Guy s hit the bed. He should have been on the bench halfway through the second qtr. Worst CB play I've ever seen in my life. Gallup is a mid-tier WR and Jacket made him look like Megatron. Total negligence on the part of Jim Schwartz.  Jim should be subpoenaed and tried in a criminal court for leaving that bag of trash on the field.

Who would you have replaced him with?

Was there anyone left on the bench?

I agree but again he never should have been put in that position. He should have been benched sooner but it's not just about this particular game. We should have had a viable, healthy CB2 who can cover these receivers after looking for one for literally years but we don't because this front office can't evaluate and obtain starting-caliber CBs.

Lurie needs to look at how this team has started out of the gates the past 3 seasons. That proves there is a problem with preparation.  You can't just look at fast finishes. Why isn't this team prepared out of camp?

Well now we don't even have fast finishes

Didn't seem to impact Tom Brady going to a new team, or rookie of the year Justin Jefferson.

Well Tom Brady as usual was cheating during the off-season and having unsanctioned practices with his receivers plus he's an established vet by like 20 years, I can't imagine he needs much time to get ready.

Jefferson yeah absolutely, he's in the same boat as all the other rookie receivers as is his OC and HC and WR coach and he's game ready from game 1, having said that most thought he was the most game ready WR in the draft, still though it's not like he had OTAs.

Doug bringing up lack of OTAs is weak, every other team missed OTAs as well and every other team in the division was also implementing new coaches to boot.

I've always thought Doug's pressers were moronic but I gave him a pass because of 2017, today though not defending Mailata for the cheap shot against him and bringing up lack of OTAs as a scape goat for his crappy coaching is last of many last straws🤔

Yes, I also would give up a 7th in 2029 to move up from 6 to 3

99.99999% of the league would do that and then some which is why im getting at. and 99.99999% of the league would do that and then some for Wilson and the kid from NDST

Right, and my point is that if the price gets that high, it's likely QBs will be taken there which means the Eagles won't have to trade up. If the Eagles need to trade up for Chase, then the price won't be that much. If the price to move up that much is that substantial then that likely means the team drafting there other has offers similar from other teams wanting to move up for a QB or that team taking a QB themselves and will only trade out if it's an offer they can't refuse. Which then pushes guys like Chase and Sewell down to you.

If a team sitting at #3 has no offers to move up for a QB, then the price isn't going to be that astronomically high. If they do then that means a QB is going there and you won't need to trade up.

Damn April is going to take forever to get here.

Why?  This team needs an offensive mind that plays to the strengths of the players and that has proven himself.  To me, Duce has proven that he's great at shuffling the rotation of the RBs, especially when one of them has the hot hand.

They need an offensive HC who is both QB friendly and knows how to play to the strengths of his personnel.  Either way, whatever the Eagles FO decides on Wentz (though IMO with his contract and our cap Hell that it's unlikely we trade him) we're going to need a HC and an OC who are able to make the O easier and better for the QB.  And a QB coach who will be a hard ass on the QBs and make sure they stay with their mechanics as much as possible.  This was a very stale and mundane O we had to witness this season.  Sure, the injuries to the OL and the lack of quality WRs (and at times TE with both Goedert and Ertz out at the same time and the games Sanders was out) with nothing but JAGs and raw rookies were mountains to overcome, but this coaching staff did nothing to adjust to those deficiencies and help the O be more creative with what they had.  They didn't scheme guys open, they didn't create mismatches or find ways to use players creatively and get the ball in their hands in different ways.  Just a boring stale crackers O.  Seems they also have no answers for when the opposing DC makes his adjustments and starts to smother our O.  So many coaches and not a single one of them with an answer.

Price will be the same, as the trading team will be weighing offers from teams trying to trade up for QB's.

Also not good 26 turnovers by the offense is 3rd most in the league. And 3rd most penalties in the nfl. Yikes

And then you watch the Giants leap frog you for Chase lol.

and please for the love of god... stop with Penei Sewell talk. We have about 37 holes on this starting roster and some how LT isnt one of them

Dave Gettleman is not trading up for a WR. Dude is about as with the times as Blockbuster video.

