I'm not sure I agree with that. I think this season is far more on the talent than the coaching. I think coaching has a lot to do with it too. But our guys don't make plays. We have no playmakers. Doug is trying to draw blood from a stone with these guys.

Now, if we had Kyle Shanahan, do I think we'd be better off? Sure. But even if we could somehow get to 8 wins, that really doesn't impress me. 8 wins in this awful division? Yawn. I want to win a Super Bowl. Not be an 8 or 9 win team in a terrible division.

Regardless of coach, we are miles from the NFL's best teams. And that's the category I want the Eagles to be in. And to get there I think we need to build "low and slow." Like smoking a brisket. Take your time, do it right. If we only fill 3 holes an offseason, but fill them with blue chip talent, then I'm fine waiting 3 years to have an elite team that can contend for 5 years.

I miss the Andy Reid days greatly, I never thought I'd say it. Being a surefire contender every single year. Took it for granted. I want to build back to that.

Meh.  This isn't the NBA.  Teams are rebuilt within 2 years if they make the right decisions.  Coaching and developing young players, a few hits in the draft, and some hits in free agency have proven to completely turn a team around.  Eagles 2017 and the Dolphins right now come to mind.

I agree, but what makes you think we’ll make the right decisions? We’ve made every wrong decision since 2017.

will you at least agree that if Lurie keeps the status quo then it’ll be closer to my timeline than yours?

I'm a Chase fan, not an LSU fan. I said before on here I think he's the next Julio Jones. I think he's going to be a top 3 WR in the NFL for years. That's my opinion. Which is why I think getting him should be the goal for a team that sucks at getting WRs and who all of us are tired of seeing ourQBs throwing to crap every year. Chase would end that nightmare in one move. We wouldn't have to worry about that position anymore for a long time. That security to me is worth giving up an extra pick for. Of course every trade has a limit, and if the price gets crazy then you back off, but I don't think it will. It only does for QBs.

At first I was against a WR this high, but I had a change of heart. I don't see the other players in the top ten totally matching up with what we really need and I'm not enamored by many in the top ten besides Chase and the OT.
I do like Surtain quite a bit but I don't have to have him at say between 4 and 6. I'd be happier trading back to 7 or 8 then snagging him. Or just trade out of the top ten and get Wyatt Davis for OG who I am enamored with.

But if we are right there and it takes a pick to land Chase I can't believe  saying it but I think I'd pull that trigger too. Hate to think it but I wouldn't mind Chase plus a free agent bumping Reagor to the slot. Think he's gonna be a bust anyways. I'd really love Curtis Samuel in the slot here but don't see it happening. How about signing Golladay and drafting Chase 🤤

I think that was when he was asked about the injuries for 3 years

Why?  This team needs an offensive mind that plays to the strengths of the players and that has proven himself.  To me, Duce has proven that he's great at shuffling the rotation of the RBs, especially when one of them has the hot hand.

I don't get the fascination with Duce. He doesn't even get his RB rotation right

Any chance Howie is contemplating a move to acquire Lawrence?

No Fing way Jags give up Trevor when Jets just handed him to them. He's 21. I think Wentz is a franchise QB but he'll also be 28 in 2 days. Even I'd choose the younger guy

A legend in his own mind.

Yes it is.  LOL.  O line.  Garbage.  Linebackers. Garbage.  Secondary.  Garbage.  D Line.  Old.  That’s a large portion of the team.  Extremely devoid of young talent.

How anyone can’t see that is astonishing. This team needs multiple off seasons to fix and that’s if the right guy is doing the drafting.

Agree with everything but o-line.  Assuming Kelce does not retire, they will be good next year with the return of Brooks and with the hope that Johnson can play 85% of the games.  That being said, tackle could be a serious need because Johnson is becoming unreliable with his injuries.

Honest opinion

Could we get a 3rd for Hurts?

Could we get a 5th for Ertz?

Ertz yes, I think you can get a later-round pick for him. It's almost a necessity to move him for cap reasons.

Truthfully I'd rather keep both QBs and let them battle for the job in the offseason. But I don't have to deal with egos and whatnot so who knows if that will be possible.

Combine them and get an 8th

Oh wait.

I agree there's no way they pass on Lawrence.  However, I would have been interested to see what the Jets would have done with that pick.  We're probably talking about the most ridiculous haul of high draft picks ever to get this guy.  They could have rebuilt that entire franchise with nothing but young talent and actually put weapons and protection around Darnold.

Sounds like WR just a year ago.   Insert Desean and Alshon for Brooks and Johnson.

Why in the world would you take a loss on Hurts already? They won’t trade him for less than a 2nd and even that makes little sense.

I think you can get at least a 2 for Hurts. Maybe even a mid to late first depending on the team, maybe we throw in a third to make the first happen. He's on a rookie deal and showed great promise already.

It's called cutting bait.

Option 1, have a torn locker room,  and a QB looking over his shoulder the entire time(regardless of who your starter is)

Option 2, get them out of town for anything and move on.

Smart thing and the successful thing would be option 2

You're correct.  That's why the Eagles will trade Wentz this offseason.

Whats funny all the big draft team trades i never remember one of the teams receiving the haul ended up being good.

Rams turned RG3 into like 11 picks in the top 100 and nothing happened.

Falcons gave up a boat load for Vick and the Chargers did nothing with it.

Redskins and the Saints for Ricky Williams

Wow how times have changed from trading a whole draft for a RB to RBs now not going until the 2nd Round.

I'm not a big fan of the way the league is trending, pass happy no defense score 50 points a game is fun when it's not the norm, when every team is the greatest show on turf week in week out it's gets boring 😴

No way anyone gives us a first for Hurts. This place 🤣

Honest question:

If the Eagles do say enough is enough and move on from Wentz, do you think they consider drafting a guy?
