KORs have been neutered into irrelevance by the nfl and he has turned it into an impact play.

Cant argue against that.

I wasn't referring to his kickoff duties, where he's actually found a way to be a detriment to the team, while the position has essentially been removed from the game.

But, his impact in the games as a RB are extremely limited.  There's no way he should be the #2 RB.  But, he shows up against the Giants.  So, people get enthralled.

Mills has stunk at safety.

The Achilles heel of this D since the NFCCG against the Vikings has been the deep ball and TE's...is that an issue this year?  Nope...the S play has been pretty darn good all things considered.  Mills is quietly having a good year, leading the team in tackles while juggling being asked to play about 7 different positions.

Thats my point. They didnt talk about the 11-3 Bills. They didnt talk about MVP candidate Josh Allen. they didnt talk about Brady leaving or even the patriots future. it was ALL CAM. And it's been that way all year.

Actually they talked about all of that.

I mean if your quarterback has to run the ball a lot to win games he will eventually wear down (kinda like running backs). If you run like Wilson (only when you have to,  and avoid hits) it's sustainable

He also often gets down or OOB.  He rarely puts his shoulder down and tries to run someone over.

Speaking of Cam, when you suck stop doing the superman thing

Not his fault that all NFL DCs have found kryptonite.

Catching up and sheesh.

Today is going to be a day.

Exactly.  See my post from earlier this morning.  There is no continuity in the defensive backfield.  It's been a revolving door at CB2.  NRC has sucked.  Mills has had to jump all over the place, cheat and help UDFA JAGs playing on the outside.

Get a solid CB2, play LeBlanc at nickel and let Epps/Wallace play the other safety spot and I think you see a very steady, good Jalen Mills at safety.

Cam was never a good passer. never even an average passer. So something must of been wrong with his shoulder since 2013ish

Again you can say he wasn’t a good passer, I don’t care. 2 years ago he could at least throw it 50-60 yards. Now, he winds up to throw it 30 yards and it has nothing on it. That’s what I’m saying ... that’s it.

It looks like his arm is shot. Good passer or terrible passer.

No worries.   But, that guy... 🤦‍♂️

With this scheme, and players on the outside and LB he hasnt been as bad as I thought. I think hes a better safety then CB. Id like to see him with another year under a new DC that schemes better with less predictable play calls to confuse the offense a little. Safety is a very difficult position to look good in when you have crap all around you. Dawkins would have never been Dawk without the brain of Jim and the very talented Corners and Dline throughout his career. Even in Denver he had that talent around him. But I also think a lot of these players would look better under a different, more creative scheme.

Minus the last 5 years of his career, Dawk would have been elite in whatever system with whatever talent.  He's a HOF'r for a reason.

Oddly enough, people need to pick their poison with this.  JP/Sproles/Peanut/whoever else, we held onto for too long out of respect...yet people get up in arms that we didn't resign Dawk and he went to Denver, despite being a complete liability on the field for 2 years prior to him leaving (minus the 44-6 game).

I've never seen anyone be so wrong about so many things. The only thing I agree with him on is Wentz (most of the time)

If I remember correctly,  the scenario was that if we had a genius defensive HC, that any decent OC of ours would get picked up by another team in the offseason - so the HC would have to deal with a constant churn of offensive coaching.  Wiith that much success, that's a problem I'd be willing to deal with.

In terms of likely being able to keep a DC under a defensive HC long-term, I was guessing that from the outside the DC might be viewed somewhat suspiciously (is the D great because of the HC?).

With two minutes of additional thought, this scenario only really applies to Belichick who has had a churn at OC - but even defensive guys like Patricia and Flores have gotten their chances recently.

McDaniels has been an OC for Belichick for 13 total seasons....

Sobering statistics of the day:

Over the last two seasons combined, Nathan Gerry is tied for second in interceptions and is only one behind team leader, Rodney McLeod.

Of course, Gerry has not played for a significant portion of this season.

Time flies - thought he left for awhile.  So, it's been Charlie Weiss, McDaniels, Bill O'Brian and somebody else?

I mean in fairness you can't take out one of our best years. But I agree with the final sentence

Ryan Fitzpatrick, as does dozens of other QB's dont get the air time that Cam gets and yet dozens are better then Cam and Dozens eat cam up in every stat across the board.

Cam Newton, as you guys mentioned is one of, if not the worst starting qb's in the league, and has been for years and yet continues to get the air time of Manning's, Rodgers, etc.

You're about 5% right in what you're trying to say...I suggest taking a basic marketing class and then look at a calendar and realize Cam hasn't been propped up by the league since his MVP season and being the face of the Play-60 commercials 5 years ago.

Agreed. Every sport trends toward greatly supporting the Offense.

The casual fan likes to watch offense, doesn't understand or care about defense.
