Henry says hello

Henry will drop off a cliff like all RBs. That’s not a knock on him, he’s great, but you just saw their game against Green Bay.

Great QB >>> Great RB 99 times out of 100. Even in a snow storm.

Unsure what the obessesion is with left tackles

you have 2 guys on the roster, both on rookie deals batteling for LT already(one looks fairly good i may add)

And now everyone wants to add a 3rd LT from the Pac 12 I may add who only knows how to pass block lol. Or should say all hes used to doing.

No thanks

I'm not evaluating Sewell, I don't know how good he is... just going by the consensus evaluation.  If you tell me he is overrated and can only pass block, fine, maybe you are spot on.  I have no idea.  However, if he is the next Jason Peters, I don't care whatsoever that Mailata looked good or they just drafted Dillard.  I need difference makers, and difference makers at premium positions are pure gold.  So rare to find.

Not obsessed with left tackles, only with the proven concept that great teams are built from the lines out.  Great teams have great lines.  You will probably agree with me that this is universally true.  Also, I see the Eagles as a total rebuild.  I don't expect the team to immediately contend -- it could happen, but too much luck is likely required.

Finally, in a scenario where Sewell is as good of a prospect as the CW would imply, would it be the worst idea if Kelce was also retiring and Lane was not himself anymore due to his ankle problem?  Maybe Seamulo can play center, and maybe Dillard can become a left guard and Mailata can take over on the right side.

You aren't wrong... from a fan perspective, and even from an organizational one.

Jim Schwartz isn't tied to this organization past Sunday.  What incentive does he have to mail it in and put a 3rd terrible game on his resume.  500+ yards in back to back games already.  It would be horrible for him to have that again to whomever Washington throws out there at QB.

The players need to play well, because every bit of good tape helps them get/keep a job.  Every bit of bad tape hurts that.

I don't see the organization putting out an edict.  But, I am hoping to lose, push Washington to #19 in the draft order and make them have to pay a ton to get a QB.

Agreed, exactly my point. The fans don’t care about where Schwartz goes next but he does

2 extra inches may not seem like a big deal but my wife disagrees 😉

She must be thinking on a proportional basis...

whether it’s here or somewhere else I’m sure his next employer will want to see how this particular game turned out.

I think the cake has already been baked, so to speak, as far as Schwartz’s strengths and weaknesses.  As professionals, the Eagles have an obligation to uphold competitive balance and not throw a game that results in another team getting eliminated

Cool. Pumped the Steelers are division champs?

This is 100% correct of course.  No one would expect the coaches or players not to try like hell to win any game, even this one.  Every game is an opportunity and part of your legacy.

This is why you need leadership and strategic thinking.  This is where a great owner comes in.  What is better, the end result or an opportunity to get your young players experience against a team fighting for a playoff spot?

The edict should be that any injured veterans like Fletcher Cox, Barnett et al do not see the field.  Their season is over.  Start rehabbing.  You have someone like Barnett, who is in a tenuous spot with the 5th year option etc, get injured and your options are limited, you are on the hook for him.  No value in it.  Save your veterans, give all of your young players a great opportunity to play in a real game.  Give them the reps all week to be prepared.  That is how you get value out of this game.  If the kids win, hey, that really says something.  But if you win a meaningless game with guys that shouldn't even be here and won't be here, that hurts your franchise long term, that is just plain stupid.  No other way to look at it.

I don't disagree.   And any of the injured players should sit this one out.  Desean, Alshon, and other "old and busted"s need to stay on the sidelines as well.

Naturally it looks better to be picking #5 than #10 but it’s not the end of the world if the Eagles win on Sunday night.  If Chase is off the board I don’t think Jaylen Waddle would be such a bad outcome.  I prefer Caleb Farley to Surtain Jr. at CB anyway, so either one works for me, Sewell will go in the top 3 because the Eagles aren’t the only team that builds teams through the OL.  I can’t see Parsons being the pick — and I don’t think he’s as good a prospect as Kenneth Murray was last year.

I'd prefer they play Alshon, Desean and even Peters if possible. They give us the best chance of losing. The young guys will be hungry and give max effort, which might be enough to win.

Waddle is a good pick if smith and chase are gone but rest assured whoever Howie takes will suck

I'm still of the mind that developing the young guys is a good thing, so if that happens, that's a good thing, even if it costs us a draft slot position.

I saw him post a couple times after his suspension, which I had nothing to do with, then he just disappeared.

Just looked says he logged in about an hour ago. Was he suspended for trolling does anyone know? If so hopefully he learned his lesson.

I'd say Frank Gore is the exception.

Most RBs have a pretty short shelf life.

A player of Henry's talent level is also the exception, not the rule.   He's averaging 5.2 ypc with over 340 carries on the season.  In fact, his ypc average is going up as he's gotta more carries in his career.   He's a stone's throw from getting to 2000 yards this season.   Not many RBs have ever had a season where they averaged over 110 yards per game in a season.   So, yeah, he's an exceptional player.

But, good talent evaluators know how to recognize talent and not measure an athlete based on a predetermined set of prescribed criteria... aka, Chip Kelly level scouting.

If he comes back in here and stops babbling jibberish let me know I'll take him off of ignore.

Just talked to one of my local sales reps who is a Chargers fan.  He said the fan sites and bloggers have started discussing Doug Pederson as the next head coach if Anthony Lynn gets fired.  After listening to me for about 5 minutes, he now realizes that would be a horrible idea.

We should get a couple of those guys in the Eagles front office.

Hopefully Jeff Lurie reads some of this stuff.  The fans, the media, we all want him gone.

I am available for consulting purposes, and I promise to tie up Howie so that he can't make any picks.
