Since the Eagles game Sunday night will decide which team, WFT or Giants, is going to win the division — the Eagles will be expected to uphold competitive balance and play as many of their starters as are healthy for as long as the game remains competitive.

If the game gets be a 20+ point deficit then all bets are off — but the NFL would be rightfully sour if the Eagles attempted to mail the game in.

Thats right — the Giants are winning this Sunday

That sucks. Thanks Howie

2022 - 2024 are void years just to spread out the signing bonus.  His contract expires after next year.

I think we are past due for this discussion.  With the Eagles season over, which team that has not won a Super Bowl do you want to win one.

Bills, Browns and Titans are the teams in play this year.  I gotta go Bills Mafia.

Why? Why don’t the same Wentzcuses, all 33 of them, apply to Hurts too.

Don't count Dallas out. I think they have a better shot than NYG.

I like him as a third back in a three back rotation.  The Eagles are best when playing RBBC.  They need a power back.   A Duce.  I thought Warren might offer that but they gave up on him pretty quickly.

#3 back needs to provide ST help.  Scott is a liability there.  I do agree they need a power back.

Najee Harris would be a great fit (but would require a 2nd round pick), but instead... they could go for Kylin Hill, who's not a 'big back', but is clearly a power back.

I'm meh about teams that haven't won one but I'll be rooting for Bills, Titans, and Packers in the playoffs

Those teams are just fun to watch now

The Eagles aren't mailing it in; they are going to win the game.

WFT may have a playoff spot on the line, but they also have no QB.

We have a QB who will use his legs to neutralize the best thing WTF has going for them...the pass rush.  Hurts will scamper his way to a few 3rd down conversions with the pass rush at his heels to string together enough field goals to outscore a team that will enter the game with no quarterback.

I'd be very surprised if the Eagles don't pull this one out.  That win still won't be enough for Lurie/Howie/Spadaro/et al to even try to sell the fans on anything competitive for 2021.  I actually think they'll all shut up and avoid polishing this turd of a team in fear of choking on their own quotes yet again.  I expect a quiet offseason from all of them, with a few comments about how this was not acceptable and they'll do whatever it takes to succeed.

The QB controversy is because the starter couldn't do his job properly.  If he did, there would be no controversy.

Remember when the Eagles signed Jim McMahon and there was a QB controversy with Howard Eskin saying he should start over Cunningham in 1990.

Bills. NFC I don't care, there's no one special.

I only have one team, the Eagles (regrettably).  But my wife's family are die hard Bill's fans from Buffalo, so I'll enjoy pulling for them in the playoffs.

The Eagles will win 9 to 3 in the most painful game to watch of the season.

I remember when we signed Mike McMahon and he was so bad he unified the fan base.

I was happy to see AR get one.  But I really have no interest in seeing our former HC build a historic dynasty with players I wanted the Eagles to draft and the blueprint I wanted the Eagles to use.  You all may think I'm all about the ITYS, but I want to see the Chief ship and that blueprint sink badly.

Most painful game to watch of the season would be an accomplishment at this point.  I can think of 15 other games that would be tough to beat.

I'd like to see most of our players with a new coaching staff

Notable exceptions:

Peters, Jeffery, Jackson (both of them), Goodwin, Pryor....

I’ve gotten to know him.  You’re way off base and throwing that word around is rather harmful and irresponsible.

I've known Mike for years.  I would hope he's not really racist but the fact that he refuses to acknowledge saying something like that is...well...that's telling. And there have been at least a dozen posts explaining to him why a player like Cam gets coverage but he stuck with his guns and repeatedly alluded to it being because of race.

There's enough debate in this blog about sports in general, the last thing I need or want to deal with is someone who "thinks" it's "ok" to assume a guy is getting media coverage just because he's African American....especially when the facts show otherwise.

I posted a few weeks into the season...don't care to find it and bring it back up...the name of every non-rookie starter on the team and what draft value I would unload them for.

2 questions: what players on this team would you NOT trade for a 1st round pick in the #18-23 range?  What players on this team, accounting for contracts, could reasonably fetch a pick in this range?

Follow up: what players would you NOT trade for a 2nd round pick?  What players could reasonably fetch a 2?

1. No one.

2. No one.

Follow up.

1. Mailata, I guess.

2. Sanders, Goedert, Mailata.

My answers:

First round: Mailata.

2nd round: Reagor.  I criticize him to no end, but that's because I have high expectations and he's one of our only young players with objective talent.

Wentz and Hurts are 2 key trade chips.  I'd definitely trade either for a 1st and would probably trade either for a 2.

I give props and the "with all due respect" trophy to Miles Sanders, Seumalo, Lane Johnson, Goedert, and Josh Sweat.  But I'd dump any one of them for a 2.

Is Mailata supposed to play? Don't see this Oline blocking well against that Dline

Gonna make the loss even more painful.  Gonna get Joe Webb'd.

If the Eagles are tied to Malik Jackson and Graham for 2021, how the heck to they bring back Barnett and meet the cap?  The only guys I’m seeing who are significant cap savings to say goodbye to are Jeffery, Desean, Ertz, and Barnett.
