I'll take 9 wins, if it gets one in the playoffs, wild card teams have won Superbowls.

9 wins is a winning record and gives one a chance.

Where as winning the division this year with 5 or 6 wins is just pointless as one will just get smacked in the playoffs by obvious better teams.

The point was a nine win team does not mean you have a good roster. A nine win team is more likely you are slightly above average. The Giants went on to win two Super Bowls that way but they were also super fortunate they got hot at the right time and super fortunate in those games to have some spectacular plays go their way. They are the definition of an outlier. Most nine win teams are out in the first round of the playoffs because their roster is slightly above average and average in the NFL is 8-8

Imagine calling someone a moron whos 1000% correct. T1000 hasnt watched a football game if he thinks dropping back 50 times means nothing.

Hey dummy, please go point out where I have ever disputed that. It's just like I said, you are a Fing moron who has zero common sense or the ability to stay within the frame work of a discussion.

Go find where I have disputed that. Good god you are Fing dense.

I simply refuse to go thru another season like this, pray the owner agrees. We need a new look and philosophy. I do now want to be sitting around week 4 or 5 next year and having a replay of this especially with the 100% injury rate.

Well, after yesterday's shitshow and today's aftermath, I managed to add only two to the ignore list.

What an all star line up it is!

Care to share.  Maybe we should start a who is on your ignore list thread.

I could compile a spreadsheet.

Don is on mine. That guy just comes along posts on the new board and then leaves and then the board crashes. Never again

Probably the ones who do the following:

Man, what the hell was Jacquet doing there?

MAKE MORE WENTZCUSES!

Wild card team hasnt won a superbowl in ages and they wont this year.

9 wins, as stated earlier, and even 10 wins is purgatory and a playoff appearance is Stalin and the rooster for the fans(fans being the rooster)

Depends on what that team does with those 10 wins and the trajectory of the team going forward no?

If one makes it to the NFCCG with 10 wins and loses but going forward looks like they can compete the next year then 10-6 wasn't bad.

If one goes 9-7 makes a 1st round playoff exit and going forward is dilusionally thinking one is still a playoff team then yeah 9-7 is purgatory.

Depends where the team is at. I think Howie and Lurie think the goal is making the playoffs, because hey anything can happen, or so I'm told where as the goal should be winning Superbowls not just getting to the tourney in and the best way to win Superbowls is by building good teams that are built to win in the playoffs.

Reid for the most part built teams that could win in the playoffs, he just never got over the hump here, much like the Bills of the 90s who could never win.

Howie and Doug and Lurie think the gold standard is making the playoffs every year and the pat themselves on the back and then back to the grindstone of trying to make sure they get back to the playoffs instead of building a championship team.

The sad thing is that I did not have an ignore list on the old board.

It tells you how bad things have become with the influx of nitwits and TATErs.

If anyone told me the Eagles would be 1-7 after the bye with the 1 win against the Saints.........I would have laughed and laughed and laughed.  Looks like it's gonna happen!

Oh good... more meaningless numbers.   Thanks for sharing.  Quez Watkins must have been lining up correctly.

doug allowed this to happen on his watch , team got soft after the superbowl thinking they would be on top just being status quo and not being hungry to fight to stay on top.

The new norm

Sad stat the eagles and Jets are the only two teams in the league that have yet to score 30 points this year. Even more sad the Jets have scored 27 or more points more times then the eagles. 4 to 2

Retaining the GM and HC basically tells the current players and fans that they think a little move here and there can get you back to the top of the division or a winning season. That's not the case IMO with this team. The way this roster is depleted of talent, I think we are setup to have a new GM/HC to bring in pieces to mesh with some of the younger players that we have and hopefully draft some good young players, and not just in the 1st round because we have the #6 overall pick.

I just wonder if Lurie is struggling with the idea of doing an overhaul when we once won a SB with these coaches, just 3 short years ago. And were very close to potentially reaching another NFC championship after that. I get that the league changes but I don't understand our downfall since 2017/2018. It just doesn't make sense from a coaching standpoint. As a fan, I'm not trying to hold onto the SB year but what has changed with the coaching to be this bad?

Was Goedert a wasted pick? Will Dillard have a future here now because of Mailata, or will he now be moved to a position that he cannot master? JJ Artega is a joke, we waived Shareef Miller, Mack Hollins was a bust. Was Hurts a wasted pick? I mean the drafting has been such a joke I don't know how the scout department and Howie survive.

Just when you think things can't look any worse... So we still have a big need at WR, are  60 million over the cap and this is the list of free agent WR's

Chris Godwin, Kenny Golladay, Allen Robinson, Will Fuller, Ju Ju, Corey Davis, Marvin Jones, TY Hilton, Curis Samuel, Sammy Watkins

Chris Godwin would be a Godsend here... that said... It'll never happen.  They never bring in the WRs I want.

It really doesn’t get any simpler than this.

The game preparation, play design, and play calling are all on full display when you have an extra week against teams. Yet Doug is 1-5.

We really can’t adequately judge any of the players performance under this putrid coaching staff.

Yep.  2 catches on 3 targets for 57 yards makes you the best player on offense.  That in itself really says a lot about how bad this team is.

Steve Serby, who was voted "most accurate" by his peers in mock drafts looks like he wants the Eagles to take Patrick Surtain.

Serby had us taking Aiyuk last year

Definitely wouldn't hate it if we draft somewhere in that 6-10 range.  Having a 2nd capable cover guy would have helped so much yesterday.

Please quit wanting them so we can bask in the glory of good receivers lol

A few things crossed my mind in reference to Jacksonville securing the first overall pick:

1.  If Lawrence doesn't want to go to Jacksonville, could he and/or his agent influence Jacksonville to trade the pick (or pick him and trade)?  Similar to what Eli Manning did.

2.  If so, how much more value is added to the first 5-10 picks since there could likely be several teams needing to trade up for a deal to happen?

Could be among the more exciting draft days in recent history, imo.

Guaranteed nothing will come from it.

The league will say he was just jumping to shed his block and the heads colliding was just incidental.

In a league that emphasizes the passing game like never before, the Eagles' worst two units are arguably the WRs and the DBs.

Roster building, Howie Roseman style.

Currently trending a bit back toward the run since 15-16. IMO, over this period, its a league that emphasizes defensive PI more than ever before -- the 5yd, 1st down, drive extender that could be called, like holding, on just about every play. Agree that Roseman can't evaluate WRs or DBs at all. Reagor looks horribly like Josh Huff. Hope he gets a lot better.

Just my personal belief we are in an offensive league. Even if you had two good corners you are still likely giving up around 20-24 points every week with the rules and against teams like the chiefs or packers likely giving up closer to thirty. I wouldn’t hate the pick but i think offensive talent in the top 10 is the way i would try to go. Whether that’s OL or WR or QB (depending on how you feel about the QB). If not one where we pick I’d look to trade down to get more draft picks to infuse young talent.
