3 shy of our record of 536 (ironically 3 months ago exactly, September 27th).

I wasn't on at the time, but I'm assuming that if there had been any issues, someone would have mentioned it to me. So maybe this upgrade will be the last one until next season when we go 19-0 (20-0 if they make it a 17 game schedule).

The board was firing on all cylinders.  Next to zero lag and no crashes.  Well done.

I think the Eagles get the tiebreaker on Cincinnati, but not sure.  Having them win would be nice though, because it means not rotating every round with them.

I get what he’s going for with an answer like this, but this doesn’t fly to a fan base like this

It really could’ve helped if Houston won that game. What a bunch of Fing losers they are. They let that offense drive up and down the field all game long. Just pathetic.

As it stands, it would be a coin flip. Given the Bengals play the Ravens ideal situation would be Eagles loss and Bengals win. If Bengals lose, and Dallas loses I think that gives us the SOS tie breaker. If both Ravens and Cowboys win, SOS probably stays the same.

If Hurts playing poorly is a 342 yard game, then we're on the right track with him as our QB.

Hurts had Matt Pryor, all the false starts penalties and the Pederson play-calling to deal with. Despite all that we were still moving the ball.

My number #1 concern is the fumbling. 2 hands Jalen.

He can believe whatever he wants.   The record says what you are.  And what they are is the worst team in the weakest division in the NFL.

Translated this is "The sun will come out...tomorrow...you can bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow...there will be sun."

Yet all of them have had a big week at some point in their rookie years....Reagor never has.

Still one week to play. I don’t think he’s a gadget player. I just think on a bad team with bad qb play most of the season he hasn’t had a real chance to succeed.  He looks like he could be an above average receiver if he improves his route running and is in a better system. I agree that nothing is certain about him at this point and that’s disappointing.

I remember the good ole days when the players would spike the ball instead of themselves.

He got lucky the defender gave up. Once Jackson changed direction and didn't go directly for the TD I was expecting him to get tackled

This play fooled me once again for about 1 quarter.  Is he really hurt again?  If so....I'd like to post something positive about that 1 play, because DJax was and still is an awesome football player.

Regardless of whether he's hurt or not, he once again showed his ability to create separation at the last second possible.  He looked like he was 25 years old on the play.  That defender thought he had great coverage on Desean, but Desean baited him like he always does, created his own separation at the last possible second, and made the DB look like a total idiot.

I know, I just remember that being a debate on the old board. I hope someone else remembers. lol

I do, unfortunately

Pretty sure it was part of a bet someone tried reneging on by saying #10 was not within the top 10. Might have been beast

A lot of empty yards against the one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Disagree. Winston had 15 career games in 5 seasons with that many or more yards. Yards aren’t everything

For everyone that insists that benching Wentz was/is a mistake, a game like this is part of the reason why you would bench Wentz.   Although the offense has looked better with Hurts under center, today's game showed other glaring issues with the team...injuries above all but it also showed some bad mistakes made by Pederson and poor adjustments made by the coaching staff.   It also showed that Hurts has potential but he's still a rookie and he's going to make rookie mistakes.

AND it shows that the struggles of the offense this season aren't all Wentz' fault.  That said, I believe Wentz needs some one on one, mechanic/footwork specific coaching in the off season.

As for what will happen in the off-season?  That's anyone's guess at this point but both Lurie and Howie may have some tough decisions to make.

Nah.  DJax was an awesome football player.   What he is now is an oft-injured aging player.  He can flash, but he's not an awesome player anymore.  He's damaged goods.   And that flip was idiotic.

I just don't know how Doug watched the Cards game last week and thought, Ya know what this offense really needs? Less Quez Watkins.