If Sewell is as good as people think he can be, you absolutely take him. It's the 2nd most important position in the sport. If he can be a franchise elite LT for years, you do it. Mailata has potential, but we don't know how good he can be just yet. And Dillard is at best a total unknown.

No.  That's where you defend your player and you call out the turd who cheap shotted your player and say that the league needs to handle their business.   That's how you lead.    Acting all 'Gee shucks' is a wimpy response.

Kind of like this.....

I was told Wentz was the issue. Surely this cant be true.

From Dane brugler’s mock draft he has the eagles taking devonta smith from bama. Sewell and chase off the board by the time the eagles are on the clock.

more and more i think the Jets and dolphins are prime positions to trade out with teams wanting to Move up to get a QBs like fields, Wilson or lance

I was all in on Devonta Smith last year and of course he had to stay

Im surprised more people arent talking about him.  He is a sure thing. Very high floor and that's what we need.   Low risk, high reward

Right, if that's the price a QB will be going in that spot so you won't need to trade up. You'll know what position is being drafted in that spot by the price.

So if Miami sitting at #3 is asking for a crap ton to move up, just sit tight because you'll know it's highly unlikely Chase will be taken there. It'll be them taking a QB or another team trading up for a QB.

sounds like Jaccpot has been informed his days are numbered

Don’t you worry he’ll get the special peters and sproles treatment

This is not a plan.

And every team was in the same situation, yet other teams looked much better coached.  It's a piss poor excuse.

Chase or Sewell or bust in this draft. Trade up if necessary. I know this is dramatic but if we don’t get either it’ll ruin the 2021 Eagles offseason and season for me. Need them in Philly.

Well we can't have this.  I'll make some calls.

This is the only scenario where Duce can be the head coach.  The problem is identifying and poaching a really good OC, which they have shown they don't have the ability to do the last 3 years.  The Joe Bradys, Lincoln Rileys, and Brian Dabolls are not going anywhere unless it's for a head coaching job.

Yeah but do we know how much influence those other coaches had behind DP? McDermott will be coach of the year and he was fired here.

There is lots of coaching talent out there we don’t know about.

It was an example because every team calls on every pick and the Giants are going to be right above us.

and no, I see no scenario where taking a 3rd Left Tackle is manageable. and If you find me any mock draft that has us taking a OL any where in the top 10 id love to see it

This is going to be a long rebuild man. I think you need to accept that now. They should not be trying to rush this thing. Yes, doubling up on OT is not ideal because they have other positions that are currently weaker, but if in 5 years it makes us the better team that’s all that matters. I’ve already accepted we are not contending in the next 3-4 years and everything I want the Eagles to do is based on that.

We don’t get top 5 picks often. I want to come out of it with a blue chip prospect at a premium position. Outside of QB there is no more important position than LT. If in 5 years we look back at that as the right move, then it was the right move. Even if this year it looks a little weird. To me the 2021 isn’t even relevant and I wouldn’t make any moves based on 2021. The team is going to suck next year. I’d prefer Chase to Sewell, but I’d be happy if Sewell was the pick if he’s going to be a decade long top 5 LT.

If the season ended today they should trade back with the Broncos(currently 10) or 49ers(14th)

who both have a ton of draft capitol

And both are looking for a new young QB to bring into the fold.

nah

I cant think of one example that (outside of QB) that jumping 2 or 3 spots in the top 10 is worth it.

This isnt going from 80 to 65 where it cost you a 5th next year. Going form 8 to 5 will cost you the 8th this year, the 2nd this year, the 2nd next year and the 3rd from this year(similar to what buffalo did a couple years ago.

No player is worth that.

I know these aren't top 10, but Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox were both great trade ups for us.  Dillard remains to be seen, but maybe the only thing I actually like about this team's draft strategy is that if they want a guy, they aggressively go after him.

Donnell Pumphrey another great example.  👀
