I am available for consulting purposes

While it is funny, this is not a bad idea.  Just going with board favorites, we would have Kamara, Metcalf and Jefferson.  Instead we have ( had ) Sidney Jones, JJawful and Reagor.

I could list a ton of players we banged the drum for that are killing it in the league.  One of these days I will have to do my post super bowl redraft based on board favorites.

This clown cannot be allowed to fail his way into a lifetime appointment.

The level of nepotism here is unprecedented.  If you aren't going to fulfill your obligation as owner to the fans and the community... SELL THE TEAM.

Schwartz will be coaching for his job. Pretty sure he doesn’t care about a draft pick

His job should be terminated by 11:30. Little late to save his job IMO.

Said it before...

If Jeffro knows that those picks were heavily influenced by Doug(which i think they were) Howie stays.

I've said before, when the head coach is not even allowed to select his own coaches... his own OFFENSIVE staff, when he is an offensive coach.... why in the world would we think he was allowed to make draft picks?  They had no problem publicly humiliating the coach, forcing him to fire people he said were staying that he wanted to retain, and forcing him to hire people from other systems the owner and GM coveted (without understanding, of course).  They are going to do that, but then allow the coach/coaches to have the final say over their vaunted scouting team and the genius in charge of them, who is desperate for respect having been unceremoniously deposed in the past?

I think this is very, very, very unlikely.  The GM must be held accountable for the draft decisions.  Even if coaches have influence, it is up to the GM to make the correct final decisions.

Jeffrey Lurie (or any other owner) has no/none/zip/nada obligation to the fans or the community. If he had partners or investors his obligation would be to them. As it is, if Lurie isn't making enough money he might be inclined to sell the team. If governments make his life difficult he might do enough (campaign contributions?) to mollify them. Do you REALLY think Jeffrey Lurie cares what you or I think?

I’m not saying he’s trying to save his job here. I’m saying he’d likely want to put good tape out there for his next opportunity. Some may think he’s known and established so there will always be a job in the league for him but Sundays outcome could be the difference between a place he’d actually like to coach versus just accepting whatever is available.

Schwartz may not want a new contract here so  I don’t think he cares what happens to our draft pick

Sure.  And I'm sure that Doug heavily influenced Howie to trade for Golden Tate, then couldn't figure out how to use him... and the Avery trade must have been Schwartz' brain child, and then he refused to use him too.

Nah, Howie dug this hole himself with poor drafting for longer than Doug being here and even worse contract structures.

But, Howie is tied to Jeffery's hip... So, don't look for a logical reason for why Howie might stay.

Yup.

Logic is lacking in some of these takes.

And it's getting worse as it goes along.  Sure, a small sample size that would only fill a fraction of the stadium, but that 95%+ speaks volumes.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little shocked you knew how to do this.

What’s the deal with Alex Smith is he suiting up?

Makes you wonder if Lurie and Roseman have agreed to have Howie return to his Executive VP role only, while John Dorsey takes over as GM after the season.  One can assume Dorsey was brought in for his drafting record in KC and CLE, but there would be minimal benefit if he’s not the guy making the picks.

They don’t know until he can make it through practice without being sore. He was close last week and they just cut Haskins so that would tell me he is likely to play.

But the calf injury is to the same leg they took like half of his calf to save his other leg, so it might be more complicated than usual.

This.  Howie can not be involved in anything to do with player selection.  Plus, he is gonna need it to be a full time job cleaning up his cap mess if he is kept around.

Is Howie still going to be structuring the contracts?   Deciding on who gets extended?  How much money they get?  etc.?    Nah... Roseman needs to be pushed out and take a 9-5 job.

The salary cap issue may turn out to be a moot point.

If the NFL cant get fans asses back in the seats the NFL will be a very different product in 3 years.

Does anyone know when the current TV rights contract expires?

Yup, no more "new roles” or bringing in "special advisors”. It’s over ... change is needed. No more tweaks.

Don't know how I never realized before that Carson Wentz and Lebron have the same birthday.

I will always remember Andy Reid's birthday, as it is also my birthday.

Why on God's green earth would you put the person who created the mess in charge of fixing it?    Do you hire an incompetent plumber to fix the sink after he floods the kitchen?   Hire the electrician that caused an electrical fire in your house with faulty wiring to fix it?

That would be stupid.
