If anyone is saying that no losses were Wentz fault - or more to the point that he doesn't share the blame - then they are idiots too. I said before that Wentz and Hurts exact circumstances are different - I didn't get to see the whole game yesterday so I can't assess but I will say that if the bulk of the loss is on Hurts then rookies will be rookies. I'm a Wentz phan - I'm a Hurts phan - I don't need to tear down one to prop up the other. Wentz needed to be benched - having him continue to play wasn't doing him or the team any favors. IMO Hurts has played well so far (Cowboys included) - he's a rookie - it's only 3 games - BUT - he could have ished the bed as a starter so far and it would still only be 3 games - he didn't - he played well - take the positive for what it is.

No loss (or win) ever falls squarely at the foot, arm, head of a single individual... ever.  It's a 60 minute game for a reason, and football is the most "team" sport of any of them.

Wentz struggled.  The OL struggled.  Defense struggled.  WRs struggled.  RBs have struggled (look at their pass pro misses).  The TEs have struggled.  Not a single area of this team hasn't struggled.   Even the Pro Bowl (from last year) LS struggled at times.

Oh good... more meaningless numbers.   Thanks for sharing.  Quez Watkins must have been lining up correctly.

PFF is solid.  It uses the same analytics NFL teams use to evaluate players, etc.

Eagles trade Wentz and draft Zach Wilson. Let Hurts start until Wilson is up to speed.

Mass hysteria. TATE explodes.

I'm telling you, its going to be Howie reaching for his alma matter and taking Klye Trask in the top 10.

No one in here has put all the blame on Hurts for yesterday.

This is a stupid narrative that keeps getting parroted and needs to die.

Consider the source... then find the ignore button.

The point was a nine win team does not mean you have a good roster. A nine win team is more likely you are slightly above average. The Giants went on to win two Super Bowls that way but they were also super fortunate they got hot at the right time and super fortunate in those games to have some spectacular plays go their way. They are the definition of an outlier. Most nine win teams are out in the first round of the playoffs because their roster is slightly above average and average in the NFL is 8-8

Yup. I think the giants winning the super bowl with 9-7 records was the worst thing to ever happen for the eagles.

Howie and Lurie just think hey if we get 9 wins win our division we can win the super bowl, the giants did it!

Or one could say screw that I'm going to build a really good roster that can win in the playoffs and a culture that anything short of a super bowl is a failure.

He k Doug said he should retain his job because he's made the playoffs 3 out of 5 years.

Mind you one of those was a lucky double doink game they were outplayed and last year they were bounced 1st round after sleep walking through the majority of the regular season. No one thought he these guys got hot at the end and are primed for a super bowl run, they looked like hot garbage even in those 4 wins they were just hot garbage with heart.

In 2004 from day one every one who was paying attention knew that team was going to be really good and make a run, that team was stacked and had won in the playoffs.

Heading into 2018 2019 I didn't think, these guys are really good and can be on the super bowl again, I thought, these guys should probably win the division and once in the tourney give them selves a chance, which is true but seems a low bar to me and any thing other than a super bowl should be considered a failure

The sad thing is that I did not have an ignore list on the old board.

It tells you how bad things have become with the influx of nitwits and TATErs.

Took the Wentz haters a while to work up the courage to come in here today.  Funny thing is they keep bringing up the fact that he's a rookie 2nd round pick. No kidding guys, think maybe that's why we didn't think it would work out for us in the long term?

Yup the 2018 run was also benefitted by the fraud that is Kirk cousins losing to the bears in a meaningless game for the bears. Otherwise they miss the playoffs. Last year worst division in football. This year it’s worse than 2019 and they finished in last place.

But according to the haters a rookie 2nd round draft pick would fix all that.

Or  they are a ton of people blaming doug, the defense, jalen and bad roster construction for the loss yesterday. Kind of like what a ton of us were doing when wentz was in there.

I have repeatedly stated you cannot judge any QB playing on this team this year, Wentz and or Hurts. They both were under the same set of circumstances. PLaying on a team devoid of offensive talent save for a RB the HC refuses to use.

I can’t believe they moved the last game to Sunday night. Yuck!

Just my personal belief we are in an offensive league. Even if you had two good corners you are still likely giving up around 20-24 points every week with the rules and against teams like the chiefs or packers likely giving up closer to thirty. I wouldn’t hate the pick but i think offensive talent in the top 10 is the way i would try to go. Whether that’s OL or WR or QB (depending on how you feel about the QB). If not one where we pick I’d look to trade down to get more draft picks to infuse young talent.

agree, we have to get another weapon on offense. Provided we can still play well enough with the walking wounded coming back on o-line.

Green Bay is 16th in points allowed at 23.53.  Only 3 teams give up less than 20 PPG.  Eagles give up 26.5 PPG.  Problem is Eagles only score 21.3 PPG.

Fire Doug Pederson. Yesterday's gameplan on both sides of the ball was terrible. We were undisciplined. He's not even sticking up for player safety.

Desean nailed all 20 of his snaps.

In a league that emphasizes the passing game like never before, the Eagles' worst two units are arguably the WRs and the DBs.

Roster building, Howie Roseman style.

And we've put a ton of resources into DT.

If this remains true and I agree with you here, does it just further justify the need for a stout defensive front? Plus the way I see it, more and more corners that get drafted in the top 20 don't seem to pan out like teams had hoped.

Yup. In 2017 the eagles allocated the least amount of money to corner and we're top5 in the league allocated money to safety.

Couple reasons, top safeties are less expensive than top corners.

Safeties also do more as they are more multiple as a player like Jenkins played in the slot in the Box on the boundary and deep.

Also as you mention if the rules are so heavily skewed towards offense and passing, then why use resources on trying to stop something the league is actively trying to make better.

Why not Instead put resources into the thing the league is trying to make easier?

I put it out there.  But they don't understand that Hurts fell victim to the exact same thing as Wentz, and his legs couldn't get him out of it.
